The second series in the Queen's Blade saga, starts off where the original series ended. All the women we have met so far are at the foot of the bridge that leads to the capital city of Gynos. The reigning Queen Aldra is there with all the others, and has revealed her power that makes her nearly invincible, but she also holds a dark secret behind it. Regardless, the winner of the Queen's Blade competition must face her in battle. The intrepid Leina is no longer the scared little girl she was in the beginning of the original series. She is now a trained warrior, tested in battle and has perfected her own special attack. But will this be enough? The three demons sent by the Swamp Witch did not stop the Queen's Blade as ordered, the angel with the miss matched wings and Leina's two sisters also failed in there assignments, are all ordered to compete in the Queen's Blade or face punishment. The Queen's Blade competition finally begins.

"Like being adrift on an endless sea of nude boobs and buns", this anime is a must see if your willing to live with all the nudity. A good story with well paced development. Good character development and dialog, so many of them, and almost all of them are female. This lent itself to a bit of softcore lesbianism, thought rare and brief. Rich, detailed anime stile rarely seen, things like the character outfits and background detail was rich anf highly varied. Normally, a sword and sorcery story like this one would have weapons and armor that look similar to one another, but not this anime. Each character had a unique weapon, some had secondary weapons, one used a living poisonous snake as a battle ally. They all also had unique armor and special attacks. I liked the use of the heavenly version of stadiumvision, like massive bubbles in the sky, that normally appear clear but are used by the angles to broadcast the Queens Blade competition to the continent, I thought this was a cleaver detail. Some great combat sequences highlighted this series, though loosing one's clothing during combat was common. The combat sequences where well paced, choreographed and timed, and just frequent enough to keep the story interesting and action packed, but not so overly frequent as to interfere with the main plot. Easy to follow main plot with some great side plots. Some good girls become evil, and some evil girls go good, friends become enemies and vise versa. Lots of thongs and bikini armor. And though the outcome of the contest for which this anime was named was predictable, the boss battle afterwards wasn't. Very entertaining, go get it.
