Pursuit

Pursuit is an anime episode of Death Note that was released on 10/24/2006
Gaining access to his father's police records, Light is able to perform experiments on the limitations of the Death Note.   L understands that Kira must have access to police records, and narrows the search by having all relations to police officers involved in the case followed.  Light realizes he is being followed.
