A Thunderian female warrior who was a slave to the dogs and forced to fight for their amusement. She was later freed by Lion-O. She was the archery expert of the team, but was soon discovered to be in league with Mumm-Ra.
After the fall of Thundera to Mumm-Ra, Grune, Slithe, and the Lizard army, Pumyra CLAIMED she was among those captured and enslaved. She was at first put to work in a mining operation by the Rats in Mount Plun-Darr, but was soon sold to the Dogman Dobo to entertain the dogs in gladiator combat in their arena The Pit.
Lion-O attempted to break her out, but she refused his help, blaming him for the fall of Thundera, and Lion-O was captured when her yelling alerted the guards. Soon Lion-O and Pumyra were pitted in a death match against one another, but Lion-O refused to fight Pumyra, even if it meant his own death.
Realizing she had misjudged Lion-O, Pumyra drops her bow, and also refuses to kill him. Though Dobo states that the penalty for forfeit in the pit is death, the chants of the other dogmen to let them live, and his own discovery his friend Panthro only abandoned him in the past for his own protection led Dobo to free Pumyra and Lion-O, she then joined the ThunderCats.
Later in the floating city of the Birds, Pumyra was revealed to be the lover of Mumm-Ra, and the result of a dead Thunderian warrior having been brought back to life by the Ancient Spirits of Evil. Her only desire is to kill Lion-O, but thankfully the Thundercats and their allies the Berbils, Dogs, Fishmen, and Elephants defeated Mumm-Ra and Pumyra, though the pair escaped with the Tech-Stone.
Pumyra was a character from the original Thundercats series who has since been updated for the current version.
The Pumyra/Lion-O relationship: When Pumyra was first introduced she hated Lion-O, that quickly turned to respect, and seems to be developing into romantic intentions. (one episode changed the entire character dynamic in What Lies Above part 2) Later however it was revealed Pumyra was actually working for Mumm-Ra, and had died during the fall of Thundera, but her desire for revenge against Lion-O in her last moments led Mumm-Ra to have the ancient spirits of evil resurrect her. She was not only his agent and spy, but his lover as well.
