Plot Overview
Madoka, an average girl, dreams of a ruined city and a defeated magical girl. She is told that she has the power and the choice to change that, but is unable to respond with her decision before waking up. While Madoka is able to resume her normal life the morning after, a girl transfers into her class who resembles the defeated magical girl. Gradually, Madoka's dream invades her reality.
Creation and Development
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (or "Madoka Magica" for short) was created and debuted by anime studios Shaft and Aniplex on January 2011, which was the same month that the manga version started. The final two episodes of the anime was delayed and later released on April 2011 because of the earthquake and tsunami that greatly devastated Japan.
