@Marshal Victory: To me, a red herring would be a hint here or there that suggests that what is happening is a dream, but I don't think that is what is happening here. Sure, they could be misleading us into thinking its a dream, but the events that transpire are so absurd and lampshade-hanging (at least in comparison to the first arc of the series) that this being a dream ...

I second @takashichea 's pick of Shin Sekai Yori as an underrated anime. It did an excellent job of building slowly building up the plot and raised some interesting philosophical questions about humanity.

@sickVisionz: While the Phantom Troupe are awesome, Tom doesn't really need the setup for the Phantom Troupe since he'll be skipping over them (almost) entirely. That said, a few episodes in the middle of the Chimera Ant arc would be much less meaningful without any context.

Tom, are you planning on jumping to the start of the Chimera Ant arc or literally the most recent episode? This arc has does an awesome job of setting the tone early on and then ratcheting up the tension. If you jump in at the most recent episode, you'd be missing a lot of build up. As I recall, the start of the arc is also a fairly clean entry ...

@YotaruVegeta: As someone who hasn't read the manga, I think the production team on the anime is making it blatantly obvious who the female titan is. That, or they are doing their best to make it seem like it's obvious. That person being the female titan would also strongly support the idea of a government conspiracy.I can't be the only one that sees it, right? Everywhere I look, people are ...

The new Zangetsu are pretty cool, but I'll be dissapointed (but not surprised) if their special attack is still just Getsuga Tenshō. The blades almost certainly stick together to make a giant bow, so maybe without a doubt Ichigo will get a new attack that draws heavily from his quincy powers. Also, now that we know that Ichigo's inner hollow is his true power, hopefully the hollow mask makes a return, ...

Sinbad is probably my favourite character in Magi. I find him and his friends far more interesting than the main trio. I think the main contributor to that is that Sinbad and co have already made up their minds about how to live their lives, as opposed to Alibaba, Aladdin, and Morgiana. As such, Sinbad's gang comes across as much more confident than uncertain, and occasionally angsty, lead trio.

I've been keeping up with it and enjoying it. The one part that I liked a little less was the section in the middle where the focus changed from "Children learning about and coping with the awful truths of the world" to "Man, aren't the monster rats creepy?" I'm glad that its come full circle and shifted back to the original focus in episode 21.

A couple of Tezuka manga have been made into live-action films in Japan-- do you know what they are?

While one could argue that some of the episodes up to this point have been a little slow, every episode going forward has at least one HOLY S***! moment that I think even an uninitiated viewer could appreciate. I enjoyed this show having only seen a few random episodes of Salior Moon, although I do have a bad habit of not dropping shows once I start watching, no matter how ...

@zaldar: I would put forward that (almost) causing mass suicides in this episode constitutes a threat to the real world.

@Lurkero said:Episodes 22 and 23 are honestly confusing and I felt like they could have used those episodes to flesh out the plot and characters more rather than playing around.I can't offer any defense for episode 22, but I didn't think episode 23 was confusing so much as misplaced. Had it occurred earlier, rather than before the final arc, it would have fit in pretty well. As it stands, though, ...

I'm excited that the Captain Commander showed up. However, he had better over-kill "The Overkill" with his bare hands, or I will be really disappointed.Another point (low or high, depending on your view) is that there are apparently 26 Sternritter soldiers (one for each letter of the alphabet). Even with the three that Kenpachi took out, this arc could easily last another year, unless Kenpachi can take out the head ...

If you're curious about garishly stereotypical accents, you need to watch the subbed version of episode 23. It's ridiculous, in a good way.

@LordTerminal: I just found out that there is a 51st episode called "Eureka Seven: New Order". Apparently it aired just before AO, and it helps to bridge the two series. It makes it clear that Eureka and Renton most certainly did not live happily ever after. It also informs the audience, in broad terms, why the two are separated.
2 years, 2 months ago
@FoxxFireArt: I would happily accept this as a Gundam-style, non-connected spinoff/sequel series if it weren't for the fact that AO appears to pick up right after the previous anime. Not only does it (apparently) pick up right after, it meddles with the previous anime's feel-good ending by separating Eureka and Renton, whose relationship was the main focus of the original series. Even if there is no connection and it turns ...

@LordTerminal: I have seen the next episode, and my assumption is that Ao hates his father due to his total absence.SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content.Another more optimistic speculation is that Eureka told Ao that Renton would be coming to join/save/retrieve/<whatever> them, but he hasn't shown up, yet. That would open the door for Renton to make a badass entrance later on in the series.Either way, it will ...

The main things that keep me watching the show are the dangling carrots that are Eureka's disappearance and Renton's total absence. Seriously, the focus of the first series was the relationship between Eureka and Renton, and I would have assumed that this series would show the details of their life together. If the creators had left the state of Eureka's and Renton's relationship in the state that it was in ...
