Alright guys, we have a problem.
A lot of us put a lot of thought into these levels, and we look forward into seeing how they play out. However, a lot of these levels are getting raped up the bum by the other players.
Kuma, imaginary dragons are imaginary and not real.
Reliusclover, Underwater labyrinths without monsters aren't supposed to have monsters in them. And giant sun monsters aren't supposed to shrink down to small enemies.
Chronowolf, you made the pirate cave level, and were within your rights to have the twist that they were all actors. Good job!
Again, Kuma, you added the knight game into Clover's pretty empty moorland level, but that's all well and good because we needed something to do while Crown and Arthur had their lovers tiff.
Yeilin, you've been fine. No complaints. You've been a great sport.
And I'm to blame just as much as everyone. Hell, I really messed up Cronowolf's guitar race level, and overtook Yei's volcano level with my driveform rampage.
Point is, people aren't happy about this, and it's not a nice feeling. Especially when we come down to the trickier stuff later on and my Take On Me level starts getting abused by an artist with an eraser, or someone inventing colour, or something else like that.
So, new rule.
Only the person who started the level can implement plot twist, monster changes, environment changes, rule changes, or similar into said level, unless permission is given at the end of a post with the symbol (FP) underneath the last paragraph of their post.
IE
NEW FLOOR!
THERE'S GOLD AND PIXIES AND UNICORNS AND STUFF!
FLOWERS GROW IN PRETTY COLOURS
THERE'S AN ANGRY CENTAUR! WHAT DO I DO?
(FP)
In that instance, I'm allowed to have dragons join the fight. Without that permission, however, I have to make do with pixies and unicorns and the angry centaur. The person who posted the level, however, can have dragons come if that's what he/she wanted.
Granted, this limits the majority of us in our storytelling, but this helps the creators of each level enjoy it more. If you want to twist it, ask, and if the author has nothing up their sleeve, go for it. The moajority of the floors will be FP floors, but if you have something in mind that you want to keep going how you want it, don't type an FP. If you REALLY want to railroad a level, make it go EXACTLY how you want, post (RR) at the bottom of the floor start, and we will be good. Unless you take forever to post. Then we'll get bored, wrap up, and leave. RR's for something specific, IE boss fights, Aha theme floors, or so on. In an RR theme, situation stays the same unless states otherwise.
Everyone happy with these rules? Any questions? How can we improve the game? Post your comments below.
Oh, while I'm busy annoying everybody. Reply to me to update your reply everyone line. I'm not getting the notification because my name doesn't have a : in the end of a lot of your posts. Kuma and Chronowolf are doing fine. Thanks guys! Commence the pelting of stones!
yikes :p I've had a blast regardless and thanks, SamJaz (Kuma, Chronowolf and Clover as well!). I'll be coming back with a vengeance! Even though I have nothing to avenge.. Also, welcome to the RPG DigiDestined ^__^
Have fun all : )
