We used to have a stand-alone Pong console. Wish I knew where that went.

The company I work for picked up a boat load of DVDs from a liquidator and I found a good number of classic mid-90's anime DVDs in there. The cream of the crop though was the first Ghost in the Shell movie. Picked it up for a dollar.

Paleontologist.

Stupid Kenshin filler arc.. Worst thing about it was that the series was canned before we got the other part of the content it was filling in for. The flashback was handled well in the OVA, but everything back in the present with Enishi was never to be seen short of maybe two shots in the final OVA. Criminal.

I found the romance set to be difficult due to being less familiar with titles in that overall genre. But the Gateway set was frustrating as heck. I don't disagree with any of the items that are on there. But there were some strong staples that I felt would have been better options. It's like those terrible multiple choice questions where there are multiple correct answers, but one is more correct. But really, if it was anime series and it made it onto mainstream American television it probably has good justification for being a gateway anime for some.
 
And I have to echo the sentiment found here and in other quest threads - While I love the quests that are sets of related items, more individual clues would be great. Eventually the community itself is producing good and fair clues (sometimes they certainly could be more vague, but it's difficult) but it would be nice if that legwork wasn't as necessary.

 
The first series that really wowed me was Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita, if only for the level of detail portrayed in every panel.
 
 But what truly blew my mind was Hiroaki Samura 's Blade of the Immortal.

As time passes the average age of people who play video games has slowly risen from being something solely for kids and teens to adults. Even though manga is consumed in Japan across a wide age range, North American anime fandom still appears to be the domain of teenagers and college students. Do you think as the current generation grows up will the average age of an anime fan continue to rise, or will we just see constant turnover?

Will John re-dub of the OP to Heroman in the style depicted on the Squadcast (ie the MacGruber Heroman)?

I suppose the number of shows where a "villain" is the lead character are in the minority so you can't be too choosey when forming  a list.
