I don't think religion has any place in sci-fi. Ergo proxy was about reality and destiny. The ending was excellent. The proxies were created as replacements for god because there isn't one. It came out six years ago so it's kind of funny to see an article about it now. It was my favorite anime until the recent rebuild of Evangelion. :3WATCH IT.
