Hello Anime Vice! I know this isn't anime-related, but I really wanted to share this with you guys and girls. Please take the time to read this blog post thoroughly, I would really appreciate it. I will try to keep this as concise as possible, and if you're looking for any further info please follow the links I provide or just ask me :D
So basically the Sharp Park Wetlands are being drained in order to create a golf course; which is endangering the California Red-Legged Frogs. Once these wetlands are drained, the frog's natural habitat will be gone, and their populations will decline. Please visit this link for more information: Save The Sharp Park Wetlands!, and if you want to sign the petition to get the Mayor to cancel his veto, please visit this link to the petition
I just learned about this pesticide in my biology course yesterday and it really is mind-boggling. I'll try to keep this as simple as possible, but basically this chemical is being used regularly in agricultural practices and it has great effects on frogs since it disturbs the endocrine system (what's in charge of hormones in the body). Since frogs have permeable skin it makes them even more susceptible to this stuff, and the fact that they rely on hormone-regulated steps of development (i.e. metamorphosis), atrazine has a great negative impact on them.
As you can see, this pesticide is very dangerous to frogs, if you'd like to save the frogs and ban this pesticide from use then please sign your name on this petition.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and sign the petitions I linked to this blog post. Why am I doing this you might ask? Well I'm a a second year environmental science university student that's really really reaaaaaaaaaaaally passionate about my studies. I signed the petitions and I thought to spread the word just in case there were people out there that wanted to contribute but didnt know about it. I think that we can all make a difference, and since we humans are the ones that keep messing up I think its our responsibility to take part in the solution.
(The info and facts that I used for this blog were from the official websites I provided above, and from my own personal knowledge that I obtained from my studies.)
Thank you so much for your time and contribution
