"I'm a freaking medic!" Taylor shouted at the crazy swordswoman. "You can't feel my life-force because I radiate as I take in! I am one with my environment so I can control the flow and use that life-force to heal others. All is one and one is all."
To prove his point, Taylor erased a few of the scratches Juni had picked up, either from the Terra Destroyer or from the landing, making sure not to erase the damage to her clothing while he did so. He also performed the surgery bit-by-bit, so she would actually feel it 'healing'.
"Like I said, Eli Hess." Taylor said with a pleasant smile. "Nice to be working with you, miss Hinamura. And I know your names from the operations file, not because I'm a creepy spy. Because I'm not a spy. Or creep-" Taylor- or Eli, slapped his own forehead at his apparent stupidity. He was a brilliant liar. Faking the tells, completely immersing those around him in this character he was weaving for them. Like his name suggested, he was perfectly fabricating a whole new identity out of whole cloth, and the best part was how the computer systems around the world were actually re-rewriting their data as he spoke, so when the team looked him up, they would actually find his details on the ship
They might find Joey's too, but Joey was a different character. A loud, gruff veteran of a soldier that liked to drink and kinda got a bit rough with the girls on the weekend. Nothing like this young teenager who was laughing at his own social awkwardness.
"Do over." Eli said with a sheepish smile. "My name's Eli Hess. I'm a healer. I'm on your side. It's nice to meet you."

Taylor rushed along the dying grass, panting for breath as he did so. One hand held a gun at the Terra Destroyer, the other hand touching the dying grass.
Instantly, green life began to spread from the tip of his fingers. "Eli Hess, healer." Taylor shouted, firing a couple of rounds at the beast before rushing towards Lynn. The grass turned green wherever his feet trod, spreading out to combat the decay, and he slid towards the comatose Lynn, using his All Fiction to erase her wounds, just as he was using his All Fiction to erase the effects of the stone.
Of course, to the rest of the team, it would look like he was very proficient in his professed field- healing, despite the fact this his actual ability was nothing of the sort.
However, if he could bring glass to life and cure people from mortal wounds, it would be easy for them to believe his story.
Taylor grinned at his opponent as the food was brought to them. He reached into a thin wallet and withdrew a card and placed it onto the table.
It bore his face, and the words [ Nozomi Suemitsu - GOURMET KING 2009 ]
Within minutes, the plate of chicken wings was a pile of bones, and Taylor was working on the fries, making sure to apply liberal ketchup to fill the extra space.
Dave, gloved hand on the window, whistled as he watched Lynn skydive out of the Air-carrier. "Man, that's pretty sick, right Joey?"
He turned to find a gun aimed at his chest.
[ OPEN IT ]
Dave didn't hear a sound. The text literally appeared before his eyes, blinding him as his teammate continued to point the weapon at him.
[ THE WINDOW ]
[ OPEN IT BEFORE I OPEN YOU ]
Dave wasn't having it. With trained calmness, he tried to calm his teammate "Joey, put the gun-"
There was no sound as a large screw pierced Dave's jaw. He slumped against the wall, and Taylor pushed him aside.
With a grin, he summoned a multitude of screws that pierced every bolt on the sheet of metal that formed the wall. They span, and within seconds the wall flew off into the sky, pulling Taylor with it.
He flipped, then formed a swan dive as he used his All Fiction ability to erase Dave's wounds and death, as well as the damage done to the air-carrier.
The flying wall had returned to the air-carrier, and Taylor was in free-fall.
He kept his eyes focused on Lynn. She wasn't going to know he was following her. He had no chi for her to detect, no physical presence to sense, no aura to... aura out? Whatever. Taylor was completely unnoticeable not by the merit of his stealth, but rather that he was supernaturally easy to ignore.
For the time being, he was somebody else's problem. An unexpected guest that they didn't know about yet.
@Lobos_Del_Rayo: @Jlynnana: @SamJaz: @taylor: @Sonata:
Taylor fell to the earth in four pieces, but was back to his feet within seconds.
Seeing the swordsman travel to attack his allies, Taylor used his All Fiction to erase the concept of getting noticed, just for a few seconds, and stepped in front of Kita, invisible for as much as anyone noticed.
"I'm Sorry" Moyasu told Kita with a horribly twisted smile as he landed in front of her and the unnoticed Taylor. "I forgot your name."
And Taylor's Unskilled made the erasure fail, and suddenly Taylor was noticed, screws already making their way to Moyasu's torso and face.
[ IT'S A COMMON REACTION ]
[ I'M QUITE A FORGETTABLE PERSON LIKE THAT ]
@Manami: Taylor pondered Tavi's words as she ran ahead.
Did she think he was insane?
Was that how he presented himself to the world?
He couldn't have that.
Taylor stood up and travelled.
All Fiction is a terrifying ability, once one understands it. It is more than merely erasing inconvenient parts of reality. It was the transferral of actual objects, concepts, events or people into the realm of fiction, or the imagination. Storyland, if you will. If left unchecked, taylor's power could render the entire planet a mere fantasy.
Taylor grew up reading his favourite Shounen Jump comics, but as he stood up to school yard bullies, or asked girls out, or studied hard for tests or worked out in the gym, he came to realise something that concerned him.
The stories were not real. But the lessons they taught...
It was all true.
If you are strong, you can beat those you stand up to.
If you have friends, you can succeed in life.
If you're good looking and kind, that girl will like you.
If you can work hard, you can achieve anything.
And these doctrines sickened Taylor to the stomach.
He wasn't strong like Goku. He had no friends, like Naruto. He wasn't good looking or kind like Junpei, and he wasn't gifted to work hard like Kenichi.
He was a loser, an absolute failure.
And the essential element of his fantasy changed, from excitement to recognition.
The heroes didn't really travel that huge distance. The artist just drew them at the start of the journey and at the end, making them look tired at the outcome.
And, that's what Taylor did.
He turned the distance between him and Tavi, into something from Fiction.
"I apologise if I acted out of turn, Miss Mongoose." Taylor said in a charismatic tone, stood behind Tavi in the courtyard as she faced off against three others. "And I also apologise if I'm bringing this up at a bad time, but I'd like to make it up to you. How can I make this right between us?"
Yuki's pokenav rang as she returned to her dorm. "Hello?" She asked, answering it.
[ HI ]
She smiled. "So, Joey, what's with that?" She asked.
[ KINDA A LONG STORY, BUT THAT'S MY NAME ON THE SCHOOL RECORDS ]
[ I HAD TO USE A FAKE NAME TO GET IN ]
[ HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND ]
Yuki nodded. "No, that's okay. Thanks for telling me."
[ ANY TIME ]
[ I TRUST YOU ]
"Thanks. I trust you too." Yuki replied. "Any way, I gotta go, I need my shower too."
[ Care if I join you? ]
Taylor laughed at Yuki's shock, then used his All Fiction to erase Tika's memories of the attack, including psychological damage, as well as the memories of the other girls. [ Just kidding. ] He told her with his insidious charm. [ You are take things so seriously Yuki. ]
He could almost hear her blush on the other end. [ I'll talk to you later. ] Taylor said. [ Later. ]
"Later." Yuki said, and Taylor hung up.
He then raised his pokegear to take a photo of the skin show Tika was putting on, making sure the camera sound effect was at max volume, and recorded her dismay before they both left the scene.
She'd be the third number in his pokegear.
@sarah morgan: "Yeah, we actually managed to catch a venonat for you just in case, but we realised that you had enough to go with so we didn't leave it with you." Taylor said with a smile. "We're all in this together, right?"
He checked his watch. "Listen, guys, I gotta get going." He said eventually. "I need a shower and some food. But I'm gonna hit the battle tents later, wanna swap numbers so we can meet up later?" He asked, reaching for a black pokegear.
Yuki shared her number from her pokenav, which Taylor saved in his pokegear.
One out of twenty names saved.
Taylor turned to Sarah and looked at her expectantly.
Taylor shook her hand.
"No worries." He said with a disarming smile. "It's just what anyone would've done if they found you like that."
Taylor dissolved the massive screws that had pierced the girls several miles away, and they fell on their backs, unharmed, but regaining consciousness.
"I'm Joey, and this is my friend, Yuki." Taylor said, introducing themselves. He gave a smile to Yuki that told her to play along with this act.
"It's nice to meet you." She said, sharing Sarah's hand. "Joey found me the same way, I guess he's just a helpful guy like that?" She asked, looking at him with a smile.
She had a lot of questions.
But they could wait.
She could trust Taylor, whatever his reasons might be.
@sarah morgan: @DigiDestined: @SamJaz:
After having dumped Sarah somewhere to recover, Taylor and Yuki made their way to the front desk. Taylor had caught a Ghastly and an clefairy, Yuki having obtained a koffing and a tangela.
"Do you have your rental pokemon?" The teacher asked, and Taylor smoothly withdrew a pokeball with the Rental sticker on the front.
[ FOUND IT ON THE WAY BACK ] He explained, handing it in with a wink to Yuki, who looked like she was on the verge of tears.
She actually threw her arms around him and kissed him on the cheek on the way back to the campus.
Taylor neglected to tell her that he'd found that ball in the hands of another first year girl- one that was going home not because she lost her rental pokemon through her own carelessness, but one that was roped into the wrong crowd and was ambushed by the Greatest Loser.
He'd removed an enemy and gained a devoted ally.
Not bad for his first day.
@sarah morgan: Screws burst from the ground and pierced the girls through the backs.
There was no blood, no wounds, but the screws tore through their clothing,, end in their back, and came out of their front and they hurt like hell.
The gas vanished, and the recently caught ghost and poison-types pokemon began to fled, escaping from the controls of their pokeballs.
Only to be caught again by Taylor and Yuki.
[ DO YOU WANT TO GIVE ME A HAND? ]
Taylor asked Yuki, hefting the unconcious Sarah's arm over his neck. Yuki complied, grabbing Sarah's pokeball and recalling Nidorina, carrying her to safety.
@SamJaz: @DigiDestined: @sarah morgan:
Taylor found the young brunette in green in a very sticky situation. She struggled against the mud, but the more she fought, the thicker it got.
Yep, she was screwed.
"Hey!" She shouted. "Thank goodness, gimme a hand!"
Taylor blinked, eyeing the girl up.
"Where's your pokemon?" He asked in a charismatic voice, stepping forward towards her and looking around.
"I lost it when the... when the pinsir were chasing me..." The girl said, and a slow terror fell upon her, adding to her already bad situation. "I lost my rental pokemon... And... my pokeballs..."
The girl stopped struggling, just standing there, waist deep in the mud, on the verge of breaking down into tears.
"I'll be expelled..." She realised. "As soon as I get out of here I'll be expelled..."
Taylor thought the situation over.
He could leave her here.
Or, he could be a nice guy and help out.
Well, nice guys finish last, so why should he?
Because he was the world's greatest looser.
"No, you're not." Taylor said, kneeling down at the edge of the mud pit. "I'm going to help you out of this, and then I'll catch a pokemon for you." He explained, speaking slowly and clearly while she hung onto every word. "It'll be hard, but if we work together we can catch enough pokemon for us both to pass and everything will be fine. But you'll have to do what I say and trust me."
The brunette looked at the young man.
He was pretty good looking, a bit skinny, but he had that determined look that told her he would never let her down.
She reached out her hand. "Okay." She said, calming down significantly. "My name's Yuki."
"Yuki." Taylor said, nodding. "That's a nice name, My name's Taylor."
"Taylor." She repeated, smiling.
Taylor stood up and brought his palms together, and what he did next would change Yuki's life forever.
Pulling his palms apart, a massive screw formed. It was a little thicker than a snooker cue, and once Taylor was finished, about as long. He flipped it in his hand, grabbing the sharp point, and held out the flat end towards Yuki.
She was astonished. "H-how did you..." She asked, her hands slowly moving towards the screw.
Taylor pulled the screw upwards at the last second, holding it above her head, just out of her reach.
Then his smile grew sinister.
[ TAKE YOUR SHIRT OFF ]
Yuki blinked. "Wh-wha?!"
[ YOU CAN GET OUT OF THAT MUD MY WAY AND STAY IN SCHOOL, OR STAY THERE AND GET SENT HOME ]
[ YOUR CHOICE ]
Yuki was terrified.
She was disgusted.
Bringing her shaking, stained hands down, she slowly undid the buttons of her green blouse, gaining speed as she rushed the garment open and pulled it off her shoulder. "Like what you see then, huh?" She snapped, one hand covering her bra and the other holding onto the blouse.
[ PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE SLEEVES AND WRAP YOUR SHIRT TIGHT AROUND THEM ]
She blinked, then looked at the screw.
That spiral running around it... there was no way she could hold onto that with her bare hands. Even if she could grip it, it'd tear her flesh to pieces as he pulled her out.
Taylor really was trying to help.
"S-Sorry about that..." She said, wrapping the muddy cloth around her hands like he said, feeling a bit foolish. Within moments, the shirt was around her fists like a pair of handcuffs. "Ready." She said, holding them up above her head.
Taylor bent his legs, aiming the screw and hooking the wide head through her arms and pulling back to catch her wrists.
[ GOTCHA ]
Heaving with all his might, Taylor pulled. There was a squelching sound as Yuki was slowly lifted out of the mud, but Taylor's less than amazing physique meant that before Yuki was half-way out of the hole, she'd fallen flat on her face in the mud.
Pulling like a fisherman, Taylor dragged her through the mud and onto the shore, rolling her onto her back and wiping some of the mud from her face.
[ YOU OKAY? ]
Taylor asked her, to which she slowly nodded.
"Yeah... thank you..."
[ DO YOU TRUST ME? ]
Yuki nodded again, a bit subdued from the experience.
[ WANNA GO CATCH SOME POKÉMON? ]
Yuki nodded, gettiing to her feet and wiping the worst of the mud off her chest before she started to untangle her shirt.
Then she felt Taylor's hand on her thigh. "HEY!"
[ JUST HELPING GET THE MUD OFF BEFORE IT HARDENS. ] Taylor pointed out.
Yuki glared, then slowed down her breathing. "Oh... thanks..."
This guy was weird.
But he saved her.
And he was going to help her stay in school.
She needed to give this guy the benefit of the doubt more.
Down below her waistline, Taylor grinned.
He'd scouted her weaknesses and manipulated them perfectly.
By the end of the day, Yuki would be one of his most devoted followers.
The first of his special class in this school.
Class Minus 13.
