@Manami: Taylor pondered Tavi's words as she ran ahead.
Did she think he was insane?
Was that how he presented himself to the world?
He couldn't have that.
Taylor stood up and travelled.
All Fiction is a terrifying ability, once one understands it. It is more than merely erasing inconvenient parts of reality. It was the transferral of actual objects, concepts, events or people into the realm of fiction, or the imagination. Storyland, if you will. If left unchecked, taylor's power could render the entire planet a mere fantasy.
Taylor grew up reading his favourite Shounen Jump comics, but as he stood up to school yard bullies, or asked girls out, or studied hard for tests or worked out in the gym, he came to realise something that concerned him.
The stories were not real. But the lessons they taught...
It was all true.
If you are strong, you can beat those you stand up to.
If you have friends, you can succeed in life.
If you're good looking and kind, that girl will like you.
If you can work hard, you can achieve anything.
And these doctrines sickened Taylor to the stomach.
He wasn't strong like Goku. He had no friends, like Naruto. He wasn't good looking or kind like Junpei, and he wasn't gifted to work hard like Kenichi.
He was a loser, an absolute failure.
And the essential element of his fantasy changed, from excitement to recognition.
The heroes didn't really travel that huge distance. The artist just drew them at the start of the journey and at the end, making them look tired at the outcome.
And, that's what Taylor did.
He turned the distance between him and Tavi, into something from Fiction.
"I apologise if I acted out of turn, Miss Mongoose." Taylor said in a charismatic tone, stood behind Tavi in the courtyard as she faced off against three others. "And I also apologise if I'm bringing this up at a bad time, but I'd like to make it up to you. How can I make this right between us?"
