@Haofan123: do we even have Narutards on this site?

Please don't use that term in our community. When folks use that term or any term against particular fandoms, we just segregating ourselves again.

Off-Topic » Is Japan homophobic?

I don't think anyone said this, but as a foreigner in America, I notice these trends:

  • Generally but not always, it's hard for a straight man to love another man sexually, more than a friend. He doesn't want to be seen as homophobic. He does support these relationships, but his main interests will be women.
  • For women, it's more common to see these homosexual relationships between women and men. For heterosexual or homosexual men, they support gay women more than gay men.

That's why I seen in our discussion threads: more guys, straight or gay, watching yuri shows such as Sakura Kiss. I find it strange yet interesting that yuri anime shows have more male audiences while yaoi anime series have more female audiences. Isn't yuri or yaoi anime shows supposed to enpowered those individuals instead serving as fetish candies?

In American shows I seen like Glee, I seen the empowering themes more prominent than anime shows.

Edit:

In conclusion, what I'm saying is that straight men are saying they support equality in fear of being labeled homophobic.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior Discussion

Going back to the Pet Girl of Sakurasou comparisons, this show only focuses on one romantic relationship so far. Pet Girl of Sakurasou focuses on multiple romance relationships. It's interesting to note that Sayaka is good with men while Mayumi is not good with men.

@hitsusatsu11:

Blade and Soul's fight animations and visuals are better than Coffin Princess because of Gainax. I like Coffin Princess due to Toru's way of fighting in the 2nd episode. I do love both series' fight scenes.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Fairy Tail Discussion (Anime)

If they were stalling for the manga, it would makes sense to show more action for the minor characters sort of a better set up for the next episode, Gray vs Rufus. I doubt Gray vs Rufus would take the whole episode.

It was a decent episode, but it still feels short to me.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Irregular at a Magical High School Discussion

Tatsuya shows how much bad ass he is during his patrols. Reminds me of Samurai Flamenco if Masayoshi was competent. The scenes with Miyuki gets jealous of Tatsuya giving more attention to the upper class female students than her was in bad taste. Was her blasting her brother in pity jealously cute? Not for me personally. From Marshal's comment, I can see them poking fun at the sibling love thing.

Off-Topic » Cutting Down on Anime

It's all right. Pretty most folks in this community watch or read 2-3 shows. Folks like myself watch a ton of new shows. I remember commenting on past seasonal guides that's nothing interesting or stands out. That's perfectly normal because each season doesn't bring a lot of originality. Anime pretty revolves around recycling concepts. There are some shows that diamonds in the rough while there are some really hyped up ones (Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill)

For me, I work on the seasonal guides and promoting the anime discussion threads. It's more like a job to watch anime now applying wiki and front news work.

Battles » All out Battle!

I had a talk with Dream about restricting the number of combatants due to Black Demon's matches. We didn't want to alienate any users.

When you use so many groups and use a common title All Out Battle, it's going to generate some dupes.

Edit:

Remove Seven Sea Alliances - You're not going to get much info on them.

Battles » Seven Seas Alliance with Solomon and Aladdin VS Espada

There is not much information on Solomon or Seven Seas Alliance. Shinobu Ohtaka likes to create a lot of characters without going into so much details with them.

@Bigheart711:

That's one cool. We got more nurse cosplay and cat ears. I guess my favorite poster would be Inari Kon Kon in Nyantype Magazine.

@LHWKnight:

If you compared the two Kate posters, the feet one just made me smile for some reason. Yeah, I can't draw either.

@SpeedForceSpider: @Sonata:

I find the Maken-ki! poster interesting. No background at all. I thought it was a vector art at first.

@Dekken:

No problem. With image uploading so slow in the last 2-3 weeks, it's finally tolerable, but it still lagging. I hope to transfer the posters to the character galleries. Takao's poster is pretty cute and funny.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Nanana's Buried Treasure Discussion

@Marshal Victory:

2nd episode was better than 1st one. Made me like the main character better. He was too perverted in the first episode. Found out he likes maids. The thing with traps in anime is that they don't have Adam's Apple, and the VA is always an actress. You can't really tell.

Stand by Me Doraemon » Summer 2013 Trailer: Stand by Me Doraemon Movie

The first 3DCG film for the franchise is co-directed by Takashi Yamazaki (Always, Space Battleship Yamato) and Ryuichi Yagi (Friends: Mononoke Shima no Naki) with a script by Yamazaki. The story is based on the manga's 1st episode "Mirai no Kuni Kara Harubaru to" (All the way from the country of the future), with two of the most popular episodes, "Sayonara, Doraemon" (Good bye, Doraemon), and "Nobita no Kekkonzenya" (Nobita's night before wedding). Judging from the trailer, it focuses on a love story between Nobita and Shizuka-chan.

Stand by Me Doraemon hits Japanese theaters on August 8.
