I think I take about an hour to do episode summaries. Finished Chaika Ep. 12 along with wiki moderation. Now to do One Piece and Fairy Tail summaries. Though, I think I arrived too late. Looking at my Follow Feed. PM me if you need me.

General Discussion » Age Survey in Anime Vice (2014)

@Acura_Max:

Yeah, you're right. I'm thinking of how to use the age survey and Where are you from? thread to paint an image of Anime Vice's demographic and make something out of it. One of the folks PM me a link to Alexa. So far, it's the 18-30 range. However, we got specific countries listed in that thread.

@Acura_Max:

I'm not a brony. I just went into this thread to mess with who's Missing in Action. I admit I like the name Apple Jack because it was the name of one of my favorite cereal. Wow, the audience of Brony Con is like Anime Expo's audience.

General Discussion » Age Survey in Anime Vice (2014)

@Vapovile:

Another purpose of this poll was to see if Anime Vice's community was aging or not. I had this weird theory that after the sale out, we lost a lot of young folks. I felt Tom Pinchuk and Sam Weller's best audience were older folks.

Here's my guess that the one feature that attracts the most young folks under 18 is the battle forums. For wiki editing, I seen more older folks. In contrast to wikia especially Fairy Tail Wikia, their wiki editing group is mostly high school folks.

@sickVisionz:

Sorry, I messed up the age range. Wish I can edit the poll. I would have deleted it, but repost it. Now, it got 7 votes. I feel it mess up the new poll's votes. Didn't want to alienate and make folks feel too old.

General Discussion » When Visiting Anime Vice, What Attracts You to the Site?

@Dekken:

I knew I was missing something. Thought I lumped images with wiki editing. I forgot about the list feature. Good eye. It's too bad I can't edit the poll. I was thinking of aesthetics back when Othus12 mentioned in his Battlation interview. I felt was vague.

Thanks Dekken.

General Discussion » Age Survey in Anime Vice (2014)

Yeah, I forgot about what Taichokage said. A lot of outsider folks said our community doesn't talk about Anime or Manga. They are fan run, riddled with battle threads and forum games, etc.

Edit:

It's ironic that they say fan run when all sites are pretty much run by fans. I consider staff and mods, every day folks who are nerds like everyone.

I messed up the age range.

  • 19-25 is too narrow. I must have added since I was thinking high school and below and college years.

19-30 would have been a better range. I have to mention in the notes since it has a significant effect.

General Discussion » Age Survey in Anime Vice (2014)

@Vapovile:

Oh, I forgot we have users after the Whiskey Media Sale Out. During Anime Vice's birth, this site used to be part of a family of sites that caters to these main interests: Comic Books, Video Games, Anime, TV and Movies, and Technology.

Didn't mean to comment on those sites. Was about to edit them out. You caught me. I still hold some grudges, but I try to be open minded and forget the past.

Those misconceptions came from outside communities, not just Comic Vine and Giant Bomb sites, that Anime Vice was a dead site. The black sheep in the Whiskey Media family. Though, people tend to use red haired child, but I don't understand the reference or like using it since it feels racist.

During the closure of Screened, a lot of folks were making ill comment about Anime Vice and Screened rather than thanking and praising Final Dasa, Acura Max, Callum, MrMazz, CherryBomb, and countless others for doing the best they can in maintaining Screened. These old misconceptions kept coming back from the dead. I appreciate FinalDasa, Hailinel, Turamblar, and others defending the two sites and correcting them. I feel none of our comments change their views.

I never understand why we have segregation based on interests that makes us proud. We are all nerds. There is no need to bash on someone's interests as long as it's not harmful.

Wheaton's Law applies to games but everything fans are interested in.

All of the things that make us weird and strange in the real world.

Those things that people tease us for loving.

Those things that we seem to care about more than anyone else at work and school.

Those things make us who we are.

And when we are at PAX, we don’t have to hide them, or explain them, or justify them to anyone.

We have come here this weekend because just playing games isn’t nearly as fun as playing them together, surrounded by thousands of people who love them just as much as we do.

If you want to read, here are the two threads in GB:

Purpose of this poll is to gauge community interests for a new project I'm doing, Trends in Anime Vice.

General Discussion » Age Survey in Anime Vice (2014)

You don't have to reveal your age. It's all anonymous for the sake of the poll. I consider that as sensitive information especially the younger folks below 18. I wish Anime Vice has the ability to add more to the OP to elaborate the purposes of one's questions.

I had another crazy idea in Anime Vice. It's inspired by the cultural interviews I carried out back in fall 2013 (see An Entire World of Anime Fans! -- THE VICE PIT). This project is Trends in Anime Vice. I'll be doing a lot of survey polls during this month. The purpose is to gather information on the community after seeing misconceptions from outside communities about Anime Vice during the closure period of Screened.

I want to correct their image of our community and to make future projects to expand our audiences, nationality, age, and gender across different factors. To increase awareness and make a better community, so the forum activity, wiki, reviews, etc can increase.

Battles » Battle Forum Rules 2.0. ALL USERS PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!!

@Dream:

I couldn't triple post. I needed someone to make a comment, so I can make a comment. I was wrong. I misunderstood your PM about that user's match up.

The multiple matches within a thread is pretty messy. I know restrictions would alienate a user. The current rule of having at least one anime character is in play.

I'll cancel my proposal.

RPG » The New Viceverse Canon

@Kuma_From_Argentina:

I have changed the edit back. I was doing some thinking about the definitions of the word team and talked with some folks outside of Anime Vice. I said the wrong thing. The wiki environment is different from RPG environment. I heavily stress team work in the wiki community ever since I started out with Fairy Tail in 2010. Anna and I were teammates. None of us were superior or inferior. No leaders were form. Even with the expanded Fairy Tail team and the most recent team, Toriko, there are no leaders.

Looking back at what you said, you misunderstood my intentions. I'm naming specific people for recognition especially since you started the project. I'm not labeling you as leader.

Tag Team Matches' combatants can only be from a maximum of 3 franchises.

Pros of the new rule

  • It's flexible and will not restrict number of combatants.
  • Having only 3 franchises will make reaching a conclusion easier in the threads.

At first, I was thinking 2, but I remember folks used a maximum of three. Three would be the max.

Examples

Everyone is welcome to vote for and against. Please share your thoughts.

Thanks to Acura Max for bumping this thread.

Kusuo Saiki » Saiki Kusuo Respect Thread

@IndridCold:

I'll check it when I get home. I have to finish the simulcast guide for Tom.

It looks great. Wish we have some kind of way to organize images in the OP. Having huge images will lag for some users such as mobile phone users. Later, I'll edit your page and help you stack the images. I won't use spoiler tags because they're ugly and tend to get corrupted. Sometimes, spoiler tags die which I don't know why. I lose a lot of info and text because of these things.

Battles » Cop Clashes!

@blackdemon:

I'm thinking of a new battle rule to suggest. I appreciate your enthusiasm in the battle forums, but I think you make things too complicated with these set matches.

Right now, the types of battle matches that are allowed:

  • Single
  • Tag Team
  • Gauntlet
  • Royale

I have discussed this with you back then, but you have never responded. Yours fall in Tag Team, but it involves too many people from different franchises.

A few users have PM me about having concerns about your threads. I'm not alienating you. I'm sorry if you feel that way. I feel that these battle threads have become more spammy and less productive compared to the battle threads that other folks have posted.

I'm going to push a new rule that will be seen by everyone, mods and regular users.

Tag Team Matches' combatants must be from 2 franchises and no more.

Pros of the new rule

  • It's flexible and will not restrict number of combatants.
  • Having only 2 franchises will make reaching a conclusion easier in the threads.

Please meet me at the Battle Forum Rules 2.0.

Thank you.

@IndridCold:

Yeah, today was really bad for uploading images. Yesterday, it seems to be working. I had a hard time editing the wiki pages today.

It's okay. I'll add this to the Facts and Feats after checking the page for plagiarism since I treat it like a wiki page. It's just standard procedures.
