Off-Topic » Winter 2015: Last Week's Tasks

This is a just a personal list of me to get done before school next week. I already canceled my volunteer commitment at the Day Care Center. I'll be on Anime Vice for more than 10 hours a day, getting these tasks done. For me, I tend to get scatterbrained. I do have checklists for me to stay focused.

Finished

Need to Finish

  • Fate/stay Night, Fate/kaleid, and Fate/zero Image Gallery Updates - Started on Saber, but need to get it done before Spring 2015.
  • Top Anime and Manga 2014 with sickVisionz - Just to finish the anime portion. Finish the manga calcs but there was some issues due to low voter turnout. Have to discuss with sickVisionz.
  • Top Wiki Editor and Reviewer 2014 Panel - I do the same thing I did back in the Anime Vice 2013's Top Reviewers thread.
  • Finish Toriko (Meteor Garlic Arc) and get to Cooking Festival arc for the anime. Attach all characters and associations. Might do summaries. I doubt it I have time.
  • Misc Summer and Fall 2014 projects with their anime cap transfers

@phantomrant:

Thanks, I definitely check it out. Hmm, speaking of wiki, I wish our wiki editors can make a page like. We can't do references to cultural stuff because we are restricted to Franchise, Anime, Manga, and other pages. Might be a fun side project to do one day.

@Dekken:

They never did mentioned her name in the anime. When you create the page, you or you can have me write a note under creation. She was only named in BD or website.

Awesome find by the way.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Cross Ange Discussion

@Marshal Victory:

Check this article:

Viewers of Cross Ange's 13th episode on Saturday night may have noticed something was up with the "new" opening and ending sequences. As the second opening and ending, they mark the beginning of the series' second cour. Both the opening and ending were made mostly by reusing clips from the first cour's sequences, and Japanese fans on social media website Twitter began posting messages of confusion when the episode premiered.

This morning, CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon creative producer Mitsuo Fukuda expressed his regret over the snafu on Twitter. He explained that after seeing episode 13 one more time after work, his blood pressure rose again.

He wrote, "Regarding the opening, rather than saying it was involuntary, it's more the level of, 'I didn't give this kind of order!'" He noted that he absolutely wants to fix this problem by the time episode 14 airs, and explained that there is not much leeway when producing an anime during the end of the year, even though TV channels are still going during the end and beginning of the year. Fukuda wrote that he was extremely regretful about the situation, explaining that the photography process could not catch up to the frames that were already done.

Attentive fans might have expected this situation to come, because around half a week before the episode's airing, Fukuda posted about the bad quality of the opening sequence. He complained that it was not what he imagined. He also wrote that because of the busy production schedule, he could not take any time off for New Year's.

Fukuda also informed fans that the opening sequence featured on television and the one included in the packaged version will be different, with the girls featured in one portion being naked in the home video version. He noted that since it would be boring with lots of censor bars during the television broadcast, the decision was made to put clothes on the characters.

The show's second half premiered on January 3 with new theme songs by Yoko Takahashi (Evangelion, Shakugan no Shana, Ah! My Goddess) and Nana Mizuki. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for home video release in North America.

That's good to hear. Looks like I have to put the comics away since I'm on the last week of break. Probably jump back in the summer. I probably try anything. Thanks for the info.

Yes, it's very influential. Seeing how folks draw stuff is interesting to read.

@LHWKnight:

That's cool. Most arcade games I seen were mostly Street Fighter and King of Fighter. Haven't seen those things in a while.

@EVA_01:

When I was visiting family during Christmas, they were in the Persona rage. I think it was Persona 3. They had a dog that uses Persona. When I saw Iggy who is a Stand user, I realized two things clicked.

I heard this show influenced a lot of things. I haven't seen Fist of the North Star, but I heard from the Tom and the gang. Also, Jojo influences Street Fighter which a lot of our folks loved to play.

I wanted to avoid a taboo subject in this community. If you are curious, here's the thread: What Counts as Anime and Manga in the Wiki. It had a lot of tension and mixed feelings in it.

Don't worry about it. I'm grateful for our conversations and enjoyed it. I do understand where you are coming from. Korra is a good show, and it took risks and did something unique of any animated series out there.

I'm fine with the ending of Korra. I think what the creators had did with ending, restrictions or not was good enough. I'm not interested in signing a petition to alter something that has been done already.

Be careful when you called Korra, a western animation, here in this community. Back then, this site has a struggle with its scope on what's anime or not. We did allowed Korra to be in the wiki here by the skin our teeth.

There were two types of definitions: origin and style.

Avatar is still a western animation and should be produced by a western company like Netflix

What's wrong with it being created by a eastern company? I don't believe only a western company should do Korra. Any company can make Korra if it comes to it for the creators or the fans.

@animehunter:

I disagree with that. In terms of the anime industry, Netflix doesn't really have a solid foothold. They lack the means to stream simulcasts while HULU, Crunchyroll, FUNimation, and others are capitalizing on the business. Netflix is king of movies but the last place when it comes to anime.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Tokyo Ghoul Discussion

Episode 1 of season 2 was fantastic. I do miss the old opening. The new opening is great, but it wasn't as cool. It was more paintings and creepy touching.

Didn't expect Kaneki's biggest decision. Kaneki's new personality change was great and the way he made Ayato his Bitch was amusing. Ayato wasn't amused when the mummy looking girl welcome Kaneki in her group.

Was that the plan to push Kaneki over the edge?
