@ShadowKnight508:

Oh, the otaku girl who loves playing the ero games. Hmm, I think they got her face right.

Have you ever seen a figure with the right face before? I haven't seen good figures with a face that matches their anime and manga counterparts.

Uchoten Kazoku » Summer 2013 Trailer: Uchoten Kazoku

Genre: Comedy

Plot

The teaser outlines the comedy drama's setting in Kyoto, where humans, tanuki (shape-shifting raccoon-dogs), and tengu (long-nosed goblins of Japanese folklore) intermingle. In the Shimogamo family of tanuki, Yasaburō lives for whatever strikes his fancy at the moment.
In this July anime, P.A. Works is adapting a novel by Tomihiko Morimi, the author of The Tatami Galaxy (Yojō-Han Shinwa Taikei) novel that previously inspired a 2010 television anime. Kôji Kumeta (Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, Joshiraku) is providing the original character designs for Uchōten Kazoku — the first time he has done so for a project not based on one of his manga.
Takahiro Sakurai plays Yasaburō (pictured as the boy and girl in the center of the image), the Shimogamos' third-oldest son who sometimes takes the form of a high school girl. Junichi Suwabe plays Yaichirō (far right), the oldest son who is earnest but often weak-willed at the last moment. Hiroyuki Yoshino plays Yajirō, the second-oldest son who often assumes the shape of a frog and and goes off into seclusion by himself at a well. Mai Nakahara plays Yashirō (far left), the timid youngest son. Kikuko Inoue plays their mother (top left), an obsessed fan of the all-female theater troupe Takarazuka. Rounding out the cast is Mamiko Noto as the bewitching girl Benten (topmost) who can be found floating carefreely in the skies.

Angel's Drop » Summer 2013 Trailer: Angel's Drop

Genre: Comedy

The story centers on Botan and Shinobu, two childhood friends who enroll in St. Azumaria Girls' Academy. Their encounter with an "angel" named Un-chan lead to strange things happening in their lives. The manga openly describes itself as covering yuri, hentai, omorashi, and other elements of fetishism not usually seen in shōnen or shōjo manga.

I'll post a summer guide 2013 for the list of trailers soon.

Maid Bride! Don't worry, I'm showing off figures for fun.

I don't remember a blonde girl in Maid Bride.

@Daniel_Newton:

Hmm, Sena has gone from meat to Holstien! (okay, bad joke. At least, I didn't say Sena is showing some udders.) Kobato looks cool.

I think that's all the figures I seen in Crunchyroll.

@AURON570: @Dream:

We should make a concept for Rotoscoping. I haven't watch the show yet. I'm just bumping it with random comments.

Pokémon » Favourite Shiny Pokemon(s)?

A shiny Umbreon would be awesome.

The shiny Pokemon that my little sister, little bro, and I have caught these past years are Furret, Marowak, Bidoof, Tokoal, Magikarp, and Zubat.

General Discussion » (Kinda) New to Anime: Looking for shows

@Surkit:

Also check out the discussion threads at #Anime Vice Discussion Threads where we have spring 2013 anime series. The popular ones right now:

  • Attack on Titan - It's like Highschool of the Dead but with Titans eating humans but no fan service. The animation is a bit like comic book style with the characters having thick outlines.
  • Flowers of Evil - Uses Rotoscoping animation which scares most viewers away, but the story is the catch here. It's about a girl that the main character doesn't like. When the girl catches the main character stealing gym clothes from a girl he likes, the girl black mails him. It's a psychological and creepy show.
  • Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet is a mech series written by Gen Urobuchi who is known for Fate Zero and Madoka Magica. It's about Ledo who is stranded on Earth after a galactic warfare with an alien race. The anime pulls you in when you want to find how the story progresses. The animation is more spectacular on Earth than in space.
  • The Devil is a Part-Timer! - is a romance and comedy series about a devil king stuck in the human world and slaving himself at MacDonalds while figuring out a way to get back to his world.
  • The Severing Crime Edge - another romance and comedy series about Kiri who is a hair cutting fanatic who meets Iwai, a Hair Queen whose long hair is cursed where it cannot be cut. Kiri get stuck protecting Iwai from serial killers who want to murder Iwai for reasons I cannot give you due to spoilers.

I used to watch a few shows when I was around 15. A few were Naruto, Full metal Alchemist, and some gundam. I like the ones that are kinda out there, not too much fan service art and a lot of depth. Any suggestions?

I wish I knew what you like from your original post. I just went with the popular anime series this season. There is not much Shonen series this season. Back in fall, there is a new series called Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic. It's loosely based on Thousand Nights. It's just based on the names. Its about Aladdin who meets Alibaba, and the two go dungeon diving to get rich. Their adventures thrust them into solving society's corruption when an evil organization is pulling the strings. There is some fan service. For depth, it does cover slavery and economics a bit.

Mechs - I'll call He's a mech expert on anime series. He watches a lot of Gundam series. There are mech series this season: Valvrave the Liberator. You should check out Acura Max's Let's Talk about Valvrave the Liberator. I think the Valvrave creator is the one who created Code Geass. I'm not sure. I have to look it up.

Izayoi Sakamaki is a Gary Stu in the series. Asuka Kudou and You Kasukabe had some cool powers. Asuka had the powers to order people to do things while You can talk to animals and use their powers.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Attack on Titan Discussion

@AURON570:

I was wondering how Titans reproduce. I was looking at their weird body.

@Whats_out_the_bag:

I read the manga with the anime's pacing since I'm a wiki editor. I can see the manga's art is rough. I think I like Mikasa's looks in the manga than the anime. Her lip color throws me off. I can't look at her eyes. I keep looking at her lip for some reason. It's pretty common since they have to publish chapters on a weekly or monthly basic.

Episode 3 Spoilers

@rubberluffy:

I love Sasha's scenes. She had guts eating right in front of Keith who was thinking what the hell with this girl. Mikasa teasing her was a bit cute, too.

I hope Sasha doesn't die in this show. I got attached to her. Though, Attack on Titan is a brutal series even more brutal than Highschool of the Dead. HOTD wouldn't dare kill its poster girls: Saeko, the pinked hair chick, and Rei due to fan service and popularity. I got off-tangent a bit.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet Discussion

@AURON570:

That's cool. I should add Hanaharu Naruko's page. It's pretty uncommon that these people work on hentai before on anime and manga. The author of Azumanga Daioh, Kiyohiko Azuma, worked on Inma no Ranbu (hentai) using a pen name before working on Azumanga Daioh. Acura Max and I found a seiyuu who drew hentai manga, Haruki.

It's awesome to see you in the discussion.

@Acura_Max:

Maybe your time travel hypothesis is not wrong. Auron570 brought up the Ice Age thing. Ledo thought Earth was inhabitable for freezing. It might be time travel or a conspiracy (see that Robotics;Notes reference I pulled!)

Spoilers for Episode 3 (Don't Read)

I like the episode especially the pirate Empress, Lukkage. I thought her slaves were victims, but they were her bodyguards. That was a big surprise.

Fans talk about a possible romance element in Gen Urobuchi's work. I thought there was romance in Fate Zero, but I guess they didn't count Kiritsugu and Iris because they're married or so.

Oh, a love triangle or unrequited love
Oh, a love triangle or unrequited love

I can't believe Shoko is still alive. Haruto has this strange ability to transfer himself into people's body to control them. I think the Valvrave needs his blood for Haruto to sync and control the mech well. There's something going on between Rukino and Haruto. I remember he avoided her in one of the scene.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Devil Survivor 2: The Animation Discussion

In episode 3, we lost one guy. I noticed in the ending credits that he was missing. Weird. Got some of the RPG vibe with Hinako's revealing clothing that didn't match everyone else in the group. Kishi's scene with his monsters was a bit surprising but funny. I hope they don't kill Kishi.

The second episode is fun and a bit creepy. The doctor has a loli fetish while the sisters do "pretend kill."

The third episode is fantastic but disturbing. I see we have another romantic interest, Misumi.

#Anime Vice Discussion Threads » Oreimo Discussion

I tried Oreimo's first episode from season 1. It got me interested in the series unlike Haganai's first episode. When she pulled out all those little sister themed eroge, I was pretty weirded out. At the end, she wanted her big brother to play an eroge game. That scene was hilarious.

Check this out!

The 310-millimeter-tall, 1/4 scale figure depicts Super Sonico dressed in a frilly outfit, wearing bunny ears and a tail. The figure was made with extreme attention to detail, including the use of actual fabric to make Super Sonico’s fishnet tights.

The figure is manufactured by FREEing and sculpted by Masato Abe. It retails for 18,800 yen, and will be released in July.
