Welcome everyone! This is the rough draft of the Spring 2014 Guide. My teammates, BigHeart711 and Acura Max, and I post trailers as discussion threads. This was a new change that started back in Fall 2013 with Daniel's suggestions. Starting this spring season, discussion threads are revamped and simplified. There are no wiki guide attached. I'm the main writer who puts the guide together. I will finish this guide and PM Tom to post the final version with my teammates' picks. I'll try to figure out how to make the images, medium size. Thumb size is pretty small.

If you have any suggestions, let me know. Thank you and please check out the trailers. All comments are welcome. Feedback helps the community.

Welcome everyone to this last week of March's DVD and Blu-Ray releases! The titles I'm looking forward to are Maria Holic and Ranma 1/2. I got started on Msria Holic when I saw that AMV on the community dpotlight. Despite being ticked by the trap, I got curious about the anime. It was a fun watch about a girl who breaks into hives when touching boys. I didn't get to finish it. I got into Ranma because of Hal and Samjaz when we did the character spotlight.

I would love to hear your recommendations on these series. All comments are welcome. Thank you.

Disclaimer: I'm just promoting the official release and the publishers. I'm not selling you anything. This is to combat piracy and get fans to support the official release.

Some things never change: Ame no Kisaki, that famous and exclusive boarding school, still doesn't accept boys, and Kanako, Kisaki's most romantically unfortunate student, still doesn't accept them either. (They give her the hives. Literally.) Sadly, that means that Kanako's still trying to connect with anyone of the same sex, and having the usual horrid luck.

Kanako's still in imminent peril of dying from the constant nosebleeds she gets from being over-stimulated by the presence of her fellow classmates. She's still forced to endure the tragedy of sharing a room with the school's most beautiful girl who is, of course, still a guy in drag. Poor Kanako! She came hoping to find love and happiness, and all she's found is misery, frustration and a level of desperation so great that she'll even take a chance on a sleepover in a dorm filled with deathtraps.

Their new forms cause nothing but confusion at the Tendo dojo, where Soun Tendo is waiting to introduce one of his three daughters to Ranma - as his fiancee! When a Knight and a Dragon meet and fall in love, the result is Mink, a precocious young female who's half human, half dragon and all trouble! Exactly how much trouble? Well, in consideration of the fact that having vestigial wings and a tail isn't a problem most teenage girls have to bear, one can perhaps cut our heroine a little slack.

However, when Mink insists on compounding her difficulties to infinite proportions by falling in love with handsome pop star - and professional Dragon Slayer - Dick Saucer, she really has put her heart before her head! Talk about problem dates! Will this turn out to be a love story where the hero really does get the girl... on the end of his sword? Contains OVA episodes 1-2.

Welcome to the late Quick Picks! Normally, I post this at Anime Vice, but the site has been lagging. I posted here, so I transfer it easily. This blog is to promote the manga industry by getting you guys and gals to support the official release.

I'm not familiar with any of these manga series this week. Going off synopsis and covers, I say UQ Holder and March Story appeals to me because of promises of getting into some fantasy action. Upon seeing Genshiken Season 2 manga, it's rare to see some college slice of life manga series. In the anime and manga industry, there are tons of series set in high school. It's great to see some series set in college. Finally, Mayo Chiki doesn't seem like my cup of tea. The cover features a really young girl. Heh, I don't think I'm into that.

All comments are welcome. I would love your two cents on these series. Thank you.

Sources: All plot summaries and data are from ANN's Manga Releases page. Thanks to PikaHyper for uploading the English covers. He's a cool wiki editor who contributes a ton in Comic Vine, but he also helped us Anime Vice folks back then.

Disney and Lucasfilm are excited to announce that principal photography on Star Wars: Episode VII, directed by J.J. Abrams, will commence May 2014, and will be based at London's historic Pinewood Studios.
This will be the first Star Wars film to start shooting in the month of May. Lucasfilm has documented the first day of principal photography for every installment of the Star Wars saga:
March 22, 1976 -- The first day of principal photography in Tozeur, Tunisia, for Star Wars. A crew of 130 ventures into the desert in 42 trucks and cars, including eight army trucks full of equipment. The first shot was completed at 9:35 a.m.
March 5, 1979 -- The first day of principal photography in Finse, Norway, for The Empire Strikes Back. The crew endures the subzero temperatures, frostbite, heavy winds, and avalanches to pull off the first shot within 65 minutes of setup.
January 11, 1982 -- The first day of principal photography at EMI Elstree Studios outside of London for Return of the Jedi. Although inside a studio, the set must weather a sandstorm in a scene that would ultimately be cut from the film.
June 26, 1997 -- The first day of principal photography at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England, for The Phantom Menace. Ending a long absence from the director's chair, George Lucas shoots a sequence in a bluescreen-lined set with actors Ian McDiarmid and Ray Park.
June 26, 2000 -- The first day of principal photography for Attack of the Clones at Fox Studios Australia. In their new home Down Under, the production crew once again photographs actor Ian McDiarmid three years to the day after Episode I started shooting.
June 30, 2003 -- The first day of principal photography for Revenge of the Sith at Fox Studios Australia. The first scenes shot feature Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, respectively, along with R2-D2.
It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time.

They say that the bathroom is the most dangerous room in the house, but when a beautiful, naked alien princess teleports into Rito Yuki's bathtub, it's a definite case of rub-a-dub-doom! Having no idea that the planet Develuke even exists, Rito is completely unaware that touching a girl's breasts there is how they propose marriage. Consequently, due to some slippery tile and some extra-prominent female appendages, Rito's suddenly on his way to being a member of the royal family.

Unfortunately, as hot as Lala is, this is one royal family no one wants to become a part of given that her father, King Develuke, bears a suspicious resemblance to the devil! And then there's the little issue of the very nice human girl that Rito's already interested in, who's probably not going to be too understanding of his sudden involvement in intergalactic affairs. Will Rito become the next king of the galaxy? Will he learn the secret of the Big Bang?

Upotte!! - Complete Collection (DVD)
  • Distributor: Sentai Filmworks
  • Suggested retail price: $69.98 (Blu-ray), $59.98 (DVD)

Kiss kiss, bang bang! The arms race takes on a startling new development when the arms come with heads, legs, and very feminine bodies attached! Yes, at Seishou Academy every girl is literally a lethal weapon, and they're all gunning for the top shot at getting their own personal serviceman! Needless to say, it's going to be difficult for newly recruited human instructor Genkoku to adjust to working with a living arsenal of high caliber cuties with tricky names like FNC (Funko), M 16A4 (Ichiroku), L85A1 (Eru), and SG 550 (Shigu). Especially since many have hair triggers and there's no bulletproof vest that can stop a really determined co-ed!

Genkoku will have to rewrite the operator's manual on student/teacher relationships, and pray that his job description won't include having to field strip and reassemble one of his cadets in the dark. But unfortunately (for him) FNC's already thinking about becoming his personal weapon, and she usually gets what she aims for! et ready for explosive situations, amour-piercing rounds, cheap shots galore and one very shell-shocked homeroom instructor!
