Welcome, we got a large selection of manga releases! Unfortunately this week, I had my first week of school as well as working on the main Winter 2015 Simulcast Guide. I just posted a table. Sorry, I wanted to post a traditional list with all the cool manga covers along with the summaries. I don't have a lot of free time.

New Manga I'm Excited

  • Akame ga Kill volume 1 just got released this week. I love the anime series that aired back in fall 2013. Wished the anime's ending was faithful to the manga.

Familiar Series I Would Recommend

  • Soul Eater - If you love battle Shonen genre, check this one out. It revolves around an academy that teaches meisters and demon weapons to become good partners and take down bad guys. (A general summary)
  • Terra Formars - If you are good with gore, this manga series is about a group of folks imbued with animal, insect, and various organism powers. Their mission is go to Mars and get specimens to research a cure on a disease. Their specimen are giant, killer, humanoid cockroaches.

Unfamiliar Series I Would Try

  • Monster - I saw the genres on this one: thriller and mystery along with human experimentation. Sounds like a good dark story to read up.

I would love to hear your recommendations on the rest of the manga series featured this week. All comments are welcome. Thank you.

Disclaimer: I'm just promoting the official release and the publishers. I'm not selling you anything. This is to combat piracy and get fans to support the official release. All summaries are from ANN.

Welcome everyone to another beautiful round of DVD/Blu-Ray releases! We got a good selection.

The Shows I Want To Try

Shows I Recommend

  • Valvrave the Liberator - This one is hard. The only show I recognize this week. It's not a show for everyone only for mech fans who are laidback when stories and characters are thrown out of the window during season 2. Season 1 I definitely recommend folks to try. When season 2 rolls by, the series becomes a train wreck. Questionable things were done, characters became dislikeful (making it hard to sympathize with), and the ending feels unsatisfied.

I would love to hear your recommendations on these series. All comments are welcome. Thank you.

This is a general outlook of what our community's wiki editors are working on. The purpose of this blog is to promote communication and let new and old editors know if there is an active project and what type of wiki work is being done. This will prevent editing conflicts as well as establishing new teams.

Please let me know if I miss anyone. Thank you.

Welcome everyone! I'm here to promote the wiki community and our best group of wiki editors from this year. I had interviewed folks in 2013, but I never got to post it. I will include those, too. I only posted the Anime Vice 2013's Top Reviewers without doing any interviews. I just did it based on their reviews, their accomplishments, and my experiences with them to show what kind of person they are. This blog will be the same thing, but I will post interviews I had done in 2013. We did have a poll for the community to choose their favorite wiki editors and reviewers. We had a higher voter turnout, but it wasn't enough. It's all right since the wiki community is more active and less competitive in the wiki rather than forums.

Here's the Wiki Editor's Archive 2014 where I tried my hardest to include every wiki editor in 2014, major or minor contributions. I wanted to show everyone who worked hard and spend time to contribute to our community. Please check that out.

Our wiki community is very international because our folks are around the world. One last thing, I didn't include wiki mods because these individuals are already outstanding, hard working folks. They are mods because of their achievements and community involvement.

Veteran Wiki Editors

Well, the feature that attracted me the most when I discovered the site was that you can have your own gallery, and by adding your images to the corresponding wiki page you can contribute to the site, both sides win. Also back in the day, completing quests was a lot of fun and it encouraged me to start making my first wiki edits.

In general I enjoy uploading volume covers, screenshots and profile portraits for my favorite characters. The lists that I have to collect the personal info of anime girls also encourage me to create pages for the characters that had not been added yet.

2013 Interview

Dekken is a hard working wiki editor who specializes in images, and he works on a big project that involves documenting measurements of anime and manga characters. He shows us that wiki editing doesn't just involves writing articles, creating pages, and attaching pages. He helps build our image database as well making awesome, fun lists that connects these wiki pages. He shares that he loves girls with blinding bangs in this list. Dekken is a part of major team wiki projects such as Akame ga Kill, Kill la Kill, and One Piece.

Bigz007 is an awesome wiki editor who specializes in images and compiling data in concept wiki pages such as filler and illusion. In addition to wiki editing, he creates fun lists that has a certain characteristic such as lollipop or ridiculous number of swords.

He also has done a considerable amount of work for team wiki projects such as Kill la Kill, Magi, and Eyecatch. Supplying images and adding templates such as story boxes.

I think I was just browsing the site a bit, noticed an entry and remembered having done some (stitched) screenshots for it. Seeing it lacked a summary, character descriptions, etc. as well I thought something like "Why not try to write a bit for that, just adding some pictures isn't really helping all that much."

Do I? ;) Well, creating something can be fun. And it kind of feels it might be helpful to others. Besides, if it's editing the wiki of something I like, it's fun to kind of revisit that series when for example writing a summary for an anime episode of it, or a character description. Plus, for something like this, you need to get a bit deeper into it, look a bit more at what's going on. You might notice things you wouldn't notice when just watching/reading it.

2013 Interview

Demonic13 is another great user who wrote volume and episode summaries for Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho. He also helped out with wiki tasks such as Rail Wars. He also worked in the Hentai wiki project with several other users, helping write up the article as well attaching the page to anime and manga series. In his spare time, he helps Dekken with the body measurement lists by uploading scans to the character galleries. He also has an account (NSFW) at an image database.

BigHeart711 is a big fan of Shonen, Magical Girl Shows, and pretty much any genre. He is an avid wiki editor who specializes in episode summaries and concept pages for Wooser and Pokemon. He is a valuable friend to Taka because the two are partners in crime during the start of the new anime seasons. The two started in 2012 and currently adds discussion threads as well as promoting new anime. He often visits the discussion threads, the Pokémon Video Game Club (sharing cool pics of his adventures), and pretty much any forums. He loves to share his experiences in anime conventions such as Anime Weekend Atlanta and Momocon (example: ADW Lost Episode: My Day at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013 ). He wishes folks to enjoy their first time at a convention.

MadnessReaver specializes in various Manhwa and History's Strongest Disciple characters. He does work on any wiki pages. He is part of the Akame ga Kill team wiki project where he helps write character pages. His best page is Esdeath. He also makes lists with tropes and themes such as high level pain tolerance and just look what fate did to us.

Yusuke52 is one of the major wiki editors in Bleach, Avatar, and Toriko. For Toriko, he's is part of a huge wiki team. He specializes in writing character pages and compiling data in concept pages such as Capture Level and Kido. Also, he cleans a lot of manga scans for Bleach and Toriko which benefits the battle community whose members love these Shonen series. Besides wiki editing, Yusuke52 is quite skilled in Photoshop as he spends his free time making cool wallpapers.

DestinyHeroKnight is a long time wiki editor who occasionally partakes in the battle forums. One of his long time and biggest wiki projects is the Weekly Shonen Jump (US). He fills out the chapters and attaches tons of associations to these anthology magazines. He advocates anti-piracy along with several users and always promotes it. (I remember he once hosted a contest to hand out a free Viz Media Alpha membership. I can't find it) When he blogs, he promotes other's blogs, too. He loves to share his thoughts on the best manga fights. He also promotes new, upcoming anime series as well as supporting front page reviews such as Foxx's reviews on One Piece.

New Editors

(Note: There is a very detailed blog on his wiki editing experiences. Please see Wiki Warriors Taka & Tai. I'll briefly go over his background and achievements)

Taichokage is a battle veteran who won best battle user two times, December 2013 and November 2014. He loves to debate in the battle forums as well as discussing manga and anime. His favorite discussion thread is Toriko. In his free time, he likes to make lists of anime gunners and archers. He has listed his top 12 Shonen franchises of all time. During 2014, he had no computer and often traveled to the library for almost half a year to help his Toriko teammates. He specializes mainly in character pages. He had written over 100 Toriko character profiles for the wiki team project. He is also part of the Seven Deadly Sins and Magi wiki team projects.

ForgottenOne is a wiki editor who specializes in Medaka Box, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and Toriko, and he is part of the Toriko and Jojo team wiki project. His best Toriko page is Full Course Menu which was part of the Toriko wiki task theme. He and his teammates help clear out these bounty tasks. In addition to wiki, he enjoys video games, and some of them include the Zelda and Pokemon franchise. He has a small list of summer edits he had done.

Reiyo is a new wiki editor who just started back in Fall 2014 or so. He primarily works on DBZ and Durarara. He is passionate about his character wiki pages. He also debates in the battle forums, too. He proudly supports his community by voting for his friends as well giving recognitions to folks who celebrate their achievements. He created a list of bad ass Durarara characters.

AgentFakku is a wiki editor who primarily focuses on ecchi and Hentai wiki pages, and he was a valuable teammate in the Hentai wiki project, helping write up examples as well as attaching wiki pages. He celebrates his achievements of creating a ton of Hentai pages. He loves making dirty battle threads.

Thank you everyone for reading! Please support our wiki editors.

Welcome everyone! We had a little poll for you guys and gals to vote. The plus side is that we had an increased voter turnout. The bad news was that not enough votes to pick out the best user. It's okay since it was hard to vote for your favorite reviewer and wiki editor. I know we have a small community. We do with what we can. Just like the Anime Vice 2013's Top Reviewers and Screened 2013's Top Reviewers, I write up about a handful of users because I can't pick one person which wouldn't be fair. This way, we promote more folks and the community.

Before I did this blog, I recorded as much reviewers and wiki editors in an effort to spotlight everyone in the archives:

This will save time in linking reviews and wiki pages since you can refer to the archives!

I have 2 categories to spotlight more folks. I tried to read a lot of reviews to get a glimpse of their style as well as talking about the reviewer through small interactions I had or completely stalking them their profiles! and see what they have on their profile page: image galleries, wallpapers, etc. Yes, I'm the biggest stalker in this community.

Quick Fun Facts to Share:

  • Dream has written the most reviews in 2014 and the most reviews in anime, a total of 49.
  • Both Waezi2 and SnowyMountain has written the most reviews in manga, a total of 10.
  • While each manga review in 2014 was done once for their respective series, the anime had some popular reviews. The following had 2 reviews each: Guilty Crown, Sword Art Online, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Tokyo Ghoul, and Akame ga Kill.

These are the reviewers who started reviewing before 2014.

  • 5 reviews

He's a member of the battle and RPG community who frequents the discussion threads. He loves light novels particularly the harem, ecchi kinds. He once started a theme of battle threads by himself, mostly High School DxD. His reviewing style is informal as well as having an inconsistent format in his reviews. Sometimes, his reviews completely focuses on one aspect like characters while some have a balanced mix. He knows his audience and who to recommend to.

  • 1 review

He's an avid blogger, Katmic.blogspotwho shared his experiences with anime culture in Uganda (The Anime Fan's Experience in Africa). He is an avid Shonen fan who also explores different genre. He's a big Shonen fan because he reviews Shonen manga series such as Claymore, Magi, Seven Deadly Sins, and more on a weekly basis through his blogs. He does partake in the battle forums, front news, and discussion threads.

His reviewing style is very intimate sort of like story telling because he enjoys talking about how he got into a show. He is very organized with his layout, using headers. He can write very long reviews in order to show his readers how passionate he is and how much analysis he will put in to make sure his readers understand where his perspective on the manga or anime is.

  • 6 Reviews

Kino88 is a quiet user who only partakes in the front news. Frequents on ANN a lot. I believe he enjoys ANN writer, Rebecca Silverman. (My memory is bad. I recall Kino88 mentioning a reviewer from ANN). He doesn't have a computer, so he types all his reviews on a phone which is quite astounding. For him to review anime under those conditions is very admirable. His reviewing style is informal and personal. He shares his thoughts on the show's elements as well as mentioning on how he got into an anime and if he was going to stay with the show or not.

  • 17 Reviews

SnowyMountain is a Screened reviewer who wrote a ton of reviews, and he wrote most of the Screened 2013's Top Reviewers. He is a very community oriented user especially in Screened and To Hollywood Beyond Wikia. His reviewing style is very blunt as he rates series very hard. Most of his reviews are commonly 0 stars to 3 stars. He doesn't hold back in his reviews especially in ecchi and action intensive franchises. He explores all genres.

  • 49 Reviews

Dream is a highly respectable battle mod and the user with the most reviews and recommendations in this community. He has an MyAnimeList account, ggultra2764, which has his reviews and stats on his shows. Next to Donwun (or surpassing him), he has the largest history/most viewed anime lists out there. He has shared his experiences with the anime culture and industry in the northeast region of United States of America.

His reviewing style is informal, blunt, and analytical. He is opened minded and articulate as he breaks apart a show by its parts, plot, focus, characters, and lasting impressions. Like the battle forums, he can be indifferent to the shows he reviews. He also brings in reviews, his expertise on the industry, culture, and news events from Japan or America, those influences on the popularity on the anime.

These guys started in 2014!

Delphic is a Comic Vine member who visited Anime Vice. He mostly reviews mecha and ecchi anime series. His reviewing style is informal, passionate, and casual. His reviews have a consistent layout. He doesn't hold back on the ecchi anime reviews.

  • 10 Reviews

He is an avid Comic Vine member from Denmark who mainly reviews manga series. He writes short reviews with a consistent layout, a summary, thoughts on the manga, and recommendations. He likes to add interesting tidbits about the manga and the mangaka.

  • 3 Reviews

He is a battle veteran who won best battle user in December 2014 and March 2014. He loves Shonen genre the most especially Toriko and Bleach. He enjoys opening discussions about Toriko such as YOUR FULL COURSE MENU? and Capture Level which promotes his Toriko wiki teammates' best wiki pages in the Toriko wiki project. He is grateful for getting folks into Toriko. He names these users, WayBig1010101, Vapovile, and Kobra678. In 2014, he started his own Youtube channel called Othus Vice where he makes reaction videos on his favorite Shonen manga series as well as recommendation vids. Because of his influence in the community, others like Sonneko asked him for his expertise in starting Youtube channels. His reviewing style is short, condensed reviews. He doesn't get into much details. He knows his audience and passionately recommends his shows.

Thank you everyone for reading. I try to be fair and pick a lot of users. I picked out folks who were passionate and helpful to others as well as hard working. For those who reviewed a lot of shows, I included them. I know we had a lot of new users who wrote their first reviews because of WayBig's influence with the Anime Survey and Reviews (Summer 2014). I highlighted their achievements in the archive.
