Frieza only core busted Namek because he held back:
That's a massive contradiction though. The power difference. He held back destroying Namek to survive the blast (which he survived anyway; how did he not know he'd have survived?). Yet, anything first form Frieza could throw at ssj Goku would have done nothing in terms of damage. Goku could have deflected it away easily. So if final form Frieza's power was multiple times more power than his previous forms, yet holding back would have had to be below the power of his first form, which Goku could have easily stopped. It makes no sense.
I can't help but find it funny that someone with a Kid Goku avatar would reach so far to downplay DBZ.
Kid Goku from Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball is easier to accept when breaking reality since it is more fantasy. I do not like the Z version of Goku. I'm not down playing it. I don't accept most of what characters say. Majority of the time its to big themselves up right before they are defeated. People believe what they want to believe. If a character says something, 2 groups of people will have different views on it. 1, will accept what the character says. 2, will not until they see proof. I fall into the category of the latter.
As for the topic itself it depends on who is making the statement, who the characters is talking about and in what context, For example Whis' statement about Bills:
Whis warns everyone to be careful what they say; if anything rubs Beerus the wrong way, he will destroy the entire solar system in no time at all.
This statement should be accepted because:
1. The one making it is Whis, Bills' martial arts master and attendant for thousands of years, therefore he should have a deep knowledge on what Bills is capable of.
2. Considering the way Whis said it it's likely Bills has gotten annoyed and destroyed solar systems in the past.
3. Bills' job as the God of Destruction is to destroy planets and stars therefore it's logical that he's able to destroy solar systems.
4. Whis isn't boasting nor does he have any reason to lie, he's just giving everyone a warning of what Bills is capable of when angry.
That character of Bills and co, their ability to destroy solar systems would make sense to me more than the other characters. Since Bill is a God. His feats back his power up. While Supreme Kai's ability as a God is pathetic.
Animé/manga use over-dramatic action scenes. More so than it's comic books counter-part. If science gets in the way of the story in animé/manga, they would bend it or even break it. However people will try to make sense of it when they should just accept that it is just fantasy.
