I can't recall the exact moment it happened.  I can tell you, though, that it was a momentous occasion.  Maybe it was the endless fetch quests that permeate the genre.  Maybe it was the endless training arcs.  Regardless of what it was, I lost the love I had for the standard shonen manga.

The loss was crushing at first.  What is one to do without a weekly does of Bleach?

A brief re-examination of that previous statement will most likely give you all the reason you need.  Simply give the title a lower-case "b" and you'll understand.

Furthermore, what does a fan turn to once the weekly releases lose their luster?

I found solace in Kaori Yuki's Angel Sanctuary and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's Neon Genesis Evangelion.
