Just Manga » Going from paperback to digital

So a conversation I had with my friend led us to wondering......  There are still plenty of people who buy mangas one way or another, and there are thousands who go to online scantalation sites to read Jumps and so on the week they are released in Japan.

SUGOI BOOKS is releasing an app that lets you buy digital chapters on your phone/ipad and Square Enix is doing something similar, so how many of you would prefer to buy digital versions of mangas and support companies that way, over buying the paperback, or screw both and just read it online and thats it?

Conventions » What cons are you going to (or went to) in 2011?

4 months past due but using http://www.animecons.com/events/ is a good place for everyone to see what cons are nearby them.

I've decided to attend AM2 this year to see Scandal live as well as one of the art directors for studio Ghibli. I will be missing the Hatsune Miku concert which isnt too big of a loss for me, but hey my gf made the final decision since one of the people who worked on Sailor Moon will be there.

Conventions » What are you attending this year?

Pretty crazy July:

I will be attending E3 next week, July I will be attending AM2 since I get to see Scandal, Kanon x Kanon, Miho Shimogasa and the special events since its a free con.
I will be at AX for a few hours only to see the Hatsune Mku concert with a friends badge but still will be a fun 4 days.

I missed out on Fanime so I need to make up for no Flow

Conventions » What cons are you going to (or went to) in 2011?

@sickVisionz said:
" @SpikeValantine: That's a lot.  Off-topic: is CES open to the public? "
Sick I might be going to more but so far that's all I have planned at the moment, and no CES is only for industry people, big companies who are looking to carry new tech or items, and Press.

And as for the picture, its not as bad as all the actual guys who try to dress like female vocaloids, or other female parts can be very disturbing......I'm doing AM2 since its a free con so save me money between Fanime, E3 and Comic Con

Conventions » What cons are you going to (or went to) in 2011?

Fanime, Sakura con, and either Anime Expo or Am2 (since they are on the same date).

I missed Anime LA since I went to CES so sad about that.

Just Anime » Durarara Dvd Release

probably one of the best animes (should of been longer) in the last few years that I've seen since it seemed like a simple anime but became a nice action, sci fi and trippy anime which made it cool. during Anime Expo 2010 it was announced it would get a US release and we finally get that at the end of this month. The anime will have both English and Japanese voices that include Johnny Yong Bosch and Yuri Lowenthall but only be available via Rightstuff and Bandai store.

Just Anime » Crunchyroll Adds GoLion

Yea I never finished the US version till like a yr and a half ago when I bought the DVD set so I forgot it was 72 episodes.

I am already on episode 43 in GO Lion watching happily and the changes are pretty simple to see and I think Go Lion is much better in so many ways, but I do consider them different series now. Each episode well now you will prob do the same thing, so you can probably thank Crunchyroll for that haha

Just Anime » Crunchyroll Adds GoLion

haha your better off getting the 2 week free trial and trying to fit 51 episodes in 14 days. I think that's what I am going to do but what are the other top 4 franchises my guess Gundam shall be one of them.

Just Anime » Fullmetal Alchemist Movie Trailer

Kinda sad was hoping for that empty arc from the end of the series to the credits where they are older married and with kids....

But regardless I still want to see this I am a huge Hagane fan so my excitement is high

Just Anime » Crunchyroll Adds GoLion

are we talking about Voltron?! yes and no.

King of Beasts GoLion is the original Japanese version aired back in the 80's in Japan, eventually the series was be localized to the US but suffer very heavy edits including names, censorships of gore and deaths, even changing an arc over to interest american audiences. While Voltron is still awesome GoLion is something not all Voltron fans have seen and there are two ways to watch it.

!. find the Media Blasters release on their website which is split into a 3 part collection at 32 bucks a pop
or 2 watch it at Crunchyroll....problem with that is only episode 1 is free to everyone with the rest of the 51 episodes free in 90 days.
