Hey everybody! It's been over a month since I've done a Dunce Cap episode but fear not as once the timing works out I will get together with some fellow Anime Vice users to bring on-topic Dunce Cap episodes back to life. Until then I am doing a 7 part Off-Topic segment on one of my favorite book series: Artemis Fowl! This is part 1 aka book 1 and the title is simply 'Artemis Fowl' and is by New York Times Best-Selling author Eoin Colfer. If you are curious about the series feel free to ask me about it.

That's right. I'm an addict....

A BAKUMAN ADDICT!

It started with the anime. I was so enthralled by the story. It felt like I was home within the fictional creation. The characters popped out at me along with the animation. And the comedy was simple, normal, and classic. I would wait with so much anticipation for each episode. Once the new year started I began gathering the manga. I now have all 6 volumes currently released in the US. However, that was not enough. The fact that I just bought Vol. 5-6 and read them first out of all my recent purchases (and have yet to read any of the others) didn't cut it.

I knew what I had to do. I had to have more and there was only one way to do it. So I went to the internet. It was pretty easy to find a site that had up to the most recent chapter scanned. From there I started reading where Vol. 6 left off. I have become so entranced by it. Shujin is like my kindred spirit. I'm not an artist so I can only come up with stories. I'm ok with that. But before I knew it I was reading everything on every page. I've hardly been paying attention to anything else. Hours at a time would pass and I'd only have a volume's worth covered. But that's fine because I want to absorb every detail I can. I can expect nothing less from the duo behind Death Note.

I'm on Chapter 127 of the 143 currently out. None of this reading has been in vain, though. I've grown to have a number of questions that I would like to research and write an article for. But my thoughts are pretty mush right now since this is my second blog of the day. I'll see if I can get an LOL article done later. Peace!

 More! More! More!
 More! More! More!
Am I a spendthrift? Probably. But I can't help taking advantage of Borders now having manga at 40% off. If I could spend the money I'd buy a lot more but I really shouldn't even be doing this. lol Anyway, I just got back from the store and I have 8 more volumes added to my collection.

This brings my total manga to 64 volumes. That's a lot for just starting this year. For publishers, I have 1 Del Rey, 1 Tokyopop, 2 Yen Press, 2 Viz Media, and 2 Vertical. The 2 by Vertical are the same title and complete the 3 Vol. series. I'll get on with telling y'all what the titles are.

In the front are Vol. 2 of Dorohedoro, Vol. 2-3 of Peepo Choo (complete), and Vol. 3 of Highschool of the Dead. In the back row is Vol. 4 of Fairy Tail, Vol. 1 of Zone-00, Vol. 3 of Claymore, and Vol. 2 of Jack Frost. I had never heard of or seen Zone-00 before but from flipping through it I thought I'd give it a shot. I could have gotten through Vol. 9 of Claymore but couldn't convince myself to do it. The same goes for Jack Frost as I could have gotten through Vol. 5. Could have even purchased through Vol. 12 of Fairy Tail.

But that's what I have so let me know what you think Vicers!

 You jealous yet?

BAM! As many of you know, Borders is going out of business. Also, some of you may remember that I said I was going to make manga my priority this year. The above picture further proves I'm doing what I said. I got 8 of the above manga at 30% off and 1 at 25% off (because I bought it last week and RightStuf didn't have it). In fact, 30% off makes the manga cheaper than RightStuf before tax and only a couple cents more afterwards. So if y'all are a bit like me and really want the stuff in your hands instead of waiting a couple days I suggest going to your nearest Borders store and picking up what you want/can before they run out!

On to the good stuff now. My manga collection after this purchase totals 58 volumes. 4 of the volumes in the picture complete 2 series, which brings me to a total of 4 complete manga series (all of which don't have an anime) that tally to 23 volumes. All right, all right, all right! I'll tell you what I exactly got.

In the front row are Vol. 2-4 of B.Ichi (complete). In the top-left corner are Vol. 6 of BioMega (complete), Vol. 2 of Toradora, and Vol. 5 of Ultimo. Aaand in the top-right corner are Vol. 5-6 of Bakuman and Vol. 3 of Fairy Tail. That about does it for me. Look forward to me talking about these and other great manga and anime in upcoming Dunce Cap episodes. I can't wait to read Bakuman because it will be the first time I've read a manga further than its anime (that is ongoing).
