Every anime I've seen to completion

Took a while, but I feel confident in saying that this is every single anime I've ever seen to completion or long running series that I've seen all of and still watch on a regular basis. Everything before Kemono no Souja Erin is in ABC order. After that it's by the date that I finished it.

1. Space Pirate Captain Harlock: The Endless Odyssey

9/3/2010 Good series. It took me forever to get around to completing it and the ending felt a bit rushed, but I'm glad I let myself get introduced to the world and the characters of Leiji Matsumoto.

2. Highschool of the Dead

I finished this and for some reason didn't add it here. Nothing mind blowing but it delivered what I hoped it would, which was Dawn of the Dead with anime characters, and I looked forward to it's release every week.

3. Shakugan no Shana S

10/06/2010 Shana gets better and better with each season/iteration. This and the Kurenai OVA are like polar opposites. That one had production values that were way less than the series while Shana blows the animation of its regular series out of the water.

4. Mitsudomoe

10/14/2010 I really enjoyed this one. When I first saw the preview I was a little worried about how loli/pedo it would be but luckily those fears were completely unfounded. If you ever wondered what a raunchy/gross-out version of Minami-ke would be like, this show is for you.

5. Cat Planet Cuties

10/21/2010 I originally wrote the show off but it ended up as good example of why you should never judge a book (or anime) by it's cover (or press release photos).

6. Katanagatari

12/13/2010 It took a year and I could write pages about how much I've enjoyed watching this every month, but I'll just say that I love this show and it's one that will stick with me as a favorite for a while.

7. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

12/24/2010 This is definitely up there when it comes to anime that I had the most fun with. Good series. Hopefully it gets licensed over here, although I plan on getting the Japanese BDs regardless.

8. The Tatami Galaxy

12/28/2010 I stalled on this one for a long time but I finally finished it. Good series as a whole, although the repetitive nature of it made me take a multimonth break.

9. Amagami SS

12/28/2010 Pretty good show. Reminds me of stuff like True Tears. Outside of Nana, it seems like the only 100% romances that I like are all based off of dating sims.

10. Heaven's Lost Property Forte

12/29/2010 Goofy fun with a helping of raunchiness thrown in for good measure.

11. Shiki

12/30/2010 I was impressed by how this series constantly seem to do a big reveal that made me wonder how they'd keep in interesting if the mystery is revealed, yet they always found a way to keep building and adding mysteries without it coming off as ridiculous. What I did find ridiculous was the idea that you're supposed to feel sympathetic for *spoilers* vampires who came to town for the sole purpose of murdering every living being in that town. It felt a little bit like the show was saying, "It's so unfair that the villagers didn't just sit by and get mercilessly slaughtered or turned into blood thirsty serial killers. Shame on them. All those vampires wanted to do was come and live in peace while slaughtering the entire town for food and fun." Haha, gimme a break. Great series though.

12. Otome Yokai Zakuro

1/5/2011 Good series. I thought it was really sweet and cute at times but had some nice dark moments and surprisingly good fights. I didn't think this'd be the type of show to put so much effort into combat but they went crazy like a shounen series does on a high profile battle.

13. Eden of The East

1/20/2011 I thought this show was ok but a lot of things about it came off as goofy and cheesy to me.

14. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)

2/13/2011 I started watching this years ago but I couldn't get past the first episode. I finally finished up recently. Endless 8 was as horrific as I'd heard but overall, this season was ok. It's a shame that's it's only 7 episodes, especially when it means you're buying 7 episodes for the price of 14.

15. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

2/27/2011 I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I'd always thought that it'd be interesting to see a semi-serious take on Haruhi and this had enough of that to really leave me satisfied. The story is entertaining and the animation is some of the best, if not THE best, I've ever seen in any anime.

16. Paniponi Dash

3/12/2011 I hold Hayate no Gotoku in the highest regard but this show certainly takes the cake for my favorite comedy anime. It's everything I love about cartoon comedies: it's insanely random and NOTHING ever takes priority over comedy. The only flaw for me in that every expense was spared when it comes to animation quality. Other than that, great show. It's also one of the few times where I really feel like this is a show I can never watch in Japanese after hearing an episode or two in English. This makes me want to check out more English dubs for goofy comedies to see if they're all this good.

17. Mitsudomoe Zoryochu!

3/13/2011 This season was really good. They focused a lot more on the side characters this time around and it was nice to see them all getting some time in the spotlight. Hopefully this gets picked up by some US licensing company.

18. Dragon Crisis!

?/?/2011 I don't know how I forgot to add this one, especially considering all the wiki editing I did for it. Decent series overall. It would have been better if Rie Kugimiya was playing a tsundere character but there was a good mix of comedy, action, service, and moe in this.

19. We, Without Wings - under the innocent sky

7/6/2011 I loved this. It's super silly and fun with a "by any means necessary" approach to comedy. I'm very glad this got picked up for a US release.

20. Aria the Scarlet Ammo

7/13/2011 Well, this show made me groan a lot. It's not very good in many ways but it has Rie Kugimiya playing a fiery battle-tsundere which, when combined with some genuinely slutty moments from the Riko character, were enough to keep me entertained for its run.

21. Arcadia of My Youth

?/?/2011 Another one that I forgot to date and log. Good movie if you're into Harlock.

22. Tantei Opera Milky Holmes

7/21/2011 Good dumb fun. This show is like a mix of the mild action, super powers, and overall silliness of Zettai Karen Children combined with Pani Poni Dash's craziness. Very funny.

23. Deadman Wonderland

7/24/2011 Good series. It was a little tropey but it was fantastically violent bloody with an interesting and awesomely sadistic cast. *fingers crossed for season two*

24. Bleach the Movie: Hell Verse

?/?/2011 I forgot to add this one. I think the story was the weakest of the Bleach movies but the action was the best by far. I miss the old ones but I wouldn't mind them being like this for a while.

25. Steins;Gate

9/13/2011 This show started good, got a little hokey but ended up on a pretty great 15+ episode run. One of my faves in a while.

26. Hanasaku Iroha

9/25/2011 This one is really good. No real complaints about it at all. Hopefully this gets picked up for a US blu-ray release *crosses fingers for NISA*

27. Squid Girl

9/29/2011 I started watching this on CR because I saw the DVDs on sale for super cheap and figured I should see if it was any good. I wasn't expecting it to be as kiddy and silly as it was. It reminded me of the goofy cartoons I used to watch as a kid. Definite must buy for me.

28. Wandering Son

10/3/2011 It took me a few months to work my way through this one but I enjoyed it. Interesting in a lot of ways.

29. Tiger & Bunny

10/6/2011 A really fun series. I could watch a 100 episodes of this cast getting into random adventures.

30. Kamisama Dolls

10/8/2011 Cool show with nice production values. Funny when it wants to be, dark when it wants to be.

31. Cat God

10/10/11 As funny as I hoped it would be.

32. No. 6

10/11/11 Started off incredibly strong but this ended up as the biggest disappointment I've seen since *scrolls up list* Eden of the East.

33. Bunny Drop

10/14/2011 This series is damn near flawless in every way imaginable. I figured it would be good but it ended up great.

34. Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Myth of Hades

11/9/2011 This series was actually pretty good but then they just stopped it. Not even a rushed ending, it just stopped in the middle and that was that.

35. Welcome to Irabu's office

12/5/2011 A really great series. Very funny and it ends in a pretty excellent and extremely satisfying way.

36. C - CONTROL

12/6/2011 An interesting show. All of the finance stuff was pretty interesting, although it was more just names than actual theory like Spice and Wolf.

37. Level E

12/23/2011 Entertaining, but kinda all over the place. It seemed like they forgot about the main characters for half of the series. Not sure whether I'd buy this or not if it got a US release.

38. Un-Go

12/31/2011 Good series. It seemed a bit overly complex at times and I kinda wish the main detective had to struggle a bit more to solve the crimes, but I enjoyed this one and powered through it quicker than I usually do. It felt like Himitsu but with good animation with a supernatural slant.

39. Squid Girl 2

12/31/2011 It lived up to my expectations based off of the first series. I hope they do another one.

40. Fate/Zero

12/31/2011 Good series but not what I was expecting. I'm not even sure what I was expecting but I know it wasn't History's Deadliest Warriors x Saint Seiya. Whenever the series is more than that, I enjoy it a lot. When it's just that, it's just pretty cool, which is still good.

41. You and Me

1/3/2012 Good series. I've seen a lot of shows similar to this but they are all focused on school girls which creates a very "on the outside looking in" situation when it comes to relating to the characters. This series is well done and the fact that main cast is male made me relate more to their situations and reactions to things.

42. The iDOLM@STER

1/17/2012 I usually enjoy anything that deals with the music industry and this one was no different. I think it's at its best when there's drama going on. although Makoto's goofy ass epic fight was pretty awesome.

43. Majikoi - Oh! Samurai Girls!

1/17/2012 A pretty stupid show that gets a pass because it revels in its stupidity rather than trying to go past it and failing miserably like a lot of other action harem titles do.

44. Wagnaria!! 2

1/17/2012 It started off kinda weak but the last 6 or so episodes were as good as the first season.

45. Redline

1/18/2012 Pretty cool movie. I don't get all the "this is what anime is missing" rhetoric though. It's like a super well animated Fast and the Furious except a little less bad ass.

46. Hanamaru Kindergarten

2/11/2012 Very funny series. Reminds me a lot of Mitsudomoe except less vulgar.

47. YuruYuri

2/26/2012 When I think of my own descriptions of anime, I often wonder why this appeals to me and how does that reflect on myself. YuruYuri is a show about middle school lesbians, most of which are actively trying to sleep with each other. It's cute and funny though...

48. Monster

2/28/2012 It took almost 6 months for me to finish this one, but it was a good series. A bit long but it stays interesting.

49. Nisemonogatari

3/17/2012 Definitely an interesting show. I enjoyed it a lot. *2012*

50. Another

3/26/2012 Good show. PA Works is becoming one of the studios that I look for when trying to decide what shows I should check out. *2012*

"Haters be dammed, this show floats my boat.

Definitely one of my favorite series. I like the story and the major fights are always well animated and a treat to watch. I really like the music in this series as well.

I like the fact that I am not the only one to like Naruto and to put it in my faves but didn't you say the story in Naruto was only decent to get you from one fight to the other.(just asking)

Well, I guess I should say there are characters and events that I like. I think the story overall is meh and if there weren't nice fights, I would have dropped it. But, there are scenes, events and characters that I think are interesting.

When I say story, I'm thinking like the overall progression and what drives the show forward. I think that part is meh, but there are cool scenes and events in it that I like alot.

You're biggest anime otaku I ever seen in this community.

If there was a Millionaire show on anime topics, you will ace it like it was nothing. For me, I think I only watch 20 shows to completion.

sickVisionz moderator on March 28, 2012 at 10:27 a.m.

@takashichea: Thanks! I'll wear that like a badge of honor. Unfortunately I probably wouldn't do to well on a Trivia show. I forget a lot of the small details about shows that I watch and mostly remember how I felt about them and scenes or plot points that stood out to me.

Stevemagegodon Jan. 3, 2014 at 1:34 p.m.

Awesome list. I am currently watching Bleach online and i agree with you 100%. I hate how they have random ass filers in the middle of fights. I would rather have Naruto Flashback Moments. At least they don't interrupt the current fights with random filler episodes. They only do it after the current arc ends and then they do a filler if the anime is catching up.

Yo do you want to come over to anime vice's sister site Screened and help out adding in anime characters from these shows?

http://www.screened.com/characters/?sort=newest

We Could use the help.

Thanks!
