I'll be delving into Steins;Gate in this episode of 7 Deep. I had high praise and a ton of enthusiasm for the series in my first impressions video and the title has lived up to my hopes... for the most part. Check out the episode below and tell me what you think in the comments!

What is 7 Deep?

At the start of the Spring 2011 anime season I made a handful of first impressions videos about the anime that I planned on following. Many of these series are reaching their mid point so I decided to do a follow-up called 7 Deep that gives a quick run down on my thoughts after watching seven episodes.

Quick Notes About the Anime

What is 7 Deep?

A few weeks ago I made handful of first impressions videos about the new anime that I was following during the Spring 2011 season. Many of these series are reaching their mid point so I decided to do a follow-up series called 7 Deep that gives a quick run down on my thoughts after watching seven episodes.

This Episode

In my First Impressions of HanaSaku Iroha I said that I was really in love with the series and was eager for more. After seven episodes I find myself loving it even more! Check out the first episode of 7 Deep below and tell me what you think.

Quick Notes About the Anime

Series: HanaSaku Iroha via Crunchyroll

With a new month comes new anime purchases and this month was no exception. With it all said and done, I ended up grabbing:

  1. Saikano DVD (Complete Series & OVA)
  2. Shadow Star Narutaru DVD (Complete Series)
  3. School Days Limited Edition DVD (Vol 4 & 5)

Since Panty & Stocking got picked up by Funimation, I think I will be holding off on purchasing more of them. Especially when you consider that for the price of one BD volume, I could buy all 4 figurines, the art book, and still have change leftover! Anyways, on to May!

Back again with another first impression video.  This time for Deadman Wonderland, a show that I had a mild interest in but wasn't particularly anticipating.  As always, let me know what you think about it!

Quick Run Down

Show: Deadman Wonderland via Crunchyroll
Quick Summary: A young man is falsely imprisoned and must fight for survival in an odd prison known as Deadman Wonderland.
Pros: High production values and great villains so far.
Cons: I'm pretty sure that the sci-fi mysticism will end up with an incredibly hokey reveal and explanation for things at some point.
Verdict So Far: I know it's going to end up somewhere I don't like, but I'm enjoying the ride so far.

This show was never on my radar and all descriptions I'd read of it made it seem pretty meh.  When Crunchyroll picked it up they ended their summary with, "It may not be a fairytale but it will be a tale to remember nonetheless," I immediately got it into my head that this was going to be some super downer School Days, Myself;Yourself, Footprints in the Sand style of show and got very excited.  Well, I checked out the first episode and it turns out I was completely off the mark but it ended up being way better than I ever could have hoped.  Agree or disagree, let me know what you guys think in the comments

Quick Run Down

Show: We, Without Wings (Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai) via Crunchyroll
Quick Summary: A guy is watching TV and we follow him as he goes from channel to channel watching various harems.
Pros: Interesting concept and the tone of the series kept me laughing constantly.
Cons: Definitely niche and not for everyone.
Verdict So Far: Ba da ba ba ba, I'm lovin' it
