@takashichea: Yeah... it's only a list of possibilities though. I doubt I'll cover all of them, so If you would like to do Alice in the Country of Hearts feel free to!

I added Land of the Blindfolded. I see you added Penguin Brothers.
@takashichea: I'll go ahead and put in Pearl Pink and you can take Penguin Revolution.

I've always been curious about what shojo is. Its specifcally aimed at like elementary - highschool age females right? So like, manga like Ichigo 100% that's packed with fanservice and is about the "struggle" of some dude having to decide on which beautiful female he wants to be with wouldn't be shojo, it'd just be a romance aimed at dudes, right?
But something like Nana where it's not packed with bouncing tits and panty shots and is more like a traditional, more realistic take on romance with strong female leads would be shoujo, right?
@sickVisionz: shojo is for female reader. I know i'm gonna be hated for bringing this up, but think of Twilight, which made female reader go crazy after the male characters.

@sickVisionz: @buhssuht:
Like Shonen, female audiences have a wide array of tastes and preferences. Predominantly, romance/comedy/high school are a popular genre that is flexible and compatible with many other themes. You can add Vampires to it (Vampire Knight), magical girls, supernatural (Fushigi Yugi), and more. Other Hot topics would be reverse harem (Two Flowers for the Dragon) and Bishonen where you have a lot of beautiful guys.
Like how most guys love yuri and cat fights, women love yaoi as well. Though, there are no cat fights between guys, I think. Yaoi is a staple in Shojo manga, but it is subjected to cliches like the romance genres and being cheesy. See Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi. My little sister tells me that most Yaoi ends in tragedy. I haven't read much since it makes me uncomfortable.
Like Seinen, you have Josei. I'm not clear on the older women's preferences. It's more dark and focuses on adult issues.
ScarletKittie and Superevil225 will fill in you on the details since I'm not an expert.
@takashichea pretty much explained it all. As for seinen and josei, they are a bit harder to pin down than their teen counterparts. There doesn't seem to be as much of a divide in subject matter. When I was doing research of possible shojo/josei titles I found that two titles on this list ( Emma and Koi Kaze) I assumed would be josei are actually seinen! Both titles deal heavily with romance so one would assume it was josei, but apparently not.
I guess what I'm trying to say is as the target demographic gets older, the differences between the genres become less significant. I don't know if they helped give any insight into the genres, but hopefully it helped somewhat.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous is a great Josei anime to add to this list. I'm not doing well in getting the weekly Shoujo project. I'll wait for you.

You know what, I think I was insensitive with my over generalization with the Yaoi genre and shoujo fans. Yaoi is not a staple in Shoujo series. It's just a genre. I'm sorry about that.
Wow! That's a lot of coverage, ScarletKittie. I could do Alice in the Country of Hearts since I'm familiar with it.
Bunny Drop is very popular with the community.
I added Land of the Blindfolded. I see you added Penguin Brothers.
@ScarletKittie:
Yeah, same here. Which one will you add next, Penguin Revolution or Pearl Pink? I take the other one after you have chosen.
