Unfortunately the manga is still in "questions" mode, as of the most recent chapter 45, although it's looking like 46 is gonna be a big answer chapter. With the pacing and episode count, and the fact that the anime is weekly while the manga is monthly, I'm a bit nervous how it's gonna be. If they decide to cliffhanger it and go for a second season, it'd have to be in a while to let manga get ahead a lot. It's not like FMAB where the manga was in clear endgame territory before the anime started airing.

Wit has done a pretty good job with it so far, production issues notwithstanding. But I think an anime-original ending could prove disastrous, and I'm not even talking about how they write it.

Also episode 9 introduced Hanji, so all is good so far. Hanji da best.

Haha boy was I wrong. More questions than answers. But 46 has some great character interactions. Even the Hulk would be like "damn that kid should relax" in regards to Eren.

Battles » Diavolo VS Kaguro and Ougi Shichirou (Kekkaishi)

JoJo Part 5's ending was such a clusterfuck.

Battles » Diavolo VS Kaguro and Ougi Shichirou (Kekkaishi)

@DBZ_universe said:

@Boxer_Joe: I am not so familiar with Diablo. But I am extremely knowledgeable in Kekkaishi.

Shichirou can manipulate wind at his will and can cut buildings with ease. His winds are more powerful than Ichirou (who cut Masamori's Zekkai).

Kaguru is hypersonic+ if he cuts those who have regeneration abilities, they will be slower on healing then bleed to death. Kaguro can also adapt his blades so they can cut his opponent. He was able to cut through Quazi Zekkai.

Also Kekkaishi is my favorite manga ^_^

Diavolo/King Crimson's ability is probably one of the most-discussed JoJo powers, solely because it's somewhat confusing. Essentially, he erases segments of time. The beginning and end of an action will still occur, but the middle won't. There's a comic out there that explained it, but I can't find it. Essentially, someone shoots a gun at Diavolo, the bullet pierces him, and continues on its way, but King Crimson erases the moment when the bullet hits Diavolo, so the firing occurs, and the bullet traveling behind Diavolo still occurs, but the section where the bullet travels, hits D and exits his body doesn't happen anymore. I think that's a good way of explaining it.

The Mikasa/Mother arm change is kinda weird.

Second half of episode 7 was intense as fuck. I'm pretty darn pleased. But early comments on various forums show that some people are gonna be, or already are, really pissed.

Wow, this show is pretty dark. Really need something that would cheer me up now

Also, why do people still act like jerks when mankind is near extinction

People born in "safety", coupled with probably always staying in the inner two walls and never seeing a Titan can create people without any perspective. Pretty simple. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people really far in who don't even believe titans exist, but don't really care because their day-to-day lives have no trouble. No matter the crisis, you can't expect 100% of people to be honest and altruistic.

Raw for Chapter 45 of the manga is making the rounds, and I've heard it's pretty crazy. Bringing it up here because it might whip up asshole spoilers into a frenzy so anime-only people should probably be careful for like the next few days.

Since you're up to speed with the manga, it appears that episode 6 will be about Mikasa's backstory. I read the manga alongside with the anime. That's my style. I look at Wikipedia's list of chapters to carefully navigate the manga to avoid spoilers. I'm looking right now, and I don't know what chapter Mikasa's story is.

Finished Episode 5's wiki page early. I have to finish the episode summaries in the weekends. Can't wait for Crunchyroll this time.

Flashback is partway into volume 2, starting at the end of chapter 5 and going through 6. They might rearrange it or cliffhanger it for the anime because there's almost a full chapter before the flashback starts.

Yeah I was just being lazy, forgot that it notifies everyone whenever you quote someone who is also quoting/replying.

And a reminder to everyone that if you're enjoying this you should watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) because the person that did Series Composition/Scripting for that is also the one doing it for Titan (Yasuko Kobayashi). Also because it's awesome. Shameless JoJo pimping!

I think they might include Annie and Eren's scene somewhere else since they have rework the series chronologically.

Maybe? It was only like...3 pages, but I think it helps Annie come off as not as...antagonistic as the anime portrayed her. The pacing for episode 4 was pretty tight, it would have been hard to fit it in, I guess.

In a rather crud colored season, this anime is a gem even if every other show was awsome ( an they really are not for me ) .It i think feels beter as a anime .The animation is good but say hollyweird wants to do a live action "adaption"?

/shuder

Yeah that sceen with the mom being eatn just got less scary huh?

Japan has a live-action slated for next year. I have no idea how it will go, it was kinda on the rocks for a while but it seems it's back on.

@AURON570: The mystery of the Titans is one of the big sticking points for me as well on this one.

Regarding the length and if it will cover enough of the manga to be interesting... I really hope they take the route of giving us a fully fleshed out arc for the series and try NOT to follow the original pacing of the story. I don't mind them not covering the whole storyline (ala BERSERK) but it would suck to have more of episode 3's in our future because that was not nearly as strong as the first two. If I wanted Top Gun with giants I would've... oh, I guess that show doesn't exist.

Either way, still pumped about this one. Something about the horror elements being done in this show makes me wish there was a good anime interpretation of Uzumaki out there. Limited 13 episode show of the short stories from it? Oh yeah, I'd watch that. And then never sleep for like two weeks.

They've already done this with episodes 3 and 4, since the manga goes Opening>Big Red>Mom eaten>Graduation>Ep 4 Wall scene(end of chapter3), while episode 3 and the majority of 4 are chapters 15-17.

About episode 4, I'm kinda sad they left out 1 scene and reworked another from the manga, nothing major but I liked them:

Eren telling Annie that her technique is useful after he used it to defuse the fight with Jean, and her (almost cutely?) remarking that his attempts are terrible and she could show him some more if he wants.

Jean and Eren decide that their different ideals is best dealt with by beating the shit out of each other, and Mikasa stops the fight by literally picking up Eren and carrying him out of the dining building (not in the anime). Eren, Mikasa and Armin talk on the steps outside about their military paths (which the anime included without the preceding scenes).

Other than that, in regards to the end of episode 4:

No idea, I've never watched past episode 9, I think. Gonna start reading the manga instead. Also there's a PV up for the Chimera Ant Arc if you wanna add it to the first post.

Yeah I don't give a shit about the battle stuff. It all reminds of being a kid and getting into "my dad could beat up your dad" arguments. But worse.

Does this really count when it's consistently high-ranking in Japanese sales? I think I read that at the moment all 10 volumes are in the top 30.

Anyway, I'm reading Kongou Banchou and the moment and I never really see it get discussed/mentioned anywhere.

The collective works of Dowman Sayman (or Douman Seiman since the internet can never seem to agree how to spell his name). Specifically Voynich Hotel and Nickelodeon, though all his works are pretty weird and great. I love the fact that the whole plot behind his work Oddman 11 is basically one giant Scott Pilgrim reference, which is fully acknowledged by the characters. I wish that they would get licensed, but they're probably too weird (I.E. a whole chapter devoted to a depressed transsexual kid wondering if he is either a reincarnation of a Columbine victim or of one of the Columbine killers themselves).

I read like 30 chapters of Voynich in one setting and I have no idea what the fuck any of it was. Kinda interesting...maybe?

Thanks duder.

Pretty hyped for next week, Greed Island arc just finished, and the never-before-animated Chimera Ant arc will be starting. I've got a lot of hope for this, Madhouse has been doing a brilliant job witht he series, and I sorta gave up on reading the manga during the CA arc due to Togashi's Jump-released chapters being little more than scribblees (I haven't checked the supposedly fixed up book releases). Can't wait to see some of the new characters show up.

Looks like they're rearranging the order of chapters into something more chronological. Episode 3 looks like it's gonna be using what were flashbacks in Volume 4 of the manga, but took place not long after the events of episodes 1&2. Also episode 2 was really slow paced. Maybe a little too slow?
