The white-haired, blue-eyed weather manipulator Ororo Munroe reigns supreme as she takes the top spot in Comic Vine's Top 100 Superheroes 2011 poll.

Storm led the voting poll with 196 pts, 27 points ahead against #2 Superman who accumulated 169 points. Morphues, Spider-Man, The Phantom, Aquaman and Thing followed behind.

160 comic characters were nominated from different publishers and more than 80 Comic Vine members participated the poll. The poll was conducted by a group of Comic Vine members to have and start the site's annual popularity poll.

Here's the link to see the complete list (first post of the thread) and how and who voted: http://www.comicvine.com/forums/gen-discussion/1/comic-vines-top-100-superheroes-2011/632429/

A thread has also been made for Storm's victory on her forum: http://www.comicvine.com/storm/29-1444/storm-is-1-in-comic-vines-top-100-superheroes-2011/92-638797/#176

Storm is currently leading a team starting in X-men #20 (November2011) and will soon become a member of The Avengers in Avengers #21(January 2012).

As of the moment...

- Storm holds the record for a female comic-based Marvel Comics character that has the most number of appearances on films including X-men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, cameo appearances in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men: First Class, Superhero Movie, etc. Whether Storm or Catwoman holds the title for a female comic character who have the most number of appearances on films requires further research.

-Storm holds the record for a female comic character of Marvel Comics that has the most number of appearances in cartoon series including: Pryde Of The X-Men, X-Men: The Animated Series, The Amazing Spider-man, Wolverine and The X-Men, X-Men Evolution, X-Men Anime, The Superhero Squad Show, and Black Panther.

-Storm holds the record for a female comic-based character with the most number of appearances in video games (more than 30 games) like X-Men Legends, Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel ultimate Alliance, etc.

-Storm is #2 for a female comic character that has the most number of appearances in comics. Invisible Woman took the top spot as she started appearing since 1961 while Storm's first appearance was on May of 1975. Storm may possibly take the top spot in year 2012.

-Storm holds the records for a black comic character with the most number of appearances in films, cartoon series, comics and video games.

Possibly...

-Storm is also the female comic character that has led a team longer than any other female characters in comics

Storm seems like a cool addition.

Indeed.

@ComicMan24 said:

I think he means taking Thor's place as in controlling electricity and weather and not being a powerhouse there because as ND said she is not in his league. It is a nice choice, she has what it takes to be one and could have been one sooner.

That's what i meant. thanks : )

Off-Topic » Storm Joins Earth's Mightiest Team In Avengers #19 on January2012

After years of waiting, Ororo Munroe will finally become an official member of Avengers starting on January next year.

What will be Storm's role? Is it just taking Thor's part since he'll not be around or will he help Captain America lead the team? That's something we'll have to find out when the issue comes to our hands. : )

Off-Topic » X-Men: 20th Anniversary Edition #1 Available On October 5, 2011

Why is X-Men #1 the most important comic of all time? It is the best-selling  comic in comics history, selling more than 8 million copies, and the second best-selling comics only came around 4 million.

The release X-men # 1 in late 1991 was also the time when X-Men has started to become more and more popular until the team became the biggest team in comics history, breaking records like the team having the most number of video games, having the most number of comic issues etc.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, comes a new edition of X-Men # 1 coming out this October 5, 2011 which is remastered, reimagined and recolored in modern style.

All of them just look like color swaps to me, especially when you compare them to the comic book version which shows how different they actually should be from each other.

You have a point there but i don't say all my t-shirts each with different colors are all the same.

it's still better to have 6  now than just have 4 like the original.

Off-Topic » Ororo Munroe / Storm of the X-Men Reveals Her 6 Costumes in UMVC3

I was really, really excited about what Ororo Munroe's alternate costumes will be and finally, it has been unveiled. But I wasn't that happy because Storm's all-red alternate costume is no longer available. : (

Anyways, here's a brief comment on each alternate costume of my favorite comic character of all time.  Starting with:

Black and Gold = The colors that are often used to paint Storm's costume. The red gem on her costume is still present. This is Storm's recent costume which at times also colored on different shades of blue and gold.  This alternate costume also reminds me of Storm's first appearance in Giant-Sized X-Men #1 on May of 1975.

Giant-Sized X-Men # 1:   http://www.comicvine.com/giant-size-x-men-deadly-genesis/37-14890/

Silver and Gold = Or we can also say white and gold for this alternate costume.  The images on the right was the time when the Uncanny X-men were unquestionably the greatest and most popular team worldwide... the 90's! Of course we cannot forget the times when Storm talks a lot to summon her powers in Uncanny X-Men: The Animated Series. I feel like wanting to watch the cartoon series all over again.

This pretty much reminds me of her being the best ( and the most versatile ) character in Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Watch the cartoon X-Men's  Christmas Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55UyrXUySFU&feature=related

Black and White = Haven't really seen much from Storm wearing her recent costume in black and white color but what really made this different from her other alternate costumes is the white pattern on her cape, the design which the late Michael Turner used for drawing Storm as being a temporary member of the Fantastic Four for cover arts on issues: The New Fantastic Four #544-550.

The New Fantastic Four #544-550:  http://www.comicvine.com/fantastic-four-the-new-fantastic-four/49-38728/

Violet and Black = Most people might be surprised that Storm actually wore this color at some point. Clearly, this wasn't a popular color costume from Storm, but for anybody who went to Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida, this is not new. There's a  large image of Storm wearing in violet and black, welcoming you to take a tea-cup ride called Storm Force Accelatron, and help her beat the master of magnetism, Magneto.

To see the tea-cup ride dedicated to Storm, check this youtube link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf3W4D--rL4

I surely can't help but sing MVC2's very addictive song: Wanna take you for a ride, tenenenet, tenenenet! (a million times) : )

Blue and White = Inspired from when Storm became an Asgardian Goddess in Asgardian Wars, the kind of shade of blue they've used make Storm more beautiful to bask on. How I wish they made her carry the stormcaster which transforms her into a Thunder Goddess.

Interested in Asgardian Wars, check here:  http://www.comicvine.com/asgardian-wars/39-56030/

http://www.comicvine.com/x-men-to-serve-and-protect-x-dudes-part-3-storm-front-invisible-and-youll-miss-it/37-259133/

Blue and Gold: There was a time when all the x-men wore the blue and gold x-uniforms, and a red belt with an x-symbol indicating their membership as an x-man. The colors do look pretty on Storm's recent costume and reminds me a lot of her on her gold alternate costume in X-Men vs Street Fighter and  Marvel vs Capcom 2 as a goddess-tier.

I'm definitely interested to use the new alternate costumes, though I really would have wanted the all-red alternate costume to be available still. Right now, I could say i might main the violet and black costume. But it can change.

But what I'm most excited about is her mohawk alternate costume, available as a DLC. This kind of Storm look is pure awesomeness for me.
