Unfortunately we don't have any evidence of Asura's mental defenses to say that. In terms of power he is like the Hulk in that his strength and power increases with his rage. Sparda Sword became pretty useless storywise after the first game. It helped Dante take on the appearance of Sparda and turned'im into a flyer who shot energy balls at Mundus. @SpeedForceSpider: Not really, it's because aside from being more effective against evil and deflecting Light based attacks, it's utterly worthless. Sparda Sword only really seems to boost what Dante can already do in terms of offensive abilities. The top 3 offensive ones are Excalibur, Sparda and Tetsusaiga. Perhaps you didn't notice, but Brolly's hair as a SSJ when younger was blond, as per normal. Once Paragus put the Control Circlet on him, the color changed, indicating his power was being Restrained and Restricted.
