1.
I think one of the few reasons why I love this movie so much is because it was my first Ghibli movie. It had this magical effect on me the first time I watched it. I've watched it a multitude number of times and I still don't tire of it. |

2. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
This is one of the funnest series to watch. I absolutely love Nozomu Itoshiki because of the way he laments over life's nuances. His eclectic class is also fantastically stereotyped where each gives interesting commentary to social problems. |

3. Fullmetal Alchemist
Edward's character really drove this series home. His character is believable despite the alchemic world and his reactions to situations are human. It's easy to understand his motives. |

4. Gurren Lagann
No words need to be stated. Drills are amazing. |

5. Genshiken
The best thing about this series is that you can pinpoint mannerisms of characters to people you know in real life. The situations they go through are so believable that it's as if you were there with them, talking about that one scene in Kujibiki Unbalance. |

6. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
The reason why I love this series so much is because of Kyon. His cynical, witty commentary has made me love the series so much. I think it's more because of the light novel translations however because his intelligent inner monologue is so refreshing. |

7. xxxHOLiC
There's something about this series that I love. I cannot pinpoint why I love the series so much; maybe it's the characters' antics, maybe it's the psuedo-philsophical jumble that tends to be over the top at times. Who knows. |

8. Baccano!
The colorful cast of characters and intriguing storyline are great assets to this anime. Even with a large amount of characters, they each play their key roles without feeling like throw-away characters. |
|
|
9. Mushishi
The calming atmosphere is fantastic and the visuals are amazing. The mushishi themselves look extraordinarily animated. While it may have a slow pace, this show has meditative effects. |

10. Solanin
Inio Asano has made very great slice of life manga. This one in particular is a great one shot because it feels realistic. The art he draws has a distinct feel. |
