Paulrus (Level 7)

Saw the new MLP; wasn't that great. I can relate with Maud Pie though.

Off-Topic » Hi Im new and goodbye thread

Hmm. It is time for me to (re)introduce myself.

I'm Paulrus, and I was formerly the 14th most active wiki editor on Screened. I posted mainly content regarding Magical Farting Horse Friendship, and following the site's sad, but inevitable, closure I was asked to transfer my content here, which I am in the process of doing. I've had an account here for awhile, and before getting Thumbless Equestrian Internet Cancer, I putzed around the pages for FLCL and Cromartie High School, which I may continue in my freetime. I also used to rant about the immorality of the site's shota page, but now I think on an anime fandom website that's like yelling at a brick wall in a room full of people yelling at brick walls so I won't be doing that unless I need to.

I'm not one for conversation, but feel free to drop me a line.

Toonami » The Return of Toonami?

@Dream said:

@Paulrus: That was the second-to-last episode to the third Tenchi Muyo OAV series which I won't bother detailing on due to possible spoilers to those who haven't seen it yet. Toonami aired that instead of the older titles of the franchise because they are still in licensing limbo from Funimation acquiring them a while back.

I see.

Still looked stupid though. I strongly preferred Tenchi Universe. What I saw looked like a total clusterfuck and my friend who was able to watch it with no cable problems was lost too.

Toonami » The Return of Toonami?

Unfortunately for me, my cable is messing up so I have no sound and my closed captioning is a garbled mess.

Which sucked because I had no idea what that Tenchi episode was about.

What sucks more is that this may just be an April Fool's thing. Cartoon Network needs to take a hint from Nickelodeon and have a late-night block dedicated to classic '90s Toonami.

Japanese Food » Japanese Soft Drinks/Alcohol

Drink them much?
Today I bought a couple bottles of Oronamin C and a pint of Sapproro from the Nippon Food Store. Haven't got to the beer yet, but I chugged those Oronamins immediately.

What about you folks? Drink any Japanese drinks?

Dragon Ball » Why Dragon Ball was a great success?

Good question. When you look back at it, it was just a bunch of battles and slow pacing.
However, i'm more cynical these days. I also haven't watched any episodes ever since GT forced me to turn the TV off. DBZ: Abridged aside, of course.
I think its because the epic battles and stories, while laughable now, had appeal and, to paraphrase Black_Rose, had memorable characters.

Dragon Ball » Why Dragon Ball GT Sucks?

I watched one episode. Something just switched on afterwards. It was along the lines of "why am I still watching Dragonball?"

I don't know. Maybe it was the fact that I had already spent 3-4 years watching all those other sagas that I grew tired of it. Maybe it's because I found nothing interesting in GT. In the end, I'm glad to know that I didn't miss anything.

Um. Hi.
I'm Paulrus. I like anime. Sort of. Hard to like something that is mostly associated with bullshit plots and cardboard characters but hey, I manage.

Now, i'm not trying to get off on the wrong foot. I'm not trolling: i'm just cynical. I honestly like anime. FLCL, Death Note, Cromartie High, Baccano... stuff like that.

I go by an idea that watching anime shouldn't be a chore. Anime works if its accessible to everyone, which I don't see a lot of. I didn't enjoy Azuma Daioh: it was cute, but it spoke to me as a brochure for Traveling to Japan.
