It's true a lot of DBZ movies are consider to be set in other universes because the timelines don't match up with the story. For instance Piccolo should be dead in Tree of might or the Z warriors should have been on Namek in Lord Slug. So most fans consider the movies too be set in other universes because the alternative doesn't make any sense.
