Broly: Second Coming is a fairly good movie. The movie has plenty of action for viewers to enjoy such as Broly's several fight scenes and with the heavy rock music in the background it creates the perfect illusion for an action-filled fight. There are several positive concepts about this movie for one to enjoy such as the fact that the movie had great fight scenes, comedy, great animations and a good background story.

The fight scenes were impressive as Broly virtually dominated all who crossed his path proving to be a complete psychopath as he did in the last movie. I also praise the movie because Broly displayed great power in his normal Super Saiyan form overwhelming Gohan, Goten and Trunks completely and I like the fact that they kept the "Broly dominating" concept in this movie. The fight scenes were amazing however the Super Saiyan 2 Gohan vs Legendary Super Saiyan Broly where Broly clearly dominates Gohan however Gohan quickly passes out after a few seconds without barely performing any critical action.

The soundtracks in this movie are impressive as well as the heavy rock songs were great in the background of the scenes which created the illusion of more action.

The movie also has a fair amount of comedy such as the scene where Broly is attempting to break Trunk's back and Trunks suddenly urinates on his head and even Broly shows disgust at the act as he uttered "uugh", another comedy scene is when Goten loses the Dragon Balls and tries to find them when they are scattered along with other grey balls and utters possibly the dumbest sentence in the movie when he finds the 4 star Dragon Ball he says "I better look well because we all know how many orange balls there are here" and this scene clearly implies that Goten inherited his intelligence from Goku. The comedy scene at the end however was not that amusing nor funny as it was a very common scene in several television programs a scene where Videl comically berates Gohan for not being present when she was drowning as Gohan crawled away which initiated her chasing him and this scene was fairly a stale comedy scene and not that funny. Another funny scene is when Goten attempts to summon The Eternal Dragon (Shenron or Shenlong) with the Dragon Balls but didn't know how and Trunks who was incredibly worried if Goten will succeed showed great fear as he attempted to hide from Broly however it was a fairly comical scene. The other comical scene is when Krillin breaks the fourth wall.

Another positive thing about the movie is how the showcase Broly as not just a mindless destroyer and killer and actually have him display some intelligence as he launches an energy ball at Gohan as it is seemingly going to hit Gohan and Gohan himself braces himself for the impact as he closes his eyes however much to Gohan's surprise Broly makes the energy ball after being mere inches away from Gohan fall to the ground actually to attack Goten, Trunks and Videl. The movie also continues to showcase Broly's mental insanity as his mental deteriorating state causes him to confuse Goten for Goku and then confuse Gohan for Goku.

The movie's greatest scene in my opinion is the Family Kamehameha scene, I also enjoyed how the plot played out and how Broly was defeated as Goten and Gohan launched a Brother Kamehameha at Broly's attack however were still overpowered and Goten quickly uttered "I wish dad was here" to which the Dragon Balls began glowing and Goku seemingly descended from the sky and joined his sons and fired his own Kamehameha with his sons creating for the first time a Family Kamehameha and it can be seen that when they are firing the kamehameha both Goku and Gohan are in their Super Saiyan 2 forms and Goten in his Super Saiyan form however even with their combined power they were unable to overpower Broly and they themselves were overpowered by Broly's attack until Trunks launched an energy ball at Broly's attack as it created a barrier between Broly and his attack leaving Broly unable to send more energy balls to his attack and finally was defeated as the kamehameha sent him plunging into the Sun were he met his end and died.

Even though the movie has several positive concepts to it it does have several drawbacks and negative concepts. What I hated most about the movie is the scene where Broly transforms into his Legendary Super Saiyan form and it can be seen that it is the same animation they used in the first Broly movie and that greatly disappointed me and just showed the laziness of the movie's animators. Another negative feature about this movie is that Broly seems less bulky and muscular in his Legendary Super Saiyan form than in his first appearance and one of the most disappointing feature was the fact that the movie's creators claimed to have forgotten to add the blue electrical arcs to Super Saiyan 2 Gohan's aura which caused much confusion as to whether Gohan was in his Super Saiyan or Super Saiyan 2 form however it has been confirmed that Gohan was indeed in his Super Saiyan 2 form when he fought Broly.

Overall this movie was a very good movie with certain drawbacks and negative features however all in all I would award this movie a rating of 9 out 10.

The movie was fairly interesting and could keep you watching the entire move however it is a decent movie and not that great in my opinion. The animators and graphic designers truly worked hard on the visual appearance of this movie and it is impressive how the characters look in the remastered movie and it looks very good on HDTV however despite those positive features the movie does have some drawbacks.

One of the negative features is the main plot. The plot of the movie was not well thought and it wasn't that great, two extraterrestrial warriors as powerful as Frieza heading to Earth isn't that interesting as anyone of the Z Fighters could have defeated them and it was taken more as a joke than a serious threat which decreased the action level and intensity of the movie and as evidenced that they could have been easily beaten Super Saiyan Goku was able to quickly dispose of Abo and Kado (The main antagonists) in the end.

Another negative feature in this movie is how easily the main antagonists who at first seem truly evil end up being easily converted to good after being offered radishes and are shown eating happily with the Z Fighters. That contradicts their initial personality during the movie's battle.

However a positive feature is the battle Abo and Kado had with some of the Z Fighters as the fighting was good, the effects were impressive and the action did not slip however it should be noted that the main antagonists are simply as powerful as Frieza and even Gotenks as excessively cocky as he is should have been able to kill Abo and Kado fairly easily.

I also enjoyed the introduction of Vegeta's estranged brother and how shocked the Z Fighters were when discovered that Vegeta has a younger brother. It was quite surprising how Vegeta's brother Tarble was gentle and kind instead of being like the average Saiyan: brutish and evil. What the creators didn't do well was the scene where Android 18 states that she senses a great power and it turns out to be Tarble who was heading for Earth and his power was not even greater than that of Raditz and it was a great exaggeration on Android 18's part.

The humor and comedy in this movie was good especially the scene where Hercule finds himself baffled as to what the name of his new hotel is however there is a slight detail in the movie that does not fit, Videl mentions God in the near-ending of the movie however in the DBZ Universe the main deities seem to be the Kais however that may be of her knowledge as she possibly does not know of the Kai's existence even though she is married to Gohan.

Overall the movie was fairly decent and I give it a rating of "Decent, Normal or Below Average" because of the weak plot, the ridiculous main antagonists and their sudden heal turn at the end of the movie. I'd give the movie 5 out of 10.

The plot of this movie is impressive however the ending is a slight disappointment. The characters are in their correct personas and what I especially enjoyed was Vegeta's cowardice when he witnessed Broly transform revealing himself as the fabled Legendary Super Saiyan which I thought was brilliant given Vegeta's arrogant and haughty personality one would think he is virtually fearless and believes himself to be in a class above any warrior however when he encounters Broly his attitude changes drastically which actually reveals Vegeta's fear of death.

A number of other things I enjoyed was Broly's origin and the reasons that explain his intense hatred for Goku (Kakarot) and his psychotic personality made him a unique and dangerous antagonist in the movie and I enjoyed how Broly loves to cause pain and suffering rather than quickly kill his victims and how he is uplifted at the very thought of destruction. The action and violence in this movie were very good as well as the sight of natural and rocky structures being demolished and destroyed throughout the intense battle between Broly and the Z Fighters. The movie also has scenes with comedic relief such as during the beginning of the movie Krillin is seen singing and has a terrible voice that even Trunks wonders if anyone is enjoying his singing and also the scenes in which Master Roshi becomes intoxicated (drunk) and attempts to eat Oolong's foot as they sleep and the scene were he challenges Broly to a fight and called Broly "Broccoli" an actual pun on Broly's name only form him to immediately back down from actually fighting.

I also enjoyed how Broly's power was displayed, a young infant born with the power level of 10,000 which was equal to that of King Vegeta's as an adult. Broly easily and effortlessly thrashed 2 Full Powered Super Saiyans, Super Saiyan Trunks, Super Vegeta and Piccolo who at the time was on par with the likes of Android 17 in terms of power and being the only DBZ character to ever display enough power to destroy entire galaxies. The movie also shows Goku's willingness to fight and his ability to never concede as he continued to fight Broly in a losing battle even after the other Z Fighters were defeated and bloodied. Broly's cruelty is truly unmatched as he killed his father showing no signs of regret for being the cause of his father Paragus' death whom he saved during the time of his infancy.

The movie however was not perfect and it had a few imperfections such as Paragus' ridiculous rouse to simply lure the Z FIghters to a barren and broken world, his plan was not well made and had terrible excuses for attempting to hide the fact that Broly was the Legendary Super Saiyan and also the fact that Broly was easily defeated at the end with a single blow, Goku had absorbed the power of Piccolo, Vegeta, Gohan and Trunks who were dramatically weakened from their thrashing and surprisingly that power was enough to defeat Broly when it was all absorbed by Goku who defeated Broly by delivering a punch to his abdomen but in fairness to Broly it was delivered in his weak spot the area where he was stabbed as an infant, because of Broly's display of incredible power throughout the movie he should not have been defeated so easily by the combined power of weakened Z Fighters who were not able to cause any physical damage to Broly at all which is a plot hole in the movie and Broly's defeat was incredibly quick as if the movie's creators wanted to rush the ending.

In general this movie was a good one and I would give it a 8 out of 10 with just some slight imperfections.
