To me It just not the same has it was in the 1990's.  Back then they was more money in Japan economy so they took more chances on anime shows and you can see it in allot more OVA back then as well.  They don't make OVA that much any more.  Even when they do make OVA now days they make a show like Strait Jacket and not GunSmith Cats.

Those OVA's can take more chances because they not on network TV over in Japan.  Just watch something like Tenchi Muyo OVA and Tenchi Universe and you see what I meen.  look at list of anime from 10 anime's form the1990's that allot people would have on their top 10 list and 10 animes for this decade top 10 list of sort's from anime fan's.

1990's
Cowboy Bebop.
Vision Of Escaflowne.
Trigun.
Outlaw Star.
Bersek.
Tenchi Muyo.
Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Neon Genesis Evangelion.   (I don't care of Evangelion myself but you have to give to Hideaki ANNO he made something different.)
GunSmith Cats.
Ova's of Record Of Lodoss War.  (Wow a middle ages type of show that's not Hentai!)
Hellsing.

2000's
Death Note.  (I like Death Note but it would be aveage anime by 1990's standards.
Inuyasha.
Gurren Lagann.
Full Metal Alchemist.
Lucky Star.  (I think Lucky Star is funny by the way.)
Gundam Seed.
Big O.   (This would have be good one if it didn't have the stupid ending.)
Maria-Sama.  (I show I like, but these type of show's are few and far between in anime nowdays.)
Black Lagoon.
Azumanga Daioh.

It's not all doom and gloom, but anime better start getting back to what they did 10 years ago or anime is in big trouble.

Another thing I think hurt anime is the way anime looks nowdays.  You tell me what look's better.

lIke Tood Mcfarlane said "Black is a color to."  I don't meen skin color either.  I'm talking about how anyting is bright now days in anime.  I give you another example.

I know some of you well say that Blood the last Vampire was movie and Blood+ was a TV show.  TV show was made in 2005.  Almost five years later than the movie.

Another thing that's hurting anime (This is more about Stateside anime sence than Japan I think.)  The aveage age of anime viewer is 12 to 15 years old.  Which wouldn't be a bad thing if they stay into anime, but most fan's don't in the long run.  Also this hurt's when it come's to anime coming over here in the United States.  It's just going to be more Bleach type of shows.  This is really not good for me being a middle age Otaku like myself.  Their was time in the 1990's that the aveage age of anime fans were allot older than 12 years old.  Video game back in the day had the same problem, but the differents is that most of video game people stand into video games and not the aveage age of video game fans is older then it was back then.

Also people that own anime compines bring anime they like, but it dosen't meen that it going to be any good or anyone else it going to like it.  I like sport anime, but it just not going to sell at all over here.

All in all I hope anime can turn it around.  What do you think.

This is what I think that would make some of these animes from an 8 to a 10 in my book.  So here me go.

1.  Gungrave.  Don't get me wrong I love Gungrave but how cool would Gungrave be if it just about two friends named Brandon Heat and Harry MacDowell going up the ranks of the mod and not have Beyond the Grave and any other monsters in it.  I would love to see anime like that.  I love mod movies and I would like to see anime verison of that.

2.  Speed Grapher.  I would like  to see a quote "Eyes Wide Shut." anime and not have any powers in it, like it is in Speed Grapher.

3.   All the Tenchi Shows that are not Tenchi in Tokyo.  Have Tenchi pick a girl all ready.

4.   Peach Girl.  Have Momo pick the right guy in the end.

5.   Inuyasha.  Have Inuyasha and Kagome get pass first base and have a real ending.  Let's hope the new Inuyasha show ties up the lose ends.

6.   Trigun.  Not have Wolfwood die.

 7.  Sakura Diaries.  Not have Touma and Urara be cousins.  Also take out that rape part.  Doing this would make the show easier to watch.

8.   Devil Lady.  Not have the Devil win in the end.

9.   Black Lagoon.  Have Revy and Rock get it on all ready.

10. Utena.  Have more episodes about Jury.

Again I love most these animes.   This is just little to big things I would like to make the show more enjoyable.

1.  Prefect Blue.  This anime make you get inside a pop idol head and take you for wild ride.  This one not for kids.  Neither is the trailer so you have been warned.

2.  Paranoia Agent.  To me this what scary is all about.  It's not just about what is real, but what can be real if we don't face up to what we done.  At least in the world of Paranoia Agent.

3.  When They Cry.  This anime is like Ground Hog Day movie from Hell.  Here the intro.

4.  Lain.  For me this is the case of if you don't watch it technology could go up out of control.   Just watching Lain by her computer makes you not want to go on the interent ever again.  Here in intro.  I also want to thank you gals for useing this song Duvet ending of last week podcast on anime vice.  I love that song.

5.  Samuri Champloo.  You might think this is odd pick, but if you seen the last five minutes of episode called "Cosmic Collisions." you know what I'm talking about.  The ending is so scary that I'm not going to post it.  All I can say is that I had to throw out the trash after I watch it and let's just say that was not a fun thing to do.

So whats your top five list and what did you think of my list.

 1. Tenchi Forever.  I know that allot might scratch their heads at this being number one on my list but I love this movie for the fact that it takes Tenchi storyline and turns it all it’s head and makes more of a drama show.  Because of this it work perfectly.  It’s also ties up the Tenchi Universe story line.

2.  Patlabor 2: The Movie.  Here my thoughts on this great movie. http://www.animevice.com/patlabor/10-230/i-talk-about-why-you-should-buy-patlabor-2-the-movie/97-203725/#1

3.  Lupin the III: Secret of the Twilight Gemini.  Again here’s a link to my review.    http://www.animevice.com/the-secret-of-twilight-gemini/13-1353/user_reviews/?review=103

4.  Prefect Blue.  This movie shows the very dark side of the pop Idol scene in Japan.   Satoshi Kon is one of those people that can make a surreal anime and makes it beautifully.

5.  Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.  To me this is the best Hayao Miyazaki film.  It feel so more raw to me then any other Ghibli movie and that why it works for me.

6.  Grave of the Fireflies.  If your not crying at the end of the movie (like I did) when you see that little girl at the end of  the film then your not a human.  Be warned it’s a very sad movie.

7.  Tenchi Muyo Movie 1: Tenchi in Love.  I know this most people favorite Tenchi movie but I put it hear because it doesn’t tie to any of the OVA's or the TV shows.

 8.  Princess Mononoke.  I Love the English dub in this movie.

9.  Akira.  This movie visuals still hold  to even today standers and the was made 20 years ago!

10.  The Sky Crawlers.  This movie shows the ugly side to anime fandom and tells anime that it can do better.

1. Batman: The Dark Knight.  What can I say about this movie.  It what all comic book movies need to shot for in the future.

2. Spiderman 2.  In till Batman: The Dark Knight this was the best comic book movie of all time.  Spiderman 3 would have made my list but they killed off Venom.

3. X-Men 2.  This movie set up the next X-Men so well and they totally drop the ball on this one.  Thank you Bryan Singer for destroying two iconic comic book franchises for the next couple years.

4. Iron Man.   Robert Downey Jr. nailed the role of Tony Stark so well I can’t see anyone else in the part.

5. Watchmen.  Has I said about Girl Revolution Utena TV show.  Watchmen comic and movie has so many different layers to it and I can watch it over and over again and fined something new in it.

6. The Punisher.  The Second Punisher movie back in 2004 was classic in every way.  I like the way Punisher look like in Warzone, but that’s all I  like about the new Punisher movie.

7. Batman Begins.  When you watch the first 20 plus minutes of the film you think you are watching a regular movie.

8. Blade 2.  I know some of CGI looks kind of lame, but the fighting and story are really good.

9. Superman 2.  Best Superman movie hands down.  I wish they would make a live action Superman movie where he fought Darkled.

10. X-Men.  Good plot and fun to watch.

11. Ghost Rider.  I don’t care what people say.  I though Nick Cage did a fine job has Ghost Rider.  Can’t wait for part 2.

12. Ghost World.  I know this is more of a down to earth comic book about a young women named Enid.  She living her life in a normal word.  I love the characters in this film.  I just wish she would have stayed with Seymour at the end of the film.  If she did it would have been higher on my list.

13. Blade.  Say what you want about Wesley Snipes now and days.  He made it ok for big name Hollywood stars to play parts in comic book movies.

14. Spiderman.  Once you see Peter Parker swing around in this movie and fight the Green Goblin.  That’s all you need.

15. The Incredible Hulk.  I love Edward Norton in this film.  He did a good job.  I don’t know what people want from a Hulk film.   Bruce Banner is a alone in a world where he could hurt allot of people.  He’s not going to have a happy go lucky person.

16. Batman.  I know the Batman is allot more campy than the new movies, but I still like it.

17. Superman: The Movie.  The only Superman movie to have only Lex Luthor has the main villain (I don’t count the opening part in the film with General Zod because he really wasn’t part of the main storyline in this film.) and it do it right.

18. Batman Returns.  Two words.  Cat Women.

19. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.  Seeing the Silver Surfer in action is really cool.  If we could have really seen Galactus in this movie.  That would have made me put it high on my list.

20. Sin City.  I love the black and white look to this film.  I just wish they didn’t kill off MARV in the film.  I love his story the most.

I don't why more people can't like anime and comic books like I do.
