10 - Always loved the Dreamcast. It's a shame that it wasn't more successful. And keeping with the Dreamcast theme...

8 - I'm not sure I'd want a mech that runs on Windows.

From the same artist as the other picture. Here's his Deviantart profile in case you want to check out more of his work.

8 - Too bad you can't add Guile's theme to a picture.

Just Anime » The most frightnening animes (as in horrible) i ever saw

@Makoto_Mizuhara_Sakamoto:  I doubt I actually will. I have an absolutely terrible memory, so I barely remember anything about many of the early shows I watched. While I'd love to go back and see them again, and try to see what sparked my interest in anime, I doubt I ever will. I'm interested, but not that interested I guess.

Just Anime » The most frightnening animes (as in horrible) i ever saw

I can't really think of many anime that I absolutely hate. I can usually tell pretty quickly whether I will like a show or not. If I don't like it I stop watching and quickly forget about it. The most recent one I can think of is High School of the Dead. After the first episode I had already decided it was terrible. I forced myself to watch a second episode and it just confirmed my feelings. Maybe it gets better after the second episode. Frankly, I don't care enough to find out.

@Makoto_Mizuhara_Sakamoto: Green Legend Ran was one of the first anime I ever saw. That was some time ago, though, and I barely remember anything other than the title. I plan on watching it again someday.

Just Anime » What's your favorite Soul Eater character?

I've always liked Maka. Her personality is very endearing and I like her style. I also like Harvar. He doesn't get showcased that much, but I like seeing him used.

Off-Topic » whats the first 5 animes you have seen

@PenguinDust:  I had forgotten how bad the intro to that show was. I wouldn't mind seeing the original Japanese version of the show since I've never seen it before. I've heard it was quite different from the American version. As with most shows Saban brought to America, they pretty much did whatever they wanted with the original material.

Off-Topic » whats the first 5 animes you have seen

From what I can remember, my earlier exposures to anime were Ronin Warriors, Samurai Pizza Cats, Green Legend Ran, Macross Plus, and Iria: Zeiram the Animation. With the exception of Ronin Warriors, I barely remember anything about the others. Someday I need to go back and watch them again.

General Discussion » Tearjerkers

Kanon has always been able to elicit a deep emotional response from me. Even though I've watched it multiple times and know what to expect, I still can't help but cry throughout it. They do such a good job making you care about the characters, so when something bad happens, and lots of bad things happen, I can't help but get emotional. Clannad, another Key series, never really did that to me, but Kanon always does.

Another series that seems to get to me, is Ookiku Furikabutte. That probably seems like a strange series to cry during, but I find the ending to be very emotional. I've been in that same situation before, so it brings back memories and I can really relate to how the characters would be feeling at that moment.

The ending up Welcome to the NHK brings me pretty close. I really like Misaki, so seeing what happens to her during the final few episodes is really depressing. This is even more true if you've read the novel, since the anime doesn't touch on some of the really bad things that happened to her during her life.

Off-Topic » Marvel vs Capcom 3, anyone?

So far, my main team has been X-23, Zero, and Super Skrull. I've also been messing around with Captain America/C. Viper/Chris and Wolverine/Morrigan/Amaterasu a bit. If anyone is interested in playing, my XBL name is Render Farmer.

Off-Topic » Hot Or Cold Whats better

I definitely prefer the heat. I live in a place where it frequently reaches 120F (49C) during the summer, so I suppose it's a good thing I don't mind hot weather.

Off-Topic » what do you think about suicide?

@ssjsuperman: What if the person had a family, but their mental instability was having a serious detrimental impact on that family. Would the damage of a suicide outweigh the effects that can be caused by being raised in a damaging environment?

Battles » Mr. Fantastic vs Dhalism vs Luffy

Assuming Mr. Fantastic does not get to use any of his inventions or have any prep time, Luffy should be able to beat all of them.

Off-Topic » what do you think about suicide?

I've been asked that question before, and it seems my ideas are different than the general consensus I usually hear. I think suicide is perfectly all right. I don't believe it is something someone should do as a spur of the moment action. A person should try to find another solution to their problems before seriously considering suicide. But, if a person has truly considered all opportunities, and suicide still seems like the best possible course of action, then I would not have a problem with it. It is a shame, but it is ultimately their choice and I would not blame anyone if they decided they had to do it.

Just Anime » Anime recommendations in retrospective

If I was able to predetermine the exact order I would see them in, then I would start with one of the best. That way my interest would be piqued. From there, I would plan some that are still good, but maybe not at that same level. And then follows those with one that is really good again.

If I couldn't choose exactly what order they would fall, I would want to watch the best ones first. Sure, it would probably mess with my expectations a bit, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see what it would be like to see some of my favorite series for the first time with fresh eyes.

And maybe I'm thinking too deeply into a completely hypothetical question.

General Discussion » Soul Eater

Your question has prompted me to come out of my lurker status. Soul Eater is certainly one of my favorite shows. The show features a strong mix of action, humor, and seriousness, without relying too much on any one theme. This, coupled with Atsushi Ohkubo’s distinct art style, make this show stand apart from so many others. There is a large cast of characters and each one feels unique and necessary to the story being told. Also, despite being 51 episodes long, there is very little filler. With the exception of the occasionally humerous interlude, most of the episodes keep the story moving and flowing well.

You can watch some of the episodes for free on Hulu and at Funimation's website. That might help you get a better idea about the series and whether you will like it or not. The manga is also currently being released in the US by Yen Press. It seems they are doing a good job with the translation and publishing. The manga follows the plot of the show pretty closely, only diverging towards the end of the anime.
