15 was pretty good. The executioners were really getting old. Sinner this an sinner that /bleh.

@takashichea: I would argue whats inhibited the growth of the anime industry is the anime industry. From not wanting shows subtitled to over priced dvd / bluerays. To breaking a season down for multiple release for more money. An then leaving money on the table for shows that are famous the world over. Their own business models are not world market based or but based on their own market. Failure to adapt opens the doors for others to make money where they chose not to.

Good example would be Detective Conan. Funamation holds the North America rights so fan subs are being hit with legal notice. Yet Funamation does not fill the void with subtitles on their own. Oddly Kindaichi Case Files Returns which comes in under Detective Conan in ratings ( but stays in the top 10 ) does have subtitles an is on Chrunchyroll. Think of the extra money they would get if it was a subtitled version of Detective Conan was leased to Chrunchyroll?

Same thing the comic industry learned the hard way. Comic industry did not want to use digital an others profited from it. That an the acidity of the fanboys almost killed that industry.Oddly Manga was ahead of the curve with digital. As a general rule Manga out sales comics wold wide. They adapted. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-05-21/japanese-comic-ranking-may-12-18/.74784 note thats one week in may an some titles have close to 800k sales. http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2014/2014-05.html top saler was 147k. When you look world market it gets worse for comics.

Not a advocate for piracy by any means. But I do watch shows where I can. Pirate sites per say do not make money off of me. AdBlock ,which i have turned off for Anime Vice so the site can get that ad revenue. Tho I have been suckered before on buying dvds @sickVisionz: did help me figure out I was being duped along the way on those. So now I just buy DvD / Bluerays from Amazon mostly.Tho Right Stuff can have a sale worth looking at to.

That said Industry like people are their own worst worst enemy.

15 was better again. Still feel things were drawn out way to long. An even with this episode being better had the feeling the showdown would be next episode.

@takashichea: No clue.

@Supreme Marvel: Till ya see episode 2 don't read the spoiler bit here.

Hey looks like we was both right. Tho 2 was predictable it still was a good ride.

@AURON570: To be fair civilians always suffer when because of poor thinking from people in power tho. Positions of power does not make one wise, honest or smart. But so far the earth side really is not at fault. An the "Martians" gained a huge amount of power an a royal attitude to to match it seems.

An Psycho-Pass is my favorite of his works. There is a similar spark here about power like from Psycho-Pass. Power all in one place is not a good thing. Or at least thats what it apeers to me at 1st glance. Also Gen Urobochi is credited as creator of this but not as a writer or that their are other writers even.

If can give it 2 more episodes to try an win ya over. The 2nd episode I thought was pretty solid.

2nd episode was solid. Good amount of tension an action. Bit predictable tho. Death flags were to easy to spot for me :/ But it was enjoyable none the less.

@Bigheart711: True true .Had thought of that other night because of how they do time an ratings. Still tho would be a mistake to put this show at the early time slot for censor . Unless your helping to set up uncensored dvd sales. Which is not out of the realm of odds all things considered.

@Low: Bit early for me to say its one I want to own. Seen to many series start solid an get average to meh before the end. Oddly enuff Tokyo ESP is not getting the black shadow censoring. An yes limbs get cut an blood does spew!

Pilot was holly crap am I missing a episode! It just kicked into high gear real fast. Got the back story fairly fast. But this might be the fastest plot set up this season.

Also super hero me thinks should be added to the tags for the show. It has that kinda vibe. Comments on few other sites run the same way like something is missing. Some are saying next episode it the set up? Some also are saying this started right around chapter 30 of the manga? @DocHaus: that sound right to you?

Pilot was break neck fast on the set up. Maybe a bit to fast? Could be fun comedy for the season as it seems to spoof harem an many of the girl anime tropes.

@takashichea: Ya tension if not seen in right light feels like slow an not drama just slow. To me the tension felt about right but was really really sick yesterday to so drying paint may have seemed like tension to me as well!

Ya the other female officer kinda hinted at that to didn't she? I mean he is the key to her mech.

@takashichea: If it holds true to how it used to then 1 week at best 2 weeks at worst. Funimation has messed up fan subs for some shows to even tho they do not show the series on their online network! Detective Conan is one of them. Always amazed how Anime is expensive an yet leaves money on the table for wanted shows.

@Low: This show reminds me alot of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampire:_The_Masquerade with a secret group making the rules for the others to live by etc.

Easy prediction the black shadow censor blood an gore bit an maybe even the white fog sensor for nudity will get a work out in this series.

1st off I am a fan of the original series. As well as its season 2. This pilot helps new to the show people get up to speed fairly quickly. An reminds me I really should be buying the 1st an second seasons asap.

Always was a fan of that era in England as a story setting. An this combines that with one hell of a butler. An this show lives up to the other seasons right off the bat. Curious how it fits in the other season time line tho.

Psycho-Pass » Psycho-Pass Anime Discussion Thread

Pilot for the "New Edit" was pretty good. Each one is longer than the original episodes. So its more like 2 episodes in one around 48 minutes or so.

Illustration style has been upgraded or polished like they do for tv to anime movie. In some respects its great an others its bit blurry. An the order of the events are scrambled a touch with new scenes added.

So far would recommend this to those that saw the original as a primer for next season which starts in fall i believe.

@takashichea: That list above feels even more true in the New Edit . The cyberpunk feel was more there than the original to me. Also

William Gibson's Neuromancer is a must read for fans of ghost in the shell and or this series. That book is considered the book that make the gene of cyberpunk.

Would have to break out my old Cyberpunk rpg books to list all the older good stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Snow-Crash-Bantam-Spectra-Book/dp/0553380958/ref=pd_sim_b_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=18MPPE4S13K1GMV79EYQ was another great one.

Bladerunner is also a good cyberpunk movie to.

Seen the pilot an read a bit about it. Its kind of a mix of movie an the original series. It takes some different turns an side stories. Not sure if all new animation but if not older animation with movie polish seems about right. Not bad it moves along pretty good.

An if you watched the 1st series then you catch the side story sifts fairy quick. As well as " new" characters. Or older characters with different traits.

Pilot was interesting. May want to avoid other forums about this show tho. Some comments on how happy it made some people to remember 9/11 just were vile. Other than that were looking at something made by the director of Cowboy Bebop. bit more info on the characters here http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-03-21/cowboy-bebop-director-watanabe-composer-kanno-make-zankyo-no-terror-anime
