Off-Topic » Why Doesn't AV Get A Chat For The Live Show Today?

Chat on the other sites was also down earlier before the show. They made changes so it would use the new Whiskey Media channel on Justin.tv, and provide the required password. I guess they forgot to deploy the changes on Anime Vice, and by the time they realized it probably would have been to late. It seems they engineers were having too much fun watching the show to check that all the chats were operating properly.

I know they're working on a white version of Giant Bomb right now, and I would imagine that a white version of Anime Vice is also in the works.
It would be quite welcome, because this colour scheme makes Giant Bomb and Anime Vice almost unusable on my home PC. :(

Where's the link to the crowd moderation tool? In the old site design it used to be under the Users menu, but it's not there at all any more.
Even more unusual, there are only five items in the queue. I guess we just don't get many new members submitting images?

Bug Reporting » Redesign Bug: Images Disappear from the All Images gallery

Yeah, it's a real pain. Default images never used to be attached to the page properly. I would often just click the edit button and submit it to make the image attach properly, but now there's no way to get to those images at all. You can't use the search to find the image because that only finds images that are actually attached to the page; it won't give you the default image.

It's happening to me on Giant Bomb, and unfortunately Axersia tells me he can't actually approve them because it's busted for the mods too.

Bug Reporting » Denied Wall Comments Won't Disappear

Comments from banned users? I believe I've heard about that problem on Giant Bomb. All you can do is wait for them to drop off the page apparently. There was a problem with the redesign where they wouldn't drop off the page, but that has been resolved. This problem though, the one that caused the other problem, hasn't been resolved though. And I assume it won't get fixed, since they were already made aware of the problem and didn't fix it then. Just wait for it to drop off your wall.

I've always interpreted the rule as not allowing us to show nudity with those important parts visible. And that if someone was nude but covered up well enough that it would be okay. Coonce has seen some of the fan art that we've uploaded and it doesn't seem to have bothered him. He probably didn't make the rules though...

Bug Reporting » Created Link uses just part of the text I selected

It's one of the more frustrating bugs I've found on the Whiskey Media sites.
In my most recent Giant Bomb blog entry, I tried to make each of those games link to their appropriate pages on Giant Bomb, but I ran into that same problem. :(

So I'm looking at the HTML source right now, and it seems there are <span> tags strewn about where there is no need for <span> tags. I think that might be what's causing the problem, but unfortunately we can't do anything about it because we can't edit the HTML of our posts or wiki articles. Otherwise I would remove all those unnecessary <span> tags.

As a role-player you should be trying to be fake-annoying, not real-annoying. And only if it actually fits your character. Annoying people only serves to... annoy people.

I've had that happen to me on Giant Bomb.


He said he'd make a bug report, but it might be a good idea to raise the issue on Anime Vice as well just to make sure the staff realize it's not just that page.

Activity items disappear eventually on their own; but if that sort of thing ever really bothers you, you can just submit a blank status update (just use a space) repeatedly until only those blank status updates are visible in your feed.

Editing & Tools » Official names for characters: a rule?

Japanese names can be entered in the Japanese Name and Romaji fields. And if it's different from the name used in English-speaking regions, then it can be added as an alias as well.
But in the case of anime and manga that wasn't localized use their Japanese names, not an unofficial English one.
