@cfatalis said: "watch ultimate, read the manga, then watch the anime "Or read the Manga (much much better) then watch Ultimate..... You can totally ignore the Anime if you want XD.
Little_Sparrow replied to the topic Hellsing or Ultimate. in the Hellsing board. 2:19AM
Watch Ultimate first, it follows the story of the hellsing Manga and is much better then the Anime IMO, The anime has some good episodes but is lacking in alot of ways,

I hope Naruto tells her to get out of his face, She is lying to him and he knows it, She is just doing this so he does not have to break his word, Naruto knows this and I hope this helps thicken the story in Naruto's life.

Hi guys, I don't know if many of you have noticed the flagging system that we use over here on vice, but at the edge of anyone post next to reply you will see a Flag, this lets you flag their post for a mods attention. Now what happens when a users post is flagged is that each user gets one karma point. So say I flag someone they will get one point and so will I. Now if you get four points you are unable to submit wiki. Now when a Mod checks the flagged post if the mod checks the flagged item and it is has broken the site rules then the Mod will click moderate and the point will be removed from the reporting users profile, If it has not broken the site rules and the mod decried to not do anything then the reporting user keeps the point and the person that was flagged losses the point. 1 Points stay on you're account for twenty four hours, so if you get 4 point it will take four days for those points to come off you're account.

Just at the bottom left of someone's post is the Flag Button!

The flagging system is here for you guys to help us as well us help you, If something is flagged we will make sure to get to it and deal with it as quick as possible. Also if something is happening and it is not in the threads remember you can PM myself or any of the other mods and we will more then happily help at any time.

This is just me being me but, when you make a wiki sub and it has this little box at the bottom leave a comment for the mods, if you are editing a large article can you please leave a comment in fact it is good practice to leave a comment for every sub. Here are some guidelines to help.

Just on the left hand side at the bottom under the red bar, you can leave a comment for us.
Just on the left hand side at the bottom under the red bar, you can leave a comment for us.

1. Don't just say "Cuz it should be on the site" tell us why and the series it is linked too.
2. Do not put random rubbish in the comment box, actually tell us why you are submitting it.
3. We don't need a story in the comment box, just a comment and that way we know what we are looking at.
4. NO abuse in the comment boxes.
5. Good luck subbing.

This way we can get straight to you're changes and approve them making the process faster and easier for the user and the mods.

 The Oldest Manga

So this is my weeks blog on Manga (as I will be off work most of this week and spending it with Jewel) I thought what would be an interesting fact finding mission for myself this week. Last week I had a look at age demographic and that got me to thinking on age. What is the oldest Manga of all time so I started to do some digging and found some very interesting things. I must say when i started this I thought that it would be a short post and a quick look. But in fact I found some truly amazing things. Like did you know that Golgo 13 has been running since 1969 and is currently ongoing! or that in 1976 Kochikame first kicked off and is another ongoing series, these two are the oldest manga still running. But this was not what I set out for on my quest I wanted the oldest manga ever. not ten years not even fifth teen I wanted to go back further and that lead me to think what is Manga to us how is it different from comics, The art, the story what draws us to this type of work over the shiny American comics. I came up with many answers but to me it would be originality, Most Manga's have very different characters and stories that don't just focus on the main character. Take bleach for instance the last three weekly chapters have not had a sight of its main character and this is something seen throughout Manga, Also Manga has been around a lot longer then comics!

The Four Students Manga
The Four Students Manga

Take work such as the The Four Immigrants Manga (original title: Manga Yonin Shosei, "The Four Students Manga") was drawn by Henry (Yoshitaka) Kiyama, a Japanese immigrant who came to San Francisco in 1904. It consists of 52 two-page spreads--a year's worth of weekly comics--following the lives of four Japanese students in America. A book collection was published in San Francisco in 1931. Much later, manga historian Frederik Schodt rediscovered it and put out this translated edition with lots of excellent notes and explanations of the historical stuff.   The first official comic came to us in 1842  "The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck" the first collection of panel art with text to hit the US. Would it shock you to know Horusai Katsushika was the first person to ever utter the words Manga almost thirty years before the first comic! But sadly it was not until 1902 that Kitazawa created the first serialized Japanese comic strip. It as if there will always be the debate of what came first the chicken or the egg or in our case the comic or Manga.

As I said this was not an easy task digging into the history of the Manga world is no small feat, you would think that Kitazawa in 1902 would be the first Manga and that is where the trail should end, or should it? Where do we draw the line in Manga world so I looked on to find something very interesting titled Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga , this was a set of four scrolls written by Toba Sōjō and is credited for the origin for right to left reading direction in modern manga and novels in Japan. These scrolls are over nine hundred years old, These scrolls belonging to Kōzan-ji temple in Kyoto, Japan. The Chōjū-giga scrolls are also referred to as Scrolls of Frolicking Animals. The story tells of the antics of a monkey and it is also believed that these scrolls have inspired many stories over the ages. So how old is Manga well that’s up to us to determine hope you enjoyed the blog.

Well I was doing a little research online and looking at age demographic for sales ending June 2009 and found a few interesting things out. Below is a list of the top 4 manga's for each age group I thought more appropriate for this website and to see if you can agree with them, what amazed me was the difference in manga titles, male readers aged between 10 - 20 bought just enough D.man Gray so it could get the number 9 spot on the top ten but women of the same age group have it as a number 3. I was also over the moon to see Hunter X Hunter make it into my age group as it is one of my top twenty Manga to read at the moment. I also thought this would help if anyone is looking for a new Manga to read as some of the titles you on the list may seem fairly obvious but you have never thought of picking them up. What else is there to say One Piece dominated in all of the male groups holding the number one spot all the way to the 50 - 60's readers? Also a strange occurrence was Bleach dropping of the top 4 in the 20 - 30's true there is a lull in time between us getting our hand's on the titles and the Japanese release dates! But I thought it would have been higher in that group. The female titles where also very different from what I thought it would be there is some great stories in there such as  Kimi ni Todoke and    NANA but then out of nowhere that shocking little Pirate and his team make a reappearance at number 3 in the women's 20 -30.

Right im sick of this whole Curb Stomp... GOku VS Superman: GOku Curb Stomp..... Sorry thats not an actually argument for or against. It is in fact the worst way to get you point across, If a battle is made at least have the frame of mind to post your point of view and not just CURB STOMP! I mean we all know the characters why is it a curb stomp EXPLAIN YOURSELFS . Its the dumbest thing people can post in a battle thread it tells us nothing and leads to this type of arugment "Curb Stomp".."NO WAY SUPES CURB STOMP" . If your going to debate in a battle then DEBATE! and if it is a so called curb stomp then its really just a spite thread is it not???
