Off-Topic » PSP Manga Comics Are Go

Downloadable comics will join the Japanese PlayStation Store library on December 10 under a new "Comics" category.

The content will be available at around ¥420 for a full book and between ¥50 and ¥150 for individual chapters. Unlike other PS Store content, the comics are purchased rather than rented. All varieties of the PSP, from the original PSP-1000 to the just released PSPGo, will be able to access the content.

Users will need to have their firmware updated to System 6.20 (available on November 19). This firmware update will add a new "Extra" column to the PSP's XMB (Cross Media Bar) interface. You'll be able to click on an icon under this column to download the required Comic Reader.

Content is being provided by such publishers as Ascii Mediaworks, Enterbrain, Kadokawa Shoten, Kodansha, Shueisha, Shogakkan, Square Enix ), Softbank Creative, Bandai Visual, Bunkasha, Futabasha, Fujimi Shobo, and Hakusensha.

Sony has yet to share a launch lineup for the service.

There's no word on the possibility manga eventually reaching the western services, but given the circumstances it's likely.

Off-Topic » Square Enix's "Party Castle" Community Site

Square Enix are in the beta stages of creating a new community site known as Party Castle.

Party Castle allows users to create 3D character models which can be converted from 2D images. This forms the basis of the service's character editor, which basically allows users to apply illustrations to existing 3D character models for customization. The service will also feature a motion editor and scene editor, these will naturally be used for making movies and taking screenshots of your avatar. Once you've created an avatar, you can also venture out into a "Party Plaza" area, where you can interact with others using a range of community tools. Your character will exist in one of three fantasy kingdoms, each with different histories and culture.

I don't dismiss the new stuff of the cuff of course, it's just that I am weary of about whether they will appeal to me as older stuff does. Anyway, I do hope to broaden my tastes while here, I feel like I have lost touch with what's happening now.

Thanks for the welcome fella :)

Off-Topic » Hi Im new and goodbye thread

Hello fellow Anime and Manga lovers, Linkyshinks from London is in need of some welcoming ;) I can see I already know a few here, from Giant Bomb mainly... I look forward to getting to know those I don't know a bit better over the following months ;)

I'm a touch old school when it comes to my love of Anime and Manga, in truth I don't really know much about the modern stuff, but I am here to open my eyes to more stuff, if it appeals to me that is. I am in my 30s and certain themes wont appeal to me I think.

I like Osamu Tezuka work a lot, I love the Buddha series, love Astroboy of course. I actually went to a exhibition of  Tezuka'a work last year here in London. I adore Miyazaki sans work, I like how he depicts nature in all his work. Rumiko Takahashi got me into the world of Anime all at the age of 14, back then I liked reading Ranma 1/2 and Maison Ikkoku.
