there are similarities but personally i found lelouch a genuinely interesting character , and light was not likeable in any way. i think that at the end of the day Lelouch regretted his more heinous actions but knew they were necessary whereas light never showed any signs of regret.

i think Death Note is waaay overrated. its good but not the masterpiece its hailed as. Evangelion for me also felt like it didnt live up to the hype. I can see how it blew people away when it first aired but i only watched it in the last 5 years.
