has to be Dubs. as an Irish anime fan growing up anytime anime was shown on tv it was always the dub so its just my natural way to watch. i have watched plenty of subs too though so i have nothing against them.

  • Alucard springs to mind. its just Dracula backwards so at first it seems lazy but its a kick-ass name in its own right.

  • forget about Death and Re-birth. it is basically a re-hash of the first 20 episodes of the Anime. it has a few extra scenes in it and its a good catch up if you watched the anime a long time ago. but if you just finished the anime, skip it. The End of Evangelion is awesome and its a fitting end to the series, most people were unhappy with 25+26 ...

thankfully my suspicion was correct and Dead Fantasy 3 was short because the vids were going to be shorter and more frequent. here is the proof Dead Fantasy IV. still short but a better vid than 3 IMOhttp://www.gametrailers.com/video/dead-fantasy-monty-oum/52836

ok so we have all been there. you hear about a series, you check it out and it sounds good and you watch it. Only to find out its horrible and you end up being bored stupid. That happened to me when i watched Virus Buster Serge.
But every now and then the opposite happens, you watch an anime that you never heard about, and on paper it sounds like it will be terrible to mediocre at best and it turns out to be really enjoyable. this is what i experienced with Heat Guy J, now you probably never heard of it, cos i never did and only have the series as part of a fortnightly anime dvd collection thats ongoing in uk/ireland at the moment. I highly reccomend this Anime to everyone here, i wont go into too much detail here as im going to do a wiki, episode guide and review but basically its billed as a 'buddy-cop' show which is such a cliche and when you see its a human paired with an android you think its not the most original idea. But the difference here is that the characters are really well designed and the two main characters work really well together and share some good exchanges. The animation is solid the whole way throughout but the star of this show is really the story. it starts out as a mafia/crime based story and that whole mafia angle does not show up in anime much but not only is the story good by anime standards but this plot would hold up anywhere.

anyway ill say no more and leave the details to the wiki but i highly suggest you go to youtube and check this show out. if you watch the first 4 eps and have no desire to watch number 5 i will be shocked

just finished watching Virus Buster Serge and let me tell you i regret it. It is hands down one of the worst animes i have seen for a while. What makes it worse is that it seemed to have all the right elements for a good show, alien invasion, shady corporations, political intrigue, battles with mech-suits, etc.  The problem with the show is two-fold , first the plot is a mess; and second characters just are not that interesting so that when the story has its moments you are still bored stupid.  take Raven, for example, the leader of the team in the series. He is portrayed to be similiar to Gendo Ikari from Evangelion in that he leads the good guys but he is manipulating everything behind the scenes to achieve his own goals. But whereas Gendo was interesting to watch Raven does not even come close, his dialogue is just so flat and the writing so bad that you don't care. The same argument can be made for most of the main cast, they are nothing original and are similar to other characters you would have come across before, but they just lack a personality.

Avoid this show at all costs

I'm not going to beat around the bush here, Heat Guy J is excellent. It is the kind of series you come across every once in a while where you know next to nothing about it and on paper it does not sound that great but once you watch the first few episodes it hooks you in and provides hours of solid entertainment. The reason i liked it so much is 2-fold. First,  it has got some great characters, and some really memorable characters: my personal favorites are clair leonelli, the head of the cities biggest crime family , and Buma, a sword-fighting werewolf who not only looks cool but has one of the most entertaining sub-plots in the series:  and second, the story is extremely well told and is an interesting tale touching on many different themes and as a piece of mafia/crime fiction it could hold its own against many similar tales. The character designs are excellent across the board with one exception, Daisuke's brother Shun could easily pass for the twin brother of Integra from Hellsing, and the dub is extremely good here. a lot of dubs are poor but here it  is well casted and all the voice actors do a great job and fit their respective characters to a tee. The story really is the star of the series in my opinion . Once the main plot really starts to develop it moves at a great pace and there is not that many episodes i would consider filler. There are some great twists in the second half of the series and some of them really throw you off guard. The story deals a lot with the theme of revenge and to be specific the idea of taking revenge, versus letting go of your hate. Personally i find the mark of a good series is that when you are not watching it you are thinking about and trying to figure out whats going on, and Heat Guy made me do this a lot.
The animation is also excellent and mixes in some CG/3D effects into some sequences and these sequences look good more than they don't. The action is fast paced and well animated.

Overall this is an excellent series. The main characters Daisuke and J are fun to watch and have a great partnership and most of the support characters are equally if not more entertaining. It's got a great story and excellent animation and voice acting and i would reccomend it to any anime fan.
