Chapter 3: The Battle Starts
Sigh.... I was hoping that you wouldnt react like that, said the Knight in a whisper, soft enough to remain unheared by Maximus. Aestus was dissapointed, he didnt wanted to do this, but the negative, and frankly quite rude, reply of Maximus put him in a difficult position, since Maximus, personality apart, seemed a nice guy, and Aestus didnt wanted to fight him, but his orders were clear, he would have to engage the guitar wielding mage in battle and take the answer he needed, or if it was the case, he would capture Maximus and drag him towards Terra Magus in chains and knocked down. Either way he had orders and he was determined to fullfill them.
This wasnt going as he wanted, but Maximus didnt left the circle created by his spells, and as the Red-haired Magus waved his cape, Aestus activated the Ruina Pleias, as he summoned his spear, and started casting another spell. He rushed foward, Regium Ignis.... His hand got covered in fire, and he hitted the ground with the tip of his spear, an action that launched him over Maximus, while the Ruina Pleias were moving from seven different directions, forming a spiral pattern, so moving around would be difficult for his target, as he also blocked the sky. Securis Talea!!! Aestus released the Flame axe, as the Pleias were about to crash into their target.
He finished the jump over Maximus and with a smal mid-air twist, using his spear as a pivot in the ground, he turned around as he landed, convinced that the attack he just made wouldnt be enough to stop Maximus, but at least he hoped to graze him, Aestus didnt liked to attack a enemy from behind, the Ensis Code even adviced against it, but his Mentor, Celatus, taught him to take advantage of any chance he got, his master was a natural born battle pragmatist, that used his spells in creative ways. He once saw the Tarasque Knight turning stones into Steel with his magic and building a makeshift catapult to lauch them, only to beat a golem.
Aestus hoped to be just like his master one day, but he knew that if he diodnt captured Maximus he wouldnt see his master Celatus again, or any of the other members of the order, the people that became his family for most of his life. This was a battle he couldnt afford to lose, and he was giving his utmost concentration to it, trying to cast as fast and precise as he could, since as he knew that Maximus was a Lighting mage, he knew that he would surely we fast, and taking in account the Red-haired Magus reputation and the fact he survived the exile in the outer world it only tipped the scale more to his side than the side of the Phoenix Knight

Batsu was headed to Lithuania, where several small scale wars started, and a man like him, with a militar background, at least a mercenary background, and he wanted to help, or at least transport some refugees, but to his surprise he discovered a trail of liberated villages and the marks of a known blade, ans he keep following the tracks he reached a village where the tracks ended, he entered hoping to find a known face, or at least an ally, since for what he saw here there would be much more handiwork than his own to help this people, since it seemed like if the hope was stripped away from them, Batsu really felt bad for these people and for his own weakness, if he had being more powerful before he could have at least damaged Newdeath, that even with his utmost effort wasnt harmed and easily beated the hell out the Gale Swordsman.
