General Discussion » Worse or Worser: DBZ Kai vs. DB GT

@kashif1 said:

The only people that don't like kai are you and that dude who saw the fourkids version(much more understandable than your nostalgia).

Typical fanboy attitude, state every positive thing about your favorite series as facts, and believe that any criticism doesn't exist.

General Discussion » Worse or Worser: DBZ Kai vs. DB GT

@Destinyheroknight said:

No, it don't

By saying that, you basically saying that DBZ manga is bad to (since Kai is the retelling of the manga)

You're giving a short-sighted view on the situation. Aspects about Kai are not in the manga, because they can't, like music and voice acting,

Kai seems like it was for people that never liked DBZ to begin with. Funimation cut way to much, and didn't stay true to the original version, like bringing back the original voice actors for on, for the series to give me a ad taste in my mouth.

Funimation wanted to make more money off the series so the made a inferior version that alienated old school fans like myself to get extra cash off people that they never milked. And Funimation has a history of milking so much cash off fanboys. Just look at the majority of those terrible DBZ games, they wasted their money on that crap.

cool story. was that before or after you trolled your own thread to death?
So much irony in this post. You spent a lot of time in the Giantbomb community don't you?

Anyways, feeding the troll is what you're interesting in, so I'm going to stop right there. Go ahead and reply, I'm not going to give you more to feed on.

Cowboy Bebop » Up to This Point: A Sequel Will Never Be a Thing?

There have been some terrible continuations like the episodes of Tenchi Muyo OVA that debut from early 2000's. I doubt the creator of the series will do just a bad job with Cowboy Bebop.

The problem with sequels, is the the makers tends to forget certain aspects of what made the original so great, or not bring anything new to the table. There have been some cases were the sequel that's completely different from the original, but what it presents is so awesome. Prime example: Army of Darkness.

I don't know how people will feel about having Spike survive the attack in the last episode, in order  to continue the series. As long as they can make something good from it, I'll be fine with that.

do you just come on this site to bash Kai? just wondering
Don't try to come at me with your ignorant fanboy rant like you did the last time. Accept the fact that there's people that don't like Kai, and move on.

Cowboy Bebop » Up to This Point: A Sequel Will Never Be a Thing?

@Turambar
I never saw it that way when he fell to the floor. It can easily be written that Spike survived, so the series can be continued. Which I don't mind.

As for that star that faded away, a lot of people died on that episode.

Cowboy Bebop » Up to This Point: A Sequel Will Never Be a Thing?

It's pretty much been ten years since Cowboy Bebop's US debut in 2001 (It debuted in 1997 in Japan). A film adaptation came out afterwords, but it's not a continuation of the series, just a film that takes place sometime in between the TV show. The creator made Samurai Champloo after Cowboy Bebop, that was like six years ago, I don't know what he was doing after, supposedly he was just producing.

After ten years after the series was created, I do want to see a continuation of the series. I want to see if the relationship between Spike and Faye will evolve into what was hinted in the TV show.

General Discussion » Worse or Worser: DBZ Kai vs. DB GT

As I said before, DBZ Kai is just a butchered version of a classic. Horrible voice acting (for some of the characters), terrible intro, waaaaay too much content was cut out. DB GT on the on the hand is a sequel to the same classic anime. That too was also terrible, horrible pacing, lame fight sequences, annoying new characters, and convoluted plot (Vegeta gets zapped by a laser and automatically becomes SSIV).

So both animes are terrible, but if I had to chose one as the worser of the two, it's DB GT. Kai is okay at best, mainly because some of the material is still DBZ, though it' not go to say that I'll still watched more of that horrific version.

Toonami » The Return of Toonami?

Supposedly this is a fan made project that has nothing to do with Cartoon Network. I can sense legal actions coming to those people's way, but I hope that it will show Carton Network that people really love Toonami.

Anyone who can wipe someone from existence can easily get rid of Garlic. Most of those people have been said in the thread.

That's DBZ Kai. Garlic Jr. Saga was removed from that version of DBZ, which causes Garlic Jr. to not exist.

Not so much for me to like anything that has Dragon Ball Z's name on it, like Kai or any video game based on DBZ.

Tell that to the guys o'er at GB.

Or talk to a wall, same effect. Maybe even better

Right... I'd get a response from the wall, at least.
And you probably won't get replied to like a five-year-old with "nanana." I kid you not, Right after Linkyshink's banishment, the mod lordfuma replied to him with that comment.

Anyways, I'm still suspended, that's odd, it's been four days. The mod that suspended me said the words "temporary suspension." Looks like I got lied to. Hm, that troll that got banned was unbanned a day later, and I'm sill banned, obviously it has nothing to do with being bias >_>.

I can't help but think that you're leaving out some actions that you did after you got upset that likely were responsible for you getting suspended.

I posted a thread in the off topic forums, then it got trolled and spammed. I flag the post and even reported them to the mods. One of the users got banned for his actions, after, i figured things would go back on track.

But no, things got worse as users who were in support of the users that were trolling my thread defended him and saying that he deserve a second chance while derailing my thread. My thread got a bunch of new posts that had nothing to do with the topic, then I got upset. As a result, I got suspended while the people that were the cause of the problem got left unharmed.

The mod that suspended me said it was because of my "past behavior," It was because of my past disagreements that I posted in the forums. I knew that mod was clearly bias for the users that was the cause of the problem, and I wouldn't be surprise if he was the one that unbanned the user I was talking about.

Off-Topic » More Likely To Get Banned If You Keep Disagreeing?

I've been noticing a lot on multiple web sites that users who disagree a lot, no matter how good they are, tend to get ban for keep posting opinions that are a contrast to a lot of users in that web sites. While users who are flat out troll and spam a lot get away with it, all because they don't post opinions that are a contrast to others.

Mods always like to claim that it's "aggressive behavior," but here's the thing, I've seen users on the opposite side get just as aggressive, I've seen those users going around calling others a moron and a idiot, but for some reason they always get away with.

One situation is in GiantBomb, they're two users name Linkyshink and Oldschool - two great posters - they became infamous for being critical of the GiantBomb staff, they posted their opinions in a well thought out informed fashion, never like "LOL, the staff's journalism sucks." They get banned for being critical, in other words, disagreeing, while people who are flat out trolls and spammers or got just as aggressive are left unharmed.

Another situation is mine. Over at Capcom Unity I got "suspended" (I think, that's what the mods told me) for my behavior. I have been critical about how Capcom makes their games, my opinions were a contrast to many users of the forums. I went to the off topic forums to post a thread about Duke Nukem Forever, soon the thread got bombarded with spams and troll posts, a user got banned for that. I figured once that user got banned things would go back on track, but no, several users decided to derail the topic by saying stuff in defends of the troll, my thread got a bunch of new post that had nothing to do with the topic, I got upset about that, and here's what happens next, I got suspended. It was clear that I got unfairly treated due to my past behavior. And the banned user, got unbanned after.

Here's the moral of the whole thing, if you're a troll and a spammer, you can get away with it if you don't post opinions that are a contrast to many, just keep agreeing with mods and the majority of the community of that web sites.

General Discussion » E3 2011 Thread!

E3 is coming up (Or now if you're in this thread at the time of E3 week) and I know there's people on this site that like video games. So what games are you excited to get more information from? What's your reaction from the three major press conference? And what games do you what to see get announce?

Here's the schedule for the three press conference:

Monday
Microsoft - 9AM - 11AM.
Sony - 5PM - 6:30PM.
Tuesday
Nintendo - 9AM - 10AM.

The biggest draw for me from the Nintendo press conference is Project Cafe, I want to know what the hardware looks like, and what that touch screen controller can do. Seeing how I'm a PS3 owner, I'm curious to see what new games Sony has for their system (Maybe we'll see more info on Sly 4). There's also the new Sony handheld, don't really care for that, but I'll pay attention to the info on that. Don't care at all for Microsoft, I did watched their press conference last year, but I'm not so sure this year.

Games I'm excited to see are Street Fighter III Third Strike: Online Edition, Capcom said that the game's budget is higher than Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix, but Capcom confirmed that the game is not redrawn, so I'm super curious about what they're doing to justify the bigger budget. Mega Man Legends 3, don't know if that's going to be there, but who knows. Sonic Generations, maybe SEGA is going to show off that "Dreamcast Era" aspect of the game that I keep hearing about. After the awesomeness of Sonic Unleashed, SEGA gives the Hedgehog Engine another go. Street Fighter X Tekken, lets see if Capcom will get their act together for this game after the disappointing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (That game was bare bones with locked content that was held back to milk more money off of people, and has a shitty netcode).

And of course, I'll give you more insight about E3 throughout the week in this thread like all of you.
