I just finished watching the Clannad anime series (both of them) and well, I'm glad that I did. I really haven't watched much romance stuff but, I'm starting to get into it now. I enjoyed the characters, story, the comedy, the sadness, and all the wackiness of the show. The show started off basic in the first series but, it was very enjoyable. What I really liked was the second series, Clannad After Story. There was one part that made me cry when Tomoya started talking about his mother to his daughter, Ushio. I wasn't balling or anything but, it brought a tear to my eye.
The only thing that is on my mind at the moment is the ending. I'm not sure if I should be pissed or if I should be happy. While Nagisa gave birth to Ushio, she dies and Tomoya's life just goes down from there. Five years later Tomoya starts being with Ushio and they do just fine but, Ushio gets sick. Ushio ends up have the same mysterious illness that her mother had. One day Ushio wants to go on a trip with her father and he finally agrees to it. While the two of them are walking outside, slowly taking there time due to Ushio being weak, Ushio losses all of her energy and ends up dieing in Tomoya's arms. After all this, it shows the other world with the girl and robot but soon after that, you learn that the girl is actually Ushio and the robot is Tomoya. I big giant blast happens then all of a sudden, Tomoya wakes up at Ushio's birth and this time Nagisa doesn't die. When all that stuff happen I just couldn't help myself by saying "Really? REALLY?" I was just so confused yet, happy that the show actually ends on a happy ending.
My Score for the series: 4.5/5
Anyways, I'm very glad that I ended up watching the Clannad anime series. I'm not really sure what I should watch next. I want to watch another romantic comedy but, not sure which one I should watch next. Before I watched Clannad I watched Toradora, which I also loved.
Well, thanks for reading my blog. I'm not very good a describing stuff that well. I can think of how to describe it in my head but, it's sometimes hard to put it into words. I guess I should mention that this is my first blog post for AnimeVice. I kinda blog over at Giant Bomb but, not very often. I thinking of doing a blog post after I finished watching an anime/read a manga and tell my thoughts about it.
See you on the flip side!
