 Fate/Stay Night
 Fate/Stay Night
Plot Summary: Shirou Emiya lost his parents in a fire when he was young and was later adopted by a sorcerer by the name of Kiritsugu Emiya. Although he was full of admiration for his adopted father and yearns to become an ally of justice, Shirou has limited powers and was unable to become a strong sorcerer like his father. That is until one fateful day, he was drawn into the Holy Grail War and had to summon a female "Servant" known as Saber in order to protect himself. It turns out that the Holy Grail War involves a series of battles among powerful sorcerers to fight for the possession of a relic that will grant one's wishes, the Holy Grail. There are altogether seven "Masters" who can summon their respective "Servants" from different classes known as Saber, Archer, Rider, Berserker, Lancer, Caster and Assassin. These "Servants" have to hide their names in order not to reveal their weaknesses to the enemies. The story revolves around Shirou and his entanglement in the Holy Grail War.

After a long wait, I have finally seen Fate/Stay Night.  This show was actually on the top of my "to watch" list but, I kept putting it off.  With nothing to watch, I finally
 Shirou
 Shirou
decided to check it out.  Fate/Stay Night was a very good show.

The best thing about this show was defiantly the story (look at top of this blog).  It can get a little confusing and over the top and times but, I thought it was very interesting and kept the show going.  In a weird way, it kinda felt like Zach Bell.  Don't ask my how or why, it just did to me with all the "Masters" and "Servants" things but, this show was way better then that one.  Another great thing about the show was the characters.  Shirou, Saber, Rin, Archer, Illya, and many more.  It seems like the whole cast of character were very good.  The only thing I didn't like was Shirou.  Well, his outfit.  While everyone is dressed up in some fancy way, most of the time he was just wearing a plain shirt and jeans.  Real original guys.

 Rin, Sakura, and Saber

Fate/Stay Night was a very enjoyable show.  It has a great story and a great cast of characters.  This is one of the shows that seems like it could have been a little longer or maybe make another series.  As some of you may know, this show is based on a adult visual novel of the same name.  It would be cool if they picked a different story ark and made it into another season but, only a fan can wish for me.  If you enjoy action/fantasy shows, give this one a look.

My Score - 4.5/5

While I'm not sure what I think is the best ending, here is a one that I recently seen and I find to be charming and catchy.  Here is the ending theme to Spice and Wolf.

 To Love-Ru
 To Love-Ru

Her father wants her to return to her home planet so she can marry one of the husband candidates, but she decides that she wants to marry Rito in order to stay on Earth.

After watching Elfen Lied, which as a dark a brutal show, I thought I would watch something a little nicer so I picked To Love-Ru.
 Rito
 Rito
Since I'm a fan of harem comedies, I thought I would check this one out.

To Love-Ru was a fun and enjoyable harem show.  The story was goofy and awesome at the same time and it was easy to follow to.  Rito has a chance to rule the universe someday.  Who wouldn't want to do that?  The show also had lots of ecchi/fanservice.  Unfortunately the episodes I watched where censored so they rarely showed any panty shots, breasts, etc. what so ever.

 Lala, princess of Deviluke
 Lala, princess of Deviluke
Most of the characters were good.  Rito was very enjoyable.  It seemed like through out the whole show something bad always happens to him and he has to get out of sticky situations, especially during the final two episodes when he has the save planet earth from Lala's father.  Lala was a free spirited girl who happens to love Rito.  If she has something on her mind, she wants to do it.  In one of the episodes she sees a comercial for a hot spring so she wants one.  She ends up digging into the Earth and ends up finding the seven colored hot springs in the middle of the earth.  Haruna was a sweet girl.  While Rito likes her, I think she likes him back but, doesn't show anything.  Maybe this is cleared up in the manga.  There are other great characters as well but there is just one that is annoying, Saki.  While she did look sexy, she had that stupid annoying laugh of hers.  Every time she laughed, I wanted to kick her in the face.

If you are a fan of the harem genre, like me, then you will find some enjoyment out of the show.  It's unfortunate that the manga got canned do to not having fresh storyline material but, the anime is still worth a watch.

 Elfen Lied
 Elfen Lied
Plot Summary: The Diclonius, a mutated homo sapien that is said to be selected by God and will eventually become the destruction of mankind, possesses two horns in their heads, and has a "sixth sense" which gives it telekinetic abilities. Due to this dangerous power, they have been captured and isolated in laboratories by the government. Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, manages to break free of her confines and brutally murder most of the guards in the laboratory, only to get shot in the head as she makes her escape. She survives and manages to drift along to a beach, where two teenagers named Kouta and Yuka discovers her. Having lost her memories, she was named after the only thing that she can now say, " Nyu," and the two allow her to stay at Kouta's home. However, it appears that the evil "Lucy" is not dead just yet...    ( ANN)

Continuing my adventures through anime, I watched Elfen Lied.  At first glance you may think this might be like a harem show,
 Kouta
 Kouta

like me, but, it's not.  Elfen Lied is a horror anime with some harem through in.  In every episode you see blood, and lots of it.  People are getting cut in half, body parts cut off, it's nuts.  During episode 8 there is a part during one of Lucy's flashbacks when kids at her orphanage kill her dog.  It's really fucked up.  They just keep beating it and beating it till it's dead.  This show is defiantly not for kids what so ever.

You could say this show kinda has a split storyline.  One half deals with the Diclonius lab.  They are conducting experiments with the other Diclonius and all that junk.  And the other half deals with Kouta living his life.  Slowy they start merging together.   You find out that Kouta actually knew Lucy when she was little but, Kouta doesn't remember a thing till near the end of the series and shit goes down near the end.  From what I've heard, the anime ends differently then the manga but, this is usual for anime shows the end before the manga.

Like I said, this show is gory.
Like I said, this show is gory.
Overall I really enjoyed this show, more then I thought I would.  I guess I liked to super gory stuff.  The story is pretty interesting but, it goes even further in the manga from what I understand.  Lucy is probably the best character of the show.  You get to see her cute side and get to see her dark and twisted side.

My Score - 4.5/5

I'm really thinking about checking out the manga.  From those of you who have read the manga, what did you think of it?

  Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho
  Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho
Plot Summary: Kaname Okiura, a student of Prefectoral Umineko Shougyou High ("Umisho" for short), joined the school's swimming club in order to learn how to swim, but the club is filled with weirdos, let alone teaches him swimming. Then, a sunny, happy-go-lucky girl named Amuro Ninagawa who was transferred from Okinawa joined the club. Her extraordinary underwater speed and unorthodox swimming style (plus her personal habit of nude swimming—a powerful magnet to teenage boys) surprised every club member, especially Okimura, because she reminds him of a mermaid-like creature he saw only once in his early childhood.  (Taken from ANN

Possible Spoilers Ahead!

On my journey through the adventures of anime, next stop was Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho or Kenkō Nude Swimming Series Umishō in English.  I went into this thing not knowing about anything from the series. Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho is a show about swimming, with ecchi and fanservice thrown in.  This show was just outrageously goofy but, that's why I loved the show.  There was something that was just so goofy or over the top in ever episode, I just laughed through out the show.
 Masa Ikariya, the team captain.
 Masa Ikariya, the team captain.

The main character is Kaname Okiura.  He is the manger of the school swim club, despite not being able to swim due to an accident he had during his childhood.   One day Kaname was at the beach with Momoko Orizuka and they see a house boat come from the ocean.  On that house boat is Amuro Ninagawa who ends up joining the swim team due to being a excellent swimmer.  During the next day you meet everyone from the swim team.  While there are many on the team (mostly girls) there are some that stand out.  One being Masa Ikariya (nickname Ikamassa), the captain of the swim captain of the swim team.  At first you think he could be a teacher but, he is actually a 3rd year student.  He is super tall, buff, and probably one of the best characters of the show because he is just one goofy dude.  One of his favorite things to do is to help shave people, male or female.  Another great character is Mirei Shizuoka.  She is a very good swimmer but, she is afraid of people that watch her because she has very large breasts and gets embarrassed through out the show.  Apparently she has a collection of dildos. I did not know that so, this must be something from the manga, not the anime.  There are other characters as well like, Takeda, a super pervert and Maki, a super short girl that is trying to learn how to swim properly and also wants big boobs.

 Mirei Shizuoka
 Mirei Shizuoka
I would probably get more out of it if I read the manga but, I think the anime was good enough for me.  The characters were enjoyable and awesome, the story was simple to follow, and it's short.  It's only 13 episodes long.  If you are looking for something that is over the top with craziness, like School Rumble, or if you want some ecchi/fanservice action, then you will probably love this show.

My Score - 4 out of 5 (another 4 :P )
