Hollywood easily has the potential to make a great anime/manga movie as long as they stay true to the source material and don't make up stuff like Goku going to school in Dragonbal Evolution.

Continuing my adventures through anime, next stop was Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens, a romantic comedy with more comedy then romance and has some supernatural stuff thrown in there as well.  Going in without knowing anything, this anime caught me by surprise.  How should I say this?  I really enjoyed it.  I lot more then I thought I would.
 Jin, our main character.
 Jin, our main character.

While the core story was interesting, it can be kinda forgivable.  What drew me into the shows were the characters and the comedy.   Jin, Nagi, Tsugumi, Daitetsu, and Meguru were the best characters of the show in my book.  And as for a comedy, there was a bunch of great stuff.  One memorable thing would happen to be in episode nine when rumors are going around the school that Jin and Daitetsu are gay with each other.  After seeing a heated discussion between Nagi and Daitetsu about Jin, Tsugumi and the other members of the Art Club started questioning themselves about the true nature of Jin and Daitetsu's relationship.  Meanwhile Tsugumi starts talking to Takako in the halls and ends up yelling about Jin and Daitetsu being homo with each other which start the rumors through the whole school.  Through out the episode a bunch of goofy stuff happens, making it one of the best episodes of the show.

All and all, I thought this was a great show.  While the story was kinda weak, the characters and comedy stole the show for me.  If you are looking for something funny, goofy, and over the top, give this show a try.  There are only 13 episode and 1 OVA.  The show is watchable over at Anime News Network if you want to check out the show legally.

My Score - 4.5/5

After I finished watching the show I was going to look up some more info about it on Wikipedia.  When I was over there I noticed that the manga was currently on hiatus.  Apparently the author, Eri Takenashi, was very sick and unable to continue the manga.  After she got better she announced that she was going to take a year off before continuing the manga.  Hopefully the manga will pick up and continue soon and one day maybe I will read it when it's completed.

Bye Bye for now! It's 2:20 in the morning. :-)

 Fate/Stay Night
 Fate/Stay Night
Plot Summary: Shirou Emiya lost his parents in a fire when he was young and was later adopted by a sorcerer by the name of Kiritsugu Emiya. Although he was full of admiration for his adopted father and yearns to become an ally of justice, Shirou has limited powers and was unable to become a strong sorcerer like his father. That is until one fateful day, he was drawn into the Holy Grail War and had to summon a female "Servant" known as Saber in order to protect himself. It turns out that the Holy Grail War involves a series of battles among powerful sorcerers to fight for the possession of a relic that will grant one's wishes, the Holy Grail. There are altogether seven "Masters" who can summon their respective "Servants" from different classes known as Saber, Archer, Rider, Berserker, Lancer, Caster and Assassin. These "Servants" have to hide their names in order not to reveal their weaknesses to the enemies. The story revolves around Shirou and his entanglement in the Holy Grail War.

After a long wait, I have finally seen Fate/Stay Night.  This show was actually on the top of my "to watch" list but, I kept putting it off.  With nothing to watch, I finally
 Shirou
 Shirou
decided to check it out.  Fate/Stay Night was a very good show.

The best thing about this show was defiantly the story (look at top of this blog).  It can get a little confusing and over the top and times but, I thought it was very interesting and kept the show going.  In a weird way, it kinda felt like Zach Bell.  Don't ask my how or why, it just did to me with all the "Masters" and "Servants" things but, this show was way better then that one.  Another great thing about the show was the characters.  Shirou, Saber, Rin, Archer, Illya, and many more.  It seems like the whole cast of character were very good.  The only thing I didn't like was Shirou.  Well, his outfit.  While everyone is dressed up in some fancy way, most of the time he was just wearing a plain shirt and jeans.  Real original guys.

 Rin, Sakura, and Saber

Fate/Stay Night was a very enjoyable show.  It has a great story and a great cast of characters.  This is one of the shows that seems like it could have been a little longer or maybe make another series.  As some of you may know, this show is based on a adult visual novel of the same name.  It would be cool if they picked a different story ark and made it into another season but, only a fan can wish for me.  If you enjoy action/fantasy shows, give this one a look.

My Score - 4.5/5

While I'm not sure what I think is the best ending, here is a one that I recently seen and I find to be charming and catchy.  Here is the ending theme to Spice and Wolf.

 To Love-Ru
 To Love-Ru

One day when coming home and sulking in the bath-tub a mysterious, nude girl, appears out of nowhere. Her name is Lala and she comes from the planet Deviluke, where she is the heir to the throne. Her father wants her to return to her home planet so she can marry one of the husband candidates, but she decides that she wants to marry Rito in order to stay on Earth.

After watching Elfen Lied, which as a dark a brutal show, I thought I would watch something a little nicer so I picked To Love-Ru.
 Rito

Since I'm a fan of harem comedies, I thought I would check this one out.

To Love-Ru was a fun and enjoyable harem show.  The story was goofy and awesome at the same time and it was easy to follow to.  Rito has a chance to rule the universe someday.  Who wouldn't want to do that?  The show also had lots of ecchi/fanservice.  Unfortunately the episodes I watched where censored so they rarely showed any panty shots, breasts, etc. what so ever.

 Lala, princess of Deviluke

Most of the characters were good.  Rito was very enjoyable.  It seemed like through out the whole show something bad always happens to him and he has to get out of sticky situations, especially during the final two episodes when he has the save planet earth from Lala's father.  Lala was a free spirited girl who happens to love Rito.  If she has something on her mind, she wants to do it.  In one of the episodes she sees a comercial for a hot spring so she wants one.  She ends up digging into the Earth and ends up finding the seven colored hot springs in the middle of the earth.  Haruna was a sweet girl.  While Rito likes her, I think she likes him back but, doesn't show anything.  Maybe this is cleared up in the manga.  There are other great characters as well but there is just one that is annoying, Saki.  While she did look sexy, she had that stupid annoying laugh of hers.  Every time she laughed, I wanted to kick her in the face.

If you are a fan of the harem genre, like me, then you will find some enjoyment out of the show.  It's unfortunate that the manga got canned do to not having fresh storyline material but, the anime is still worth a watch.

My Score - 4 out of 5

Bakemonogatari was aired this past summer in Japan.  The series includes 15 episodes but, only 12 of them were broadcast.  The remaining 3 will be shown on there website starting at the end of October.  I should also mention that this series is based on a light novel series written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Vofan. I had just finished up watching Bakemonogatari (well, the first 12 episodes) and, I loved it.  Here is the plot and the basic structure of the show taken from Wikipedia.

Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjōgahara, who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi's arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. After being threatened by her, Koyomi offers his help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a strange middle-aged man living in an entire abandoned building, who helped him stop being a vampire.

The series tends to introduce only one new heroine per chapter, each involved with a different "apparition". Most of them have an item which symbolizes their specters, such as Hitagi's staple - the claw of crab, Mayoi's back pack - the shell of snail, Suruga's leggings - SARUMATA(猿股, the Japanese traditional underclothing. 'SARU' means monkey.), and Nadeko's big hat and baggy jacket - the head and skin of snake. The events of the previous chapters play an important role in the subsequent ones. The series primarily focuses on conversations between characters; it contains a fair number of parodies of other series, as well as Nisio Isin's trademark word play and metahumor.

There, that was much easier then my explaining it.  I love copy and paste.  :)

Now that I got that out of the way, let me share my thoughts.  I loved the art style.  It really suited this kind of creepy yet, calm atmosphere the show had.  I thought the overall story was good (might be confusing for some) and was very enjoyable.  As mentioned above, the show mainly focuses on conversations between the characters but, that's what makes Bakemonogatari very enjoyable.  While this may be a turn off for some, I thought all the dialog was excellent and a lot of the time, it was funny.  Ever once an a while you can some action (violent I should mention), which is good as well.  All the characters were very good, especially Koyomi and Hitagi.  Hitagi (a tsundere) was a very enjoyable character.  During the first episode you get a glance at here violent side while she sticks and pencil and stapler into Koyomi's mouth to make him not say anything about her.  While in the later episodes, you see her good side.  Koyomi kinda seems like your average guy (except he used to be a Vampire).  He always cares about anyone and helps them when they are in need (how he ended up getting to know Hitagi more and eventually dating her).

All and all, I really loved the show.  The only thing I didn't like was the length, only 15 episodes in all.  I guess I'm the kind of guy who always wants anime shows to be longer, not Shin Chan or DBZ length but, more would be nice.  Well, this is my first time doing this:

My score - 5/5.

I highly recommend this anime to anyone.  If you are looking for something new, try this one out.

P.S.  The song playing during the credits was awesome.  Awesome song and I love the art style.
