As a boy his villige forced his mother to give him up to be killed because he was  half demon but before

they came for him she hid him in the forbiden forest which is the entrance to the Makai (demon World). He was found by the Yoki overlord a powerful clan of demon as first glace they mistook him for a human but they felt a dark demon aura from the baby half-breed. they raised him as there own and trained him in the art of combat. When He was 10 he join the Assassins Core. The Assassins worked in a three man squad his team members were Aso itaki and Malik Shesmu . 

Each with there own special ability
malik had the Jagan eye which gave him telepathy, telekinesis, an easier time learning swordsmanship, god-like speed though he has yet to master it he's one of the best of the Shesmu clan.
Aso is a sucubus who can feed on weak demons and get them to do her bidding with her sex appel but currently
she thinks men are gross. so shes not a full powered Sucubus yet.
Hiei does not currently have any abilities and is made fun of by the other full demon kids.
The Assassins Core traning was very tough more them half of the participants died. while on there final mission to become full fleaged Assassin Core member they were required to steal a magic amulut from a rival clan. but they where anbushed and pinned down They tied up Malik  before he could activate his Jagen eye. They beat Hiei to a pulp and kicked him away. they grabed Asoand Hiei was furious and attack but was again beat. they decided to hold him and make him watch. as they begain to rip off her cloth Hiei could not take it any more. His eyes glowed bright Red and a black aura begain surounding him The demon leader took his thugs to kill the kid. but there best attacks did nothing Hiei arm began to glow bright red and a black dragon shot of of his glowing hand. from the screams you could tell Hiei was in great pain. the Black Dragon lashed out at the demons and burned there bodys and there souls. When Hiei awoke he was in the hospital with his arm bandaged. He asked why his arm was bandaged the doctor said "We had to cover you arm in cloth covered with Tao magic to keep the dragon from eating your soul. The dragon means that Hiei's father is a member of the Nagakami clan an ancient race of dragon demons who vanished many years ago." Hiei uttered " What can you tell me of The Nagakami Clan doctor" " Well its hard to tell whats fact and whats legend but from what i know The Nagakami clan are one of the most powerful clans to ever grace to Makai there leader is Tetsuo
