Just Anime » I really Dislike Gundam 00

@cfatalis: Oh, well, yeah, Gundam manga pretty much all sucks in general (with the only exception being Ecole du Ciel, in a slightly ironic sense). The novels though? It depends upon which ones you're talking about.

@Burntlettuce:
Thus you should be considered a UC Gundam purist. This is neither good nor bad (however if you were a C.E. purist then I'd be worried ;D )

Just Anime » I really Dislike Gundam 00

@cfatalis: Victory wasn't as bad as 00, and that says enough. Granted, no Gundam series is worse than GSD, even 00, but everyone already knows that.

Just Anime » I really Dislike Gundam 00

Gundam 00 is flat out horrible from the respect of being a Gundam show. This especially applies to the second season. Every Gundam series that start out with a set goal at the beginning usually managed to progressively move towards it, even if the goal itself shifted for justifiable reasons throughout.

Gundam 00 however, does not. It sets the goal of ending all wars. Ok, good, they even have them do some initial confrontations with some of the major factions to get the swords rattling against them in unity. However, almost as soon as season 2 started, (and semi-evident in season 1) they all of a sudden get sidetracked. "Oh so and so got captured, gotta rescue him, Oh this weapon is too powerful gotta destroy it first, crap now we're getting our asses kicked yet we still manage to have new bases NO ONE ever mentioned till now purely so we don't die right away"...... then in the last 2-3 episodes, I could hear that dumbass director go "Oh crap! We forgot to have them accomplish world peace! crud! what do we do! Ummm.... come up with something fast!", and considering there's an entire ocean between us, that's pretty impressive. Point is, Gundam 00 had about as much direction as a long running shounen show like Bleach or Naruto in the end, and I swear if another person makes a comparison of it saying it's like Wing I will hang them by various organs from a street lamp and proceed to stab them with a rusty steel-tipped Gundam marker.

Battles » Gundam vs Evangelion

The twin buster rifle is capable of not just destroying, but VAPORIZING entire space colonies. We're not talking wimpy space colonies either, we're talking full size Stanford Torus design space colonies that are several kilometers in diameter.

There is no factual way that the Eva could physically survive such a dense energy wave that even causes physical matter to deteriorate. I mean, we're talking something that causes effects similar to approaching the Chandrasekhar limit people...

Also, lets not forget that the Eva is reliant on it's umbilical cable for power. Once that's cut, any pilot in the Wing Zero could simply fly up into the sky and 02 would never be able to touch it.
Oh, and let's not forget about the beamsaber. 22 layers of reinforced armor? meet my friend the overpowered arc-welder.

So basically, mobility is incredibly in Wing Zero's favor, firepower is RIDICULOUSLY in Wing Zero's favor, and to make matters worse for the EVA, it has a built in weakness. I think it should be obvious who would win.

As for the Strike Freedom (Gundam Seed Destiny), I don't really know for sure. Chances are the Freedom would win due to the Super Dragoon system just harassing the EVA like mad until it got bored, not to mention specifically cutting the umbilical cable would be even easier for him than even the Wing Zero as a result.

00 Raiser? Despite being covered in sharp pointy objects I don't know if he would win. It seems like virtually every weapon he has would be useless against the AT field since they're all melee weapons, which means he has to go in close to do anything and that allows the EVA to actually do something against him. His mobility is pretty nice just like the other two, but I think his only reasonable shot would be boring the EVA to death by waiting up in the sky (though it's GN drive would probably run out first) or cutting the umbilical cable.

IN CONCLUSION: Assuming we toss out the umbilical cable factor, Wing Zero would still unquestionably win, the Strike Freedom would probably win albeit via a one-sided war of attrition banging away at the EVA till it finally grows tired and gives up (it's flesh and blood, unlike the Gundams), and the 00 Raiser would be in for a pretty intense fight that it could possibly lose.

General Discussion » The Questions Thread

Any new news on when the Demonbane Visual Novel being officially translated into English by JAST USA is going to come out yet? They've been taking preorders for quite a while and I'd love to play it eventually...

General Discussion » Vice Survey: Reviews!

To keep it simple, I like either:

In depth text reviews that analyze the aspects of (manga/anime/movie, doesn't matter to me, I like them all) it such as what it's good points are, bad points, animation/drawing style and quality, stuff like that.
OR
Video reviews that cover that same general layout. Short or long, funny with their own twists in the review or serious, I don't mind. The only thing is I wish there was a way to see reviews other than the reviews page. Most people (including myself) rarely have any reason to look through there so we never see them whether they're amazing reviews or not.

@Sonata: @Kelleth: Funny you guys mention Ayano for "Hottest" character, lol.

Though as far as the show goes, I like her and Catherine both a lot.

Batch of discovered plaigerized character articles numero dos:

Kuzuki Soichirou (I think it's supposed to be spelled Souichirou) : ripped from here
Rider : ripped from here
Caster (HEADS UP: I think someone else legitimately wrote the first half or so, but if you open this other link  you'll probably be able to tell where someone just did a pure copy): ripped from here
Gilgamesh : ripped from here
Lancer : ripped from here
Arihiko Inui : ripped from here

Sometimes I wish I could just draw on the pages with red ink or at least have a built in "Flag this page for possible plagiarism" button (maybe even have a tool in it that asks you to enter a URL and/or highlight the part of the article in question)...

And that's only the Type Moon characters...

@cfatalis: Let's not forget the MEoDP users and Burial Agency agents who are good enough at using Black Keys to stop him from being able to regenerate.

Well, like my blog post said, I got fed up with finding it all over the kinds of topics I like to search.... notice a relation between that list and my interests? :)

I'd say just about every single Type Moon character, but there are enough exceptions, so I'll just list the ones I've come across personally instead:

In no particular order:
Akiha Tohno : ripped from here
Shiki Tohno : ripped from here
Kirei Kotomine : ripped from here
Kiritsugu Emiya : ripped from here
Sion Eltnam Atlasia : ripped from here
Ciel : ripped from here
Michael Roa Valdamjong : ripped from here
Arcueid Brunestud : ripped from here
Kohaku : ripped from here
Hisui : ripped from here
Nrvnqsr Chaos : ripped from here
Satsuki Yumizuka : ripped from here
Aoko Aozaki : ripped from here
Touko Aozaki : ripped from here
Shiki Ryougi : ripped from here
Azaka Kokuto (which is misspelled btw, it should be Kokutou) : ripped from here
Fujino Asagami : ripped from here
Lio Shirazumi : ripped from here

(there's tons more I'm sure too, I'm just tired of trying to find them all is all)

and the real kicker that ticked me off the most, was the article on Mystic Eyes of Death Perception which not only erased my article I wrote here for it, but was ripped from the very wiki article I originally wrote on another site! (I didn't write any of the other wikia articles up on the list, but it surprised me when I found this one... talk about irony)

General Discussion » Feature Requests

A cool idea I stole from Giant Bomb's site, how about a collection list for everyone's profile by default, so that more people think to add whatever series they own to their own collection list?

Battles » who can beat tengen toppa gurren laggan?

@cfatalis: Well, if you want to pull the whole "altering probability" effect, then TTGL might as well be invincible. I mean, it's the largest mech ever conceived in anime to date with an insane crew of hotbloods, and you want to let it keep that ability too?

In my opinion then this argument is over. About the only think I could think of that would be able to defeat it would be if you found a way to imbue a planet sized mech with Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, just so it would have a long enough time to react and slash before getting hit with a foot the size of a galaxy..... either that or find someone with lightyear-scale super long range clairvoyance combined with the ability to kill things by looking at them or something to that effect. I don't suppose anyone can think of something that would fit that description?

Battles » who can beat tengen toppa gurren laggan?

Well, getting back on track, it would be unreasonable to argue that the Aristoteles could at least put up a good fight against the TTGL, especially since they lack a 'concept of death'... They range in size and although the largest ones are only about the size of a planet, given their unique traits and powers I think they'd still at least put up a fight.

then again, there's probably only three people on this forum who have any idea what I'm referring to, so here's an outside explanation: http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Aristoteles

RPG » Grand Grail WARS

@cfatalis: @willyvereb: What on earth are you guys talking about? I mean, I thought I was a diehard TM fan but I am sooo confused. Rule Breaker pistol?? I thought that Rule Breaker was just Medea's noble phantasm unique to her?

Also, it's spelled "Zelretch" not "Zeltrech" (sorry, it was just bugging me).

Personally I think the original is better John, but you can skip Fuko's arc completely if you're pressed for time. It's about the only stupid part. [/painfully frank]
