General Discussion » The Site Design

The fact that it's Whiskey Media designed (which is like GiantBomb) really lets me get right into it. I've grown comfortable at GB, so adapting here was no problem. The colors look fine to me, although too much purple strains the eyes sometimes.

Overall: Hooray!

Thanks :3

I'd be more than happy to do any picture editing requests, although I can't promise you that they'll be good at all :( I'm still getting the hang of Photoshop as I have less than a year of experience with it.

I'm also going to hit the hay pretty soon, so I'll check back tomorrow.

If the green on the hat looks weird, then try my updated picture. I have no idea how it came out as green (accident).

If you think the green makes it look more festive, then I guess it works.

Thanks :)

Here, I made the white part of the hat whiter (came out as green for some reason):

That's why we have genres right?.

Anyway It's all the same for games, movies, music, etc."
I don't know, but for me, anime seems harder to really rate than games and movies. Granted, there are ones that are absolute crap, but I find making a real solid rating system hard to do as most of the ratings/lists will be a lot more opinion-oriented.

Ah ha, so I have to re-pay those points until I can have more points added on (like a loan/debt essentially)? Why did my other edit not show up in the feed though?

General Discussion » SUBMISSIONS

I just posted 951 points worth of writing (that I wrote), but my points got sucked up by a black hole of some sorts :S

"Try making a few more submissions and see if that fixes it.

And no, having a GB account does not normally earn you 1001 points on AnimeVice -- please don't spam ethan's PM box. :)

"
I just tried that, but no avail :(

In fact, my recent contribution wasn't even acknowledged. It's not even on the feed, but it is down there in the "contribution" section. My points remain the same.

"Maybe its just a glitch where it will take some time to fix? I know recently I have made about 300-400 points worth of edits on giantbomb and still haven't gotten the points yet. But from the edits i have made I have gotten the points immediately."
GiantBomb has been like that for me too. Although, I'm deeply saddened because it took me a week to write all of that.

I have no idea. I was asking if he had any moderator spots available, but he 'gave me 1001 points for now'.

Bug Reporting » Lost 900+ points, or paid them back?

After showing ethan my GiantBomb page, he gave me 1001 points for live edits.

I went ahead and added up a bunch of info on Yuki Nagato (which I had already written for a GiantBomb page) and hit submit. Apparently, I got 951points for it.

I say apparently, because instead of adding 951 to me 1001, I have this message on my feed:

  • Hazelnutman just made 2 changes on the Yuki Nagato page and now has 1,001 points.

Instead of having 1952 points, I'm still on 1001. Does this mean that the 1001 points are something I have to pay back before I can advance, or have my 951 points been lost to a glitch or something?

"I am not sure cause im not from CV im from GB but in the begining I heard they gave 1,001 points to people with over 1,000 points at cv who moved here too. Or something to that I think. If anyone can back me up on this. I had 7 points for about 10 minutes until I became a mod and was given 1,000 points."
I'm not sure.

I sent ethan a moderator request and he says he gave me 1001 points so that I can start doing live edits for now. It might also have to do with your GiantBomb profiles, because I sent him a link to my profile as well.

I suppose so, but the meaning is completely different.

Snow -----> Courage

The kanji and meanings change, but you're right; I can't tell them apart when someone is saying it to me.

Try watching this tutorial.

The tutorial's actually for AnimeVice's sister site (GiantBomb), but it essentially has the same points/wiki system.

Editing & Tools » Genres: Mecha = Science Fiction ?

I agree.

Animes like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya can be considered Science Fiction, but you wouldn't call it mecha at all.
