Well, some must've already noticed this, but I started noticing the large amount of canceled series and manga titles simply but on long break. Mostly by Tokyopop, but also from Dark Horse. Some of you might remember the time, when Kodansha pulled back their licences and sold them back for a high price. That left the already economically suffered Tokyopop in a deep puddle of.....well, ..y'know. Here's some of the titles causing grief to their fans. Some of these were never finished.

Tokko, Saiyuki Reload, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Reiko the Zombieshop, Samurai Deeper Kyo, GetBackers, Rave Master and Life
Even the finished titles has been affected, because the earliest publications by Tokyopop has been long sold-out. Great Teacher Onizuka and GTO: Early Years are in desperate need for a re-print. Unbelievably so, even popular and bestselling titles can't seem to get such luxury as a new edition. And for those, who read online, the situation isn't much easier. Few years earlier, Tokyopop demanded that the sites must be cleaned of their own titles. The prices are at their all-time high and remote countries have it bad. Manga isn't much of a problem, but anime is another case. It's hard to find in most smaller towns and even in Helsinki, the very few places selling it ask for terrible prices. For most, translations or dubs aren't even considered as a choice. Thumbs up for the better times, buddies...!!

Since every blog has some sort of general idea behind it(news, reviews, columns and so on), I thought about a blog introducing some older or less popular manga....and anime. Y'know... a bit more unknown names and oneshots by the creators of some more known mangas(such as 13 by Hideaki Sorachi, creator of Gintama). I already keep one blog of this kind in the finnish anime-community Kupoli. Roughly it's name would translate as "Ikkaku's Yet Unknown Classics". But that one's been pretty much on a hiatus for the last year or so, beside the few recent entries. Due to lack of personal time and severe lack of interested readers the break will probably soon turn into a final goodbye. BUT... I'd like to try again...HERE!! Gentile comments are always welcome and suggestions will be directly written down. And since I'm doing this for the sake of YOU, my dear readers(are there any?), outright defamation will be taken as a plead to quit this. Don't ruin other people's fun, okay?! Well, since I made myself clear....I'm done for today. See you.......

It ain't much, but I just found the 25th episode of Durarara. Loved it. Felt like a gift from Heaven after 4 terrible episodes of Otome Yookai Zakuro. Next time, I'll put a few words about the manga that can be found from libraries and how they get there....in Finland, at least.

So, since I last time talked about the finnish manga publications, I thought a list of the best ones would give ya a good picture of what WE can buy from supermarkets and newsstands...The whole list including pseudo, ended series, not-yet published ones and those still being released comes to 99 names......sounds crappy.
