To be honest, I'm actually still pretty new to anime in general. As far as Gundam goes I've only been able to watch W, G, 00 and SEED.

I remembered watching anime shows on toonami, and roughly a year and a half ago I got the urge to watch those shows again.

I enjoyed the above mentioned ones and bought some anime related games like the dynasty warriors Gundam games.

I saw those other characters like Amuro, Kamille, Garrod and it made me want to watch the series with them in it.

I recently found Animechannel on youtube and it has mobile suit gundam, z and zz. I just started a few days ago

... so you can blame my "herecy" on my naiveness or newbieness i guess :)

Likes the Yakuza games, as do I. (and you should too!!!)

@Masako_Hihashi: Do you have Athrun confused with Rau Le Creuset? If it helps I don't like Kira in Destiny.

@Blaopink: I'm not saying Anime like HSOTD is bad, I just feel like it shouldn't be someones introductory anime or Ikkitousen for that matter.

kinda makes me wonder what anime you wouldn't want to show a newbie. Don't really want to create a new thread for it though.

Kamina from Gurren Lagann is pretty damn badass. Shizuo from Durarara is totally badass too.

Mechazawa and Freddy (Mercury, implied) from Cromartie are also well-known badasses in there own anime :)

Can't really pick one as the most badass of all anime badasses, I think a list of badasses should be created.

LOL, I can understand why you don't like it but I do. Since you're playing gundam 3 ( I do too) you should give seed another shot. I'm infatuated with Athrun for reasons I can't explain.

Why I say that is because playing the character in the game helped me build a liking for the corresponding show the character is on.

00 is pretty cool, doesn't pickup for me until the late into 1st season. season 2 gets better. The game is actually making me want to watch more gundam too so I know the feeling.

and if you like 00, the dlc is majority 00 characters.

I really like slice of life anime alot, would that alone kinda count as guilty pleasure. Since its based alot on you liking the character as opposed to an actual plot.

I hope that made sense. For example, I like Pani Poni Dash! more than I should. not sure of its popularity so it might fit for me as unpopular, at least compared to lucky star or azumanga daioh!

Thats usually how it is with me and slice of life anime though so thats why I would like to say the entire genre.

As far as being new to anime, if said person is from the USA probably Outlaw Star, Trigun or Cowboy Bebop.

What got me into it was Evangelion, then I watched Death Note and became an instant fan of anime after those too alone.

I've never really chatted with anybody about anime before and was curious to know if these are thought of as underrated.
