It seems the Twiter link on profiles isn't working. The same Tweet I made weeks ago is still on here.

Bug Reporting » Concepts and Objects Not Appearing

I'm trying to add some object and concept associations to the 4th Negima! Volume.

Answer these questions:

1. What browser are you using?

 Firefox 3

2. What Operating System are you using?

Windows VISTA

3. What is the exact link to the page you are having a problem with?

http://www.animevice.com/volume-4/16-1782/

4. Details, details, details. Explain it in detail.

I was trying to add concepts and objects to the profile. I would type the name in the search window and select them, but they never appear onscreen.

Will there be a 3 Minute Expert on White Day? I already made a profile for it and plan to fill out the information later tonight. I'm going out for dinner now.

It's actually a misconception that the tool was ever for catching or breaking swords. While possible, it could be dangerous to try since the tine is so close to the hands.

That first Jitte profile I posted is actually a direct lift from the wikipedia page. It's a style of martial arts and not an object.
WIKIPEDIA page. Even the description was similar and calls it a style of karate. That would make it a concept and not an object.

The Jutte profile that I made a while back is an object that is used in that style of martial arts. While the name Jitte is sometimes used, Jutte is more appropriate. Jutte translates into "Ten Hands" Ju in Japanese means ten.

This page has things kind of mixed up.
Jitte

Should be a CONCEPT since it is a type of martial arts and not an OBJECT.

I already made a profile for that Jutte OBJECT.
A Jutte

A Jutte is a tool that is used in the Jitte style of martial arts and there is already a profile.

Mod Edit: Sorry for the delay but it's been taken care of.

More front page Reviews. Comic Vine has a review up nearly daily. It's one thing to list the series coming out. It's another matter to actually talk about if the prodcust are worth the price. A whole lot of news and very little in the way of reviews.

CV also really talks and discusses the events of current comics. Such as Dark Reign or Blackest Night.

General Discussion » Do you Care about (anime) pirating?

Normally, I wouldn't be a big supporter of many online fan sub works, but often times that's the only way you can get the proper story. Too often they alter content and story. If people were turned off by the Japanese culture. They wouldn't be watching anime and manga in the first place.

I often use pirated online anime to preview a series to see if I would want to buy. Since so few networks actually air series.

Though I also have an open boycott against all VIZ products. So, if they make it I don't buy it.

Grade Schoolers do NOT equal hot. They equal five to ten in the federal prison system.

Editing & Tools » Who wants to be a MOD?

@John_Martone:

I had thought about volunteering for MOD, but I'm not often in the forums here. I really didn't even see this thread until it was pretty much over. I'm also not so sure you would want a moderator who has such open hostility toward the VIZ Media. I wouldn't touch any of the series they publish.

Sounds like there were members that you wanted to make MODs, but they either didn't step forward or just weren't nominated by anyone.

I was looking through the latest object profiles and I saw that the profile for a BABY was in with objects. Wouldn't this be a concept?

I also saw Wheelchair in concepts. That's a thing.

Delete/Combine Pages » Under Translated Concepts

I noticed these two concepts that are left under translated rather then using the english titles.

Incho

Incho is a title for Class President. Since it has an English Concept as "Class President" shouldn't the profile be titled as such as have the Japanese translation in the Japanese section?
 http://www.animevice.com/iincho/22-474/

Imouto

This is the title for a Young Sister, but the profile created for the Japanese term Imouto. For this site, shouldn't the title be Younger Sister?

Editing & Tools » Filling Out the Japanese and Here is a Tip How

Now and again I like to just surf through the site and find what information I can fill out. Try to find a better quality profile picture, try to fill out first appearances, and the most commonly unfilled segment I find is the lack of the Japanese.

I understand that not everyone knows Japanese. I am still learning it many parts, but I have a pretty strong base of understanding.

Here is a tip I have for those of you who might not know your Japanese too well. It's a website I found a while back.
http://jisho.org/

Type in the word you are looking for and it will show you the Japanese writing, in hiragana, katakana, and Kanji(where applicable). You can even check how words are used in sentences, and find the kanji for names. Your browser will need to be able to read Japanese, but you will be able to copy and paste the characters as needed.
If you know the Japanese spelling. Write it in the Japanese segment, and it will take care of the rest and show you the meaning.

Now, the site doesn't translate things into romanji (basically how we can read it). It does it into hiragana and katakana. For those of you who can't read those. I'm posting here a hand made chart I did years ago when I was first studying Japanese. It's non perfect, but it basically works. This will help you to fill out what the ronamji will be for words.

Hiragana

This is the most common writing system in Japan. This is what you learn before you start kanji. A kanji character can represent a single to multiple hiragana characters.

 Hiragana
 Hiragana

Katakana

This system is more often used for non-Japanese words. Such as English names or English pronounced words. Here is a tip, don't go by how you think it's spelled. Go by pronunciations. Think of each character as a syllable.

Here is an example:
My name is Kristoffer. In Japanese it would be spelled as クリストファー(ku-ri-su-to-faa) Now, you may notice that character near the end, judging by the chart, means "fu". You would be correct, but notice the small "a" next to it. That is telling you to replace the "u" in "fu" with an "a". Since there is no "fa" character. The dash at the end is telling you to extend the vowel sound that comes before it. Making it "faa".

Here is where it's a bit tricky. The name Arthur is actually spelled as アーサー (aa-saa). This is because the Japanese language doesn't have a "th" sounds. So, they use the S based syllables. The same goes for L based sounds. That is replaced with R based syllables.
This is just two examples of the differences.

I hope this helps some out.
