Anime Vice Now has a Completed Catalog on the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime!!

The end of the Fullmetal Alchemist
The end of the Fullmetal Alchemist
I've undertake a few series projects in my time here as a member and Mod on Anime Vice. All in order to try and create a more solid site with extensive information on popular series. To make sure that if someone wanted to learn about the series that Anime Vice is the place to go. I have worked on series such as Negima!, Strike Witches, Okamisan, One Piece, and others. Now, I've turned to fleshing out the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Originally, I wasn't too interested in this series. I already watched the first season. While i enjoyed it, the finale was an absolute let down that left me feeling unfulfilled, and that movie didn't help things. I wasn't sure why I would want to put myself through that again. Even if the ending was different. Iknow this series was more designed to follow the canon of the manga. That the first 2003 anime went off on a wild direction. It was a once bitten and twice shy scenario I found myself in.

Everyone was telling me to watch it, but like with most things I can be pretty stubborn. It didn't help matters that I already knew that Martel dies in both versions the very same way and even faster in this series. It wasn't until Christmas Eve of last year that I actually sat down and gave Episode 1 of FMA: Brotherhood a try. It was weird how wildly un-canon the episode was, but I stayed in. It took a few episodes in, but I was really pleased with how things progressed the canon became stronger and more so.

Arakawa may of killed off the adorable Martel, but replaced her with someone just as nice. That being the lovely and fearful Olivier Milla Armstrong. She is so entertaining to watch. Equal amounts power, strength, and passion. I'm not one who's much for figures, but I'd like one of her.

I will say that I was rather disappointed in the Anince Vice community when I saw just how poorly filled out the FMA: Brotherhood episode profiles were filled out. For a series that everyone was telling me to watch. Almost no one was doing much of anything with them. Many characters were missing from episodes, concepts weren't filled out, and almost no object associations. Well, I couldn't really tolerate that. So, I undertook it to fill out the episodes and create character profiles while I was already marathoning the series off FUNimation's official youtube site. I made sure each episode page had at least one picture, and all the major cities of the story now have profiles as well.
The idea was to try and catch up with Tom Pinchuk's Watch & Learn articles on the new page, but those have seem to be coming less and less frequently. I eventually caught up with the series and got impatient. I instead polished off the rest of the series. Now, all 64 episodes have intensive detail on each page and full cast listing. I only need to make some episode profiles for a few minor characters.

The finale was truly incredible. I was disappointed in one tiny, tiny aspect of the finale, but I wont mention anything in case of spoiling for those following Tom's articles. Past that, it was an incredible anime. This is one of those times I am so happy to be wrong about something. I was so entertained by this series, it has made be very seriously question lifting my blanket boycott of all VIZ Media manga for this series. That should tell you something about this story and how good it is. VIZ can just be such pantywaists. I already know in the Fullmetal Alchemist manga they call Bradley President in place of "Fuhrer".

All that is really left to be done is to fill out the voice actor and other credits on the pages.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood VA Master List

I'm making this list because trying to hunt through Anime News Networks (ANN) jumble of characters takes an absolute eternity to go between English and Japanese. That's because they organize alphabetically by the actor and not the character. I'm trying to fill out those profiles, having a list of them in alphabetical order will just make things faster and much less annoying. I do still need to hunt for some names that ANN didn't list. (Note: Some characters don't have an English VA listed because these characters appear later in the series, and the English dubs had not been release to that point. I will try and update this list when available.)
